Going back to Kate Bush, I have some tea. Details may be a bit vague to keep me a little anonymous.

Back in the mid 90s, just as she entered her ‘wilderness’ period, I was introduced to her. It was at a private event, the person I was seeing at the time was invited to it. He knew I really loved her so asked a mutual acquaintance of the two of them if the acquaintance would bring Kate over to say hello to us. Reader- I have never in my life been lost for words and I must have been a blithering idiot. I can only hope she was used to it. I don’t remember much of what was said but the outstanding memory I have of her is that she was tiny (tbf, I’m 5’8” or 9” tall) but I had the feeling I was looking up at her as I was so awestruck. And she was beautiful- like a doll.

And of course this was before mobile phones so I have no proof that this happened but it absolutely did

Presumably he didn’t keep her locked up. She could have left. Not a TJ fan but the helpless wife narrative is lame.
she did spend a significant amount of their time in the us suffering from extreme agoraphobia (and general anxiety over leaving their home), which is why she was so rarely seen in public, so i’m not sure it was quite as easy as her just leaving, however lame that may feel.

I think Dennis Quaid is a good example of the romantic life of the Hollywood leading man over the decades.

Wife 1: 4 years older than him
Wife 2 (Meg Ryan): 7 years younger than him
Wife 3: 20 years younger than him
Wife 4: 40 years younger than him

But actually you'd never guess there was a 40 year age gap between him and his current wife as he's had very natural looking cheek fillers that make him look like a mere thirtysomething

I always thought Dennis Quaid was who you got when you couldn't afford Harrison Ford

Well at least Fairytale of New York is likely to be number one this year. Hands down the best Christmas song ever written. RIP Shane and Kirsty 💔

I honestly don't get it being a whole "they are racist because they discussed it!" obviously without the context of that meeting it can't be proven either way but surely it's a normal discussion and likely no malice was meant?

My brothers kids are mixed, I would lay down my life for both of them, I adore them and worship the ground they walk on. My sister in law and I are super close and as a 3 we have an amazing bond and the kids added to that and make it even stronger.

However before they were born we (my brother, sister in law and myself) did have a jokey discussion a few times about who they'd take after and the colour of their skin, If they'd be darker skin toned like SIL but bright ginger for a little bit like my brother was as a baby etc.

No offence was meant, no offence was taken, we all participated and even giggled about it. Then their first child was born and they became the center of our families world, followed by the second child. As will any other child who may or may not follow.

Surely it's a thing that all families do and it just happens that the skin colour is included on some occasions? Will it take after daddy and have such and such eye colour ? Will they have mummy's hair colour or eyes. If one is from a different country wl they have aspects of that country? (not necessarily colour)
They weren't being racist it’s curiosity, we did the same when my sister was pregnant we all wondered what the kids would look like as we are mixed race, that doesn’t mean I’m being racist. Markle needs to get a fucking grip and stop claiming the family is racist! She’s a fucking bellend.

Just seen
This has been rumbling for years apparently and yes, it forced her to leave CBeebies (afaik she was not sacked) but he made her life untenable and she had to put all energies into bringing this absolute waste of rations to justice.

I wish her all the best because this guy clearly has form and she was me and my kids’ favourite on CBeebies and because of this guy, had to leave.

The other two wrote a book where they implied that the group was really just the two of them and Siobahn seemed very much an outsider.
Me and my cousin saw Sara and Keren from Bananarama in Carnaby Street one Saturday afternoon in the early 80's. They were both plugged into the same Walkman, and they looked exactly the same as they did on the telly, really cool, with mad hair and amazing make-up. They were both really pretty too, but as me and my cousin walked past them, we got a bit giggly and star-struck, they both just looked at us like we were something they'd scraped off their shoe. We vowed to never buy one of their records (not that we would have anyway, we didn't listen to stuff like that) and even now, if any of their songs come on the telly, I have to switch over. F**k you, Bananarama! 🤣🤣

