Absolutely agree the Met are stretched/underfunded. Was just questioning what the other poster meant when saying covered up. I don't believe it was, however was it missed/not taken as seriously?

Not all men are bad and how do you know men aren’t listening? Some will - some won’t. Just like most women wouldn’t commit murder - but some do.

Seems a better idea than Birmingham who are actually having a vigil in the city centre @6pm Saturday. I won’t be joining nor wanting my daughter to. Mainly because Birmingham city centre is just not safe at any time never mind that time of night sadly. But also there’s the obvious COVID risk although it clearly states masks and social distancing it’s just not appropriate in my opinion. But other than these concerns I would absolutely love to take a stand along with my daughter and other women just not sure how. I will light a candle at home I know that’s not nearly enough but that’s the only thing I can think to do right now.I live in Glasgow and we’re having a “virtual” reclaim these streets rally. Which is light at a candle at 6pm tomorrow. But it just feels completely inadequate. There’s got to be more that we can do.
It feels like a moment of cultural reckoning. I really hope it is.

I think one of the most upsetting things about this case (for me) is the situation with the body / remains. I think one part of the grief process is being able to say goodbye. I can't imagine how it would feel not be able to hold or give your loved one a last kiss, it's heartbreaking. It's just bonkers to think that whatever the police have found could be all the family have 
No one is judging men based off of one mans actions. We are judging men based on our own experiences with them.
It seems that the general agreement is that they ignored the allegations but we don't actually know that, and it's where underfunding would come in because they wouldn't have been aware of the allegation, or possibly had given it a lower priority because something more important would have come up
I'd honestly be interested to see how many allegations don't go investigation due to underfunding too since I never really considered it
The constant victim blaming is a good little example of this. Men who claim they wouldn't do it themselves, but then say 'oh but she was walking alone in the dark' (or whatever). What else? The whole men vs men argument has the same vibes really, that somehow a whole gender (more or less 50% of the country I'm guessing) is scared to exist freely and have modified their behaviour to try and avoid such stuff, but I guess that's fine because 'not all men would do it!'
It doesn't matter if not all men do it, we don't know which man is going to be the man to do it.

My eldest was assaulted on her way back from school by a pupil at her school in the Upper year. She told him no when he asked for a kiss, so he decided to pull her hair back and kiss her anyway!!
I also went through something when I was 15 and still to this day my parents still do not know, luckily my eldest daughter told us and all the right people and it did get sorted.

I wouldn’t say his a man doing what he did, his an animal! No punishment is enough for someone who takes away someone else’s life like he apparently has.
If I went off the experience I had with my ex I would never of trusted another man again.
Women rarely commit murder and I cannot believe you do not understand that women HAVE to assume that all men are bad in order to stay safe.

The issue is, obviously it's not all men, but we can't tell which men are good and bad just from looking at them, or even being mildly acquainted with them. They don't wear a special hat saying 'I am going to grope you' 'I am going to hurt you during sex', so therefore we have to be wary of all of them. So yes, all men.
In my work place a male team member was harassing a female customer and having and making inappropriate comments and interactions with both female staff and customers myself included. He once tried to show me pictures of a semi naked female customer that she had sent to him. When I said I didn’t want to see he laughed and told me I was jealous. The female customer he harassed boyfriend came into my workplace while I was on shift and aggressively wanted to know what would be done about said team member he said he would come back when the team member was on shift and deal with him himself. Well that never happened I took the brunt of his aggression. I reported all of this to the then female manager she laughed it off as oh well maybe the female he was accused of harassing wants/likes his attentions. This team member did exactly as he pleased at work all allowed by the female manager until he fully overstepped the mark with another manger and then our manager gave him the heads up and told him to quit before he was sacked. My point being that many of this young mans actions be them sexually inappropriate or things like oh he shouldn’t have to iron he’s a man. These things were allowed by WOMEN in my workplace.
