I’d say good riddance to you if you were in my friendship group! She might absolutely love eating what she wants and feel confident at a bigger size. She might go into a dark room and cry for a few days over then pics. She might be battling with her image every day, I’ve been her size, I’m now nearly 5 stone lighter, when you’re that size you’re very much away what size you are, you don’t need friends or family to tell you how big you are to make you feel even worse
100% this.
Someone else's weight is absolutely
NONE of anyone's business and coming at it from the "health concern" angle is just so
bleeping disingenuous because what it actually means is "Christ, you've let yourself go/you're an embarrassment/I don't want to be seen with you"
My boyfriend's parents are going the shaming route with him. It doesn't work. Makes him eat more. In fact, his father said something so rude to him last time he saw him, it left me genuinely open mouthed in horror. My parents have never said anything about my weight (that I can remember) but I tell you something, if my mum had ever said anything like that to me, I'd have slapped her face (and I have never done that as I'm a bit scared of her

) and you know what? She would absolutely know she deserved it.
Well done on your weight loss. I understand the struggle. 48 years of hiding food, eating in secret, binging, compulsive overeating and food addiction ending with a severe depression to the point of being bedridden for two years and thinking of taking my own life because of my weight. Add in multiple sclerosis for 21 of those 48 years just for good measure. I've been a size 10 up to probably a size 32/34 (I stopped buying clothes so I don't know for sure) and everything in between.
But I think I finally have it cracked this time - I've lost just over eight stone in four and a half years. All by myself. I still have a little way to go but I've broken the back of it. I do gentle yoga now daily - I am committed to my practise even on my shittest days. I still battle those food demons every day though.
So, for someone people, it's not as easy as just "eat less and move more" and, to be honest, anyone who says that is a
bleeping ignorant
fool.
By the way, I've never commented on Scarlett before - I have no interest in her - but when I saw her name on the front page, I knew it would be about that Daily Mail photographs.
