I think a lot of episodes of Luther actually have nightmare fuel material in them:-

The guy slithering out from under the bed
The same guy hiding up the loft and floor boards all creaking
The entire Spring Heel Jack episodes were pretty creepy. That mask 😭

The absolute worst from the most recent series: the guy on the night bus.

duck ME 😭🤮
The guy in the mask knocking on doors for me. Im so wary of answering the door now!!

Just seen the new Conjuring film. Really enjoyed it. I still think the first film is my favourite.
Would recommend if you like the conjuring universe. Some good scares and no boring bits. A lot of action and suspense. Would recommend. Love the warrens!

Good to hear. I'll look forward to it.

Talking of the Farmiga's, tonight I watched 'We Have Always Lived In The Castle' starring Taissa Farmiga. It's based on the book by Shirley Jackson. She wrote 'The Haunting of Hill House'. Bit of a weird film. Not a horror and not a thriller. A whole load of nothingness.

However, I do recommend 'Apparitions' (Amazon Prime) with Martin Shaw. It's a BBC thing from 2008 but I found it very watchable. It's about a Catholic Priest who is an Exorcist. Got a bit lost in the middle but all came together in the end. It's apparently quite accurate from a religious point of view.

Another favourite of mine is Dead End from 2003 - It tells the story of a dysfunctional family who find themselves on a neverending road in the middle of a forest during a routine drive on Christmas Eve. It is scary, funny and you are left with that feeling of looking over your shoulder after you have seen it.

The bit with the brain 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

The episode of tales of the unexpected with the old lady and old man on the bus, and also the royal jelly one. They haunt me 😂

Just finished watching the first Conjuring film again. Forgot how truly horrible the exorcism in the basement is when the mother is on the chair under the white sheet 😬 that whole scene is so creepy.

i wouldn’t say scary as such but criminal minds is so disturbing. love the show but some of the episodes are extremely brutal and full of gore 😂 good inbetween if you don’t want a pure horror show.

I have stayed off scary movies for a bit but there was one I have been waiting to watch 'The Seventh Day' with Guy Pearce.

Have to say it was a bit of a let down but I don't know if that is because I have seen so many possession/Exorcism films that I found the story so predictable. Still, it was worth it to watch Guy Pearce.

The original Texas chainsaw massacre. Although I used to laugh at it as a kid, it’s very disturbing and I like the filming style.

I second Eden Lake. Feels very real and leaves you with a raw feeling.

The Descent.

The original version of Martyrs is very disturbing to say the least. Left me very shaken up the first time I watched it because the amount of suffering they put the character through.

Films:

Fire Walk With Me: I found it creepy and unsettling.

Eden Lake: Not a typical horror film but felt so REAL that it was genuinely horrifying.

Hostel: Not so much scary but disgustingly gross.

TV:

Twin Peaks: The typical scariest parts were bad enough but even just the shots with the long pauses where nobody says or does anything creeps me out.

Are you Afraid of the Dark?: Not scary now but as a child - TERRIFYING! 😱😭
I still find some episodes of are you afraid of the dark kind of scary, they have a kind of surreal nightmarish quality, I remember vividly the one with that lift that goes to a floor that doesn't exist or something

I'm a massive fan of The Conjurings but I thought the last one was dreadful 🙈🙈 just found the storyline really lazy and the scares predictable. I love the 1st 2 though, probably my favourite horrors ever.

I don’t really remember the episode and what happened but I’m sure that was called “the tale with the thirteenth floor”

Human centipede 2. Not scary, just plain disgusting. I watched it while trying to show off and be an edgy teen but it disgusted me at the time and still does now.

I've heard things about "A Serbian Film" but my morbid curiosity has never taken me to watch it. Its truly horrific 🤢

I really can't remember the name of the film but my sister and I were watching this trashy horror that had a really graphic rape scene we had to skip. It was really horrible and our TV stopped working during watching. Coincidence definitely and glad we didn't finish the film.

I read the wiki page for a Serbian film. No way. Sounds disgusting and pure torture porn. I feel like it’s one of those films that people want to say they’ve watched just to seem tough 😂 kids on tiktok saying “lmao it’s not that bad”. It’s like a bravado thing. I bet they wished they’d not watched it
