Not quite Slimming World, but does anyone else follow The Meal Prep King. Any thoughts?
This is good to know especially re the body adapting and you’d have to then lower your calories again! I didn’t know this!I just wanted to reiterate the MFP thing. I used to be a PT and I’m qualified with Precision Nutrition to level 2. Don’t use MFP to work out your daily calorie goal, it gives nearly all women 1200 which is far too low for most people. I actually use James Smith’s nutrition calculator for free on his app (as annoying as I think he is) as I find it’s the better of those out there. If you go with 1200 anyway, not only will you feel hungry and probably end up binging because of feeling so restricted, but when your body adapts to those calories you’ll have to drop them again and going below 1200 is NOT recommended.
So agree, one of my good friends suffers with BED and he is scared to eat in front of people, let alone post a crap pasta dish for the world to see. He eats when he’s alone, hence the binging. So glad to see the back of him, done nothing for me and I’m sure he’ll be back saying he’s cured, join SW lose 20 pound in his first week then gain another 6 stone! Waste of space.Justrossj - can someone please make a thread, he is the worst, now just been diagnosed with a binge eating disorder, personally I think he was just looking for an excuse as to why he keeps failing diets, he is just a pig with no willpower
MFP put me on the same.... and I wasn’t actually losing weight really at such low calories and very high amounts of activity. Apparently it messes up your metabolism eating so low.Apologies if anyone has said this but I’d watch with MFP it doesn’t seem to give realistic calorie goals. When I worked with a PT she helped me to work out my BMR which is what you burn in a day naturally aka lying down not moving at all it then gives you your calories you can consume to maintain and those that will put you in a calorie deficit going forward. It helped me massively. MFP told me to eat 1250 and I struggled a lot!

Agreed, I find his attitude really off putting and I don’t think he is endearing himself to grab potential clients. I appreciate people need to know these things but he really takes it too far.I used to really like his no-bullshit approach to weight loss, but in the past year, he has become really arrogant IMO. He only wants to make ££, not actually help people as he preaches. He mocks anyone who is doing a weight loss plan even though he is literally making money off weightloss. Actually I find him incredibly arrogant, rude and dismissive.
He will smash and slander SW and WW ect, and he puts up a lot of crappy things about these groups but he is no better. Yes, he has abs and has lost weight but it is not a significant amount. He had a beer belly and a few extra lbs that he dropped for his wedding using Team RH. He isn't some genius. He belittles people and their reasons for being overweight. I would rather be overweight eating pizza and pasta and drinking my wine with my husband and friends, enjoying life, than be an insufferable twit like him who quotes themselves on a whiteboard and eats the same food every week.
Jason if you read here, please stop quoting yourself, stop filming yourself driving, stop being a preachy git. You can help people without dragging others down or mocking them in the process.

The Fitness Chef comes across much better imo, he’s funny and straight talking. He has a book and now an app which he charges for but I just find him altogether much better. If what you’re peddling is great you don’t need to piss on others fire.

I’m not convinced she’s under professional treatment. I have a feeling she’s trying to recover on her own. All facilities or treatment I’ve engaged with require almost twice the amount of food of a “normal” adult to gain weight. She won’t gain an ounce eating what she’s eating.I think in one of the comments she said something about not/can’t increase at the moment so hopefully she’s seeing a specialist who is upping her calories bit by bit. I don’t know how she just has a cuppa soup for tea, I wouldn’t be able to sleep from hunger!!
