Regarding his appeal, I would refer back to my comments on post #145. I've not read the details, just that he's appealing his sentence, but I would add to my previous comments that another basis for his appeal could be that the judge ignored his very early guilty pleas and gave him absolutely no credit for them at all (usually, it would entitle you to a third off your sentence)

The fact he’s launched an appeal shows he has absolutely no remorse (not that it would matter, he can’t undo what he did). But still, proves even more he deserves everything he got. If he really understood the gravity of what he’s done, he would agree he shouldn’t ever see the light of day again.
I think, as I have said before, this case is such (I hope) an exception because of the whole police aspect of it that general rules could be slightly changed (not a legal expert, of course lol) I wouldn't be shocked if, in the case he was released early, he didn;t just end up being murdered by a member of the public tbh
I originally commented that he only pleaded guilty early to hopefully secure a lesser sentence. This appeal just proves my point. He was never remorseful the sick b.
I’d like to think that too but within the last 2 days I have read about 2 active police officers being arrested for a grape that he committed last weekend and the other as being a child sexual offender. It’s absolutely sickening
god that is beyond awful, I never really had any opinion about the police (I have never had to deal with them tbh) but this whole event has been really shocking for how many other cases have come to light and my opinion has changed totally. I don't even know what the answer is, would maybe putting more women (i.e. more than 50% )in the force help?
Mark Hobson who killed 4 people appealed on that basis. The Court of Appeal spent about 30 secs considering that and rejected it.
But that's four people as opposed to one and that is also one of the examples listed in the sentencing guidelines to qualify for a whole life order (the murder of two or more persons where each murder involves a substantial degree of premeditation, the abduction of the victim, or sexual or sadistic conduct)

I did think the same tbh @SpanishPink. But @emm she said she's so surprised as he wasn't aggressive or abusive to her, she never saw that side etc but as someone said physcopaths can hide it well.
true. I guess we shouldn't speculate as people can easily hide aspects of their lives, especially in a job like policing where work hours are pretty erratic etc. I feel bad for her as people will probably endlessly speculate that she did know
