This has really hit home as a woman. We may not know her but we are "her". We're told to follow all these rules to keep ourselves safe and look what still happens.

Sorry but who cares?Perhaps she had a few drinks when visiting the friend? When you are drunk you’re more likely to take more risks?
I saw a man on twitter compare her walking home alone at around 9 at night (people are talking like it was 3 in the morning or something) to leaving a parked car with the keys in it. Comparing a woman to a car.People will do and say anything just to justify the men's actions. Why was she out alone, why was she walking at night, why was she there, why was she wearing this, why did she speak to him, why did she smile, why did she exist... I am heartbroken that it now appears to be a murder. I've heard and read and protested against so many horrible things like this over the past few years, I feel like I and every woman around me has second hand trauma from only what we hear, let alone what we have experienced. And the feeling of helplessness... My heart goes out to her family. No punishment would be enough.
Thanks Davina for reminding us that men's feelings are always more important than women's safety.Davinia McCall's got into controversy over comments on this affair.

Davina McCall slammed for defending men in wake of Sarah Everard case
Davina McCall has been criticised after saying it is “dangerous” to “call out all men” amid a conversation about safety in the wake of Sarah Everard’s suspected murder.www.standard.co.uk
It doesn’t matter if she was drunk. She didn’t consent to being kidnapped and murdered.Perhaps she had a few drinks when visiting the friend? When you are drunk you’re more likely to take more risks?
I hate the #notallmen quote. It's not brag worthy that you wouldn't murder, kidnap, assault or rape a woman.I've been catching up with this as well - it's just so awful.
It's exhausting being a woman, it really is - the news will be all filled with her actions, people will be blaming her for being out / being out at night / being at a friends and twitter was trending with notallmen last night (ffs)
I'm not quite sure how to articulate it properly but how about we work on why it's so unsafe for us to be alone anywhere at anytime of the sodding day because of men?
This poor woman![]()
Under the anonymity of tattle. I will say it did cross my mind when she first went missing- why was she visiting a friends house in lockdown? This is so horrific and it disgusts me that people on Twitter are actually questioning the fact that she was at a friends house during lockdown!?!
