Diary of an Afghan Girl......anyway BACK to the American company's cruise I have just been on!!!
Bloody hell. The absolute cognitive dissonance of that story. It was startling, I actually gasped. I'm seriously going to consider complaining to Disney about that. To use that kind of content as filler between ad material is actually dreadful. They need to be aware of that - particularly given they are an American company. ALL sorts of cultural sensitivities around it, given the current situation. If you don't get that, you should not be using any Afghan material on your stories at all. I'm absolutely fed up seeing this being sandwiched in stories at the moment. Oooh look at me! I'm so kind and empathetic! Here's an #ad. To commercialise this is beyond awful. Have any of these venal consumerists, these shillers of tat, actually bothered doing some research and writing a post about Afghanistan or even sharing someone else's words in a well thought out post?! Oh no. Can't have poor brown people who can't pay for space spoiling my 'gram aesthetic. Why, I wouldn't be able to filter and photoshop them
. Cretins
Sarah - if you are actually, truly, interested in what is going on, follow Dr Mike Martin on twitter. Buy and actually read Theo Farrell's book "Unwinnable". Or even just buy some Sunday broadsheets and read them and watch this week's Question Time or look at Spectator TV. It's on bloody youtube! Basically - get your head our of arse and realise that your behaviour is totally unacceptable and offensive to many.
I am also going to send a copy of this post and the stories to my MP and the DCMS select committee they are all crying and bawling to about Tattle. I think some context is required here and I struggle to think of a single MP who would find this acceptable.