Anyone else been keeping up with the Denise Welch fake death saga? Last night on Twitter, someone said Denise had died. This led to people rushing to pay tribute to her via editing her Wikipedia page. First, it was claimed she died after an explosive bout of diarrhoea (This was posted in a news article by ITV as well if you need verification), others said she was struck down by lightning from a 5G mast (also posted in a news article by ITV). Then the Daily Mail claimed that Denise nearly died after getting run over by Farida from Big Brother after she hijacked Kerry’s mobility scooter 💀

It just feels so dystopian 😭

He legally changed his surname to "Rocknroll" too. Massive gobshite red flag right there.
Kate clearly adores him but anything I've ever read about the man makes him sound simple.
Honestly I nearly died when I saw the papers refer to him as 'Ned Rocknroll'. The LEAST rocknroll person I have ever had the misfortune to come across. He wore checked shirts and corduroy trousers when I knew him- like Giles from Gogglebox.

I've gone off Tom Hardy since I found out the story about him attacking a scooter thief wasn't all it was made out to be.

I also can't take Nat Cass seriously now I've seen her ladygarden. She was on Scott Mills last week and I was cringing throughout.
Another way to look at those pictures is that Natalie is the victim of revenge porn, which is the same crime that Stephen Bear went to prison for.

I don’t know much about Shane’s wife, but I hated that she allowed those last photos of him into the public domain.
If he consented, then fair enough, but to me it looks like he was past that. I’d hate anyone to do that to me :(
Yeah bit like the Bruce Willis pictures of him looking confused. I’m really uncomfortable with those. (I know this has been said already).

I presume that's Winslet? I don't know her but I used to work for Richard Branson in my early 20s. Her husband Ned is his nephew. He was brought into the business after he finished uni and he was one of the most clueless dickheads I've ever worked with. He had no idea how to speak to women, no social skills whatsoever....Just so dense. It was like being managed by Tim nice but dim. I couldn't bear him. I don't mince my words and I think I made it quite clear that I thought he was a simpleton.
The particular business I worked for was a very small part of the Virgin empire and I think Richard must have promised him a job so shoved him in somewhere where he wouldn't matter too much.
It shocked the life out of me when I saw that she'd married him, he was such a wet wipe.
Although I dislike Richard Branson's politics and some of the awful decisions he's made (suing the NHS being one of them) he's a decent boss. Very pleasant to talk to, remembers everyone's names, treats his employees really well.
Yes Winslet. Interesting about her husband. Glad to hear Richard Branson is a good guy. He found my friend homeless sleeping rough in her circa 80s, he was aghast and let her stay in his London office until she got on her feet.

our daughter is a red head and has just moved in with her dual heritage Jamaican boyfriend. Mr Nelly and I have talked excitedly about many future possibilities, including how our possible grandchildren would look. Of course they would be chefs kiss 😘 , hands down the most beautiful children ever born. How is that wrong or racist? Answer - it’s not.

As a ginger myself every child born since me has had a discussion before birth, surely discussing whether or not it will be a certain shade of ginger, we have strawberry blond, orange, auburn and chestnut, is just the same as discussing what shade skin the child will have if it is going to be mixed race. It is not racist to have such discussions.

I was, 28 years ago. He knocked my front teeth out and broke several ribs. I only escaped when he chopped someones arm off with a machete and got jailed for 12 years. I was then able to get a lifetime injunction out on him. So, yeah i know a little bit about controlling relationships. I apologised for my earlier comment, im not in a good way mentally atm. But hey, if you wanna kick me then go ahead.
I apologise wholeheartedly for having a go at you on this thread. I didn't realise at the time how much pain you were in with your bereavement, and I should have kept my mouth shut (or my fingers still). I hope time is gentle with your grief and you start to feel better soon. Sending positive vibes your way 💕 💕 💕

Today’s papers - the highlights:

1. My partner asking me why the Times magazine had Russell Brand on the cover (it was a wet Joe Wicks)

2 Interview in the Guardian with Denise Welch:

Q: What was your most embarrassing moment?
Denise: Shitting myself in New York last November…

She’s a classy lady.
