I wish this would be a global thing so women could know some peace. Boils my blood when people start telling us what to do instead of lecturing these pests on what not to do. The fact that they need to be lectured on not murdering women or not raping women is a whole other story.
I remember a thread in the Off Topic forum asking what you would do if there were no men on earth for 24 hours. Vast majority of the comments were "go on a walk at night". Makes me want to scream that "the dream" is to be able to go on a walk at night or somewhere quiet without fearing for our life. If I see one more person going #notallmen or #SomeMen I'll set something on fire. Sick to the back teeth of this global rotten system that protects and justifies men, wherever you go.
Not all men is honestly just a gross statement that needs to GTFO. Noone has *ever* accussed 'all men'. Not one time. The point is, in terms of fear it may aswell be every man when you have no way of identifying which men are the problem, especially when that now extends to a Met Police Officer. Most men will never understand how it feels to not even be able to take a short 5 minute walk to your car in the dark without scanning your horizon like a deer in headlights, holding your keys between your knuckles so tight they almost turn transparent, picking up your pace whenever you feel a presence behind you, the instant gutwrenching lurch in your stomach when someone traces your exact steps and you think "is this it?", then not even being able to get in your car without checking the backseats and locking the doors behind you. Men, when you do experience that, feel free to make this about you, but until then, no.
My heart absolutely breaks for Sarah and all I can pray is that any suffering was minimal and quick, god I hope she didn't have time to know at all. The rum who did this on the other hand, who doesn't even deserve naming, I hope he rots and then some.

They've found remains and said they can be identified by dental records. Yet they are still searching. This makes me think that either they did not find a whole body or something makes them think there may be other dead victims hidden.
I worked in the NHS and was assaulted by a patient who said he knew the town I lived in, had overheard conversations with colleagues about my private & personal life. I tried to brush it off and exit the small side room he was in and as I left he touched my bum. Told me he enjoyed watching me bend over and then said he’d see me at the weekend. I was crying by the time I got to the office and told my colleagues who told me he had actually been convicted of stalking & assaulting female carers and that I should’ve been told that I shouldn’t go in there alone. I’d been there a year before this incident. I told management who told me to let it go, he was joking must have been banter. I cried in the toilets for a good hour before I could pick myself up and continue my job. After that incident I refused to go in a side room with any male patient alone. They honestly didn’t care about the incident, probably because it would’ve been a PR disaster. I felt humiliated and vile but no one cared
in hindsight I should’ve taken it further however I was naive and no one seemed to care. I googled his name and he had made the news with his convictions.So many locations are being searched as well. I really can’t get my head around it it’s so awful.
Isn’t this even more sinister that he has been doing this for a while undetected. Again - if this is the case his wife would know something (whatever her origin was!!!)

I saw one one of the websleuths threads that the woodland area they are searching, people were known to leave dead sheep there?! perhaps discovered bones that need to be identified as animal/human.

SOME Women are every bit as bad in this situation, they're busy trying to work out why the poor men kill them. We must have reasons you see, its important to understand why, so that it never happens again.

Literally no ones calling out all men for being murderers. Wait till she finds out how sexual assault impacts women’s mental health.

She has an excellent point, its ridiculous to label all men as dangerous but it is an all men responsibility to address this.
No she absolutely is not. Women can have so many more things happen to them than just murder and abduction. It’s not bleeping fear mongering almost every single female can tell a story where a man has made them feel uncomfortable or even gone further than just making them feel uncomfortable.
Really hope they say it can go ahead. It seems a joint vigil/ protest is what people are after. I think it’s worrying they’ve banned protests and if they don’t allow it then people will probably show up anyway.A vigil for Sarah has been declared unlawful but there is a High Court challenge being made to that decision.

People are pissed off, they should have a right to protest in this instance! We’re sick of being treated like rit.
There’s also the added issue of the Met saying you can’t attend a vigil for a woman that was killed by one of our own officers(!!)
This is the point. Why should we be vigilant? Why can’t we just walk without the fear of someone doing something to us
It’s scary to think that and I can only go on what I’ve read but without that fleeting bus CCTV that sounds vital, and without that they may never have picked him up.
I think Davinas comments come from a good place, but she is missing the point slightly. Yes murder and abduction is very rare, but violence towards women isn’t at all. Look at the list Jess Philips MP read out in the Commons yesterday 117 women and girls have being killed by men in the last year.
