And Sam Ryder was such an amazing likeable performer.

Linekar has always got on my nerves. There's something about him that is so smug and unlikeable. Reminds me of Pip Schofield in that respect.
Spaceman would have won it had it been another year

I'll never forget that the comment which made me a well known member was about Stephen Bear's stretched rectum.

My OH met Gregg Wallace on the trains forever ago. He was pissed as a fart at 11am, tried to get my bloke to drink alcohol on duty and, while he had time for everyone and was nice enough, OH got the impression he was very smarmy and sleazy.

That's my two penneth for today!
On another site I'm on, an agency bod said that his place sends an internal memo reminding staff that Gregg Wallace, when he comes in to do a promo, should never be left alone with a female staff member.

So yeah your OH's instincts sound about right!

I'm indifferent to Lineker. I don't agree with a lot of his political stuff but he is entitled to say it. The way the BBC and government are acting I think they're proving Gary's point tbh.

I think it's brilliant all the other pundits are saying they won't do it. Rylan even posted he wouldn't host it . :ROFLMAO:

BBC impartiality definitely needs to apply to news and journalism (Andrew Neil got away with murder) but a sports pundit? Unless he is spouting political stuff during Match of The Day or a big match who cares? How many actors who have worked with the BBC have given their opinions? Lord Sugar has been mentioned, He's always spouting stuff on social media.

Apparently an episode of a Sir David Attenborough programme has been pulled before airing so as not to upset the Government.

The BBC is an absolute shit show. All this going on while the Director General is in cahoots with Boris.

According to that article, Andre is the one organising it. He's had "creepy stage parent" written all over him for years. He's already had Junior in a recording studio trying to live his music superstar fantasies through him.

Also it describes it as a "four figure deal" which honestly makes it sound kind of pathetic.
I could have sworn he said he wanted Princess to become a nun. 🙄
I suppose now he has his nice, respectable, middle class children with ‘Dr Emily’ he doesn’t have to bother about the ones he had with Price.
Fucking hell I loathe him. ☺

With Gary Lineker's tweets still dominating the news cycle, BBC Sport bosses must be wishing its personnel would stop causing them such headaches. Back in the days when John Motson was king, they never had to worry about what the talent was up to. It was only junior employees who did.

Such as the younger female colleague who accompanied Motty to lunch one time. Most of the meal passed without incident, but shortly before dessert he retrieved a blue pill from his pocket. He showed it to her and asked if she knew what it was. She did. It was Viagra.

He then swallowed it, with the charming line: "You have 20 minutes to make your decision."

Watching the Nepal earthquake documentary on Netflix really opened my eyes to how narcissistic these people are. One rich American guy wanted to CONTINUE climbing after the quake and was like "I have the money/insurance to pay for the best rescue" - meanwhile hundreds/thousands of villagers were trapped under several stories of buildings or lost in the wilderness with no access to help.
The Sherpas are the unsung heroes imo. They climb Everest too, but rarely, if ever, get the same public attention. They are responsible for clearing the routes for the climbers to make it safer before climbing season begins. They carry their luggage and set up camp. Sherpas have died assisting the climbers and yet they earn less than guides from Western countries (the statistic I keep seeing is $4,000 vs $50,000 but haven't fact-checked that). The Nepalese government has refused to compensate them for injury. Many young people are prevented from gaining an education and view working on the mountains as their only way to earn a living. There's lots of ego-driven people wanting to climb Everest, unfortunately. Though, in the climbing community, K2 is seen as the ultimate challenge because of its difficulty. It's the more interesting climb, but extremely dangerous so maybe not as easy to monetise.

Err sorry for that tangent in the middle of a celeb gossip thread. 😅

Yeah he’s gone off the deep end with it all. There’s having an opinion and then there is becoming a one-man obsessive cult
Definitely. I honestly don't know what's up with him psychologically. I thought he might be having a breakdown because his behaviour seems so obsessive. I wonder if he's always been a bit like this or if it's a sudden change?

Many affairs during his first marriage. Allegedly he shagged Ulrika Johnson and Katie Price amongst others. Katie wanted to write about it in one of her books but he stopped her.
One of the original superinjunction kings so I have heard.

I met Matthew Kelly at a charity event a little while before the allegations were made about him. He was absolutely lovely. Very chatty and personable.

I think the allegations badly affected him even though it was all dropped quite quickly. Maybe he prefers to stay out of the limelight these days.

I bet he found our who his friends were, like Paul Gambaccini.
He is really missed from TV. He was always so nice to the contestants on Stars in Their Eyes, he used to go out of his way to put them at ease and you could tell it was genuine.

I can’t stand Linekar but I’m with him here. What he said is irrelevant it’s the heavy handed overreaction which confirms to me my long held view that the Beeb are right wing scum. When people are losing jobs for a comment against the government the UK is turning into 1984.
But when Alan Sugar publicly supported Boris for PM, that was okay for Alan. But when he was previously affiliated with the Labour party The Apprentice was kept off air during election era. It's a blatant double standard by the BBC because it's staffed by ring wing Tory cronies at the top.

Kim Basinger .... what has she done to herself!! I wish these beautiful women would leave their faces alone. She looks like the Bride of Wildenstein.

The Mail love “fresh-faced” for when they want to say “fucking horrific”.

I had quite a profitable business at secondary school selling cigarette's.

I ended up buying 60 a day to sell (plus my own to smoke). I charged 10p each when they were 99p for 20, it went up to 20p each when they reached £1.50.

I was cheaper than the ice-cream van, never got caught in the whole 5 years either.

John Peel married a 15 year old when he was 25, in Texas where is was legal.

I’m so glad Glastonbury is taking his name the stage, it’s long overdue.

If it had been anyone else I would have been interested in watching, it's also such a sad story. But I can't stomach watching s
Smug Matthews
Sorry but I don't think it's that sad. To go to Everest is a rich man's folly. It costs thousands and is an unnecessary ego trip in my mind. No one needs to go up Everest, he was on a jolly and died. They know the risks when they take the challenge on.

believe me, you’re preaching to the choir here 🤣

has a famous man ever been successfully “cancelled”?! i mean, i’ll wait. the only one who faced some degree of career consequences to actions in recent years was will smith!
Will Smith absolutely has not been cancelled. As a previous poster said regarding men in the industry, he’s simply been told to lay low for a bit. I saw he was on the sidebar of shame today at some awards ceremony or something. The comeback and publicity/public apologies etc are on the way.

at least Stephen Bear’s been permanently cancelled, the DM article is particularly brutal, repeatedly referring to him as a ‘pervert’. Justice.

How does one become a civil servant? I quite fancy it. Seems like a nice, cushy job.
I’m a civil servant and I’ve done a ten hour shift today, and I’m doing one on Wednesday and Thursday. My job is far from cushy. I’m totally underpaid for what I have to put up with and the supposed gold plated pension is nothing to speak of!
However if you would like my job i would be more than happy to let you have it 😂😂
