She fancies herself as the next Nora Ephron
Oh duck don't. You are so right. She is her literary hero. It's going to be called Pretty something I imagine. So I suppose it is a sort of autobiography if it covers all aspects of her (very personal) life. The trick is to not repeat any of it back to her as that apparently counts as 'deep research'.
I didn't watch her latest IGTV about foundations as they are all far too dear for me but argh I have to say she is being very helpful and polite in the comments. No snippiness. No snark. Just actually pleasant. I don't get why it has been so difficult?

How many four year olds know what a writer is/does? Mind you, our heroine has always been very advanced & ahead of the pack in all things. Been using/doing/liking stuff for YEARS before anyone else. I wonder if the new book (part lifestyle guide, part memoir no doubt) is one of the reasons she went ballistic on Freaky Friday - all this negging isn’t good for pre-publicity or pre-orders. Plus she may be having to furiously re-write some of her false memory syndrome anecdotes now she has realised we’re not stupid. And the chapters on good manners on social media, supporting the sisterhood & bullying will need editing. Poor old Hughes.

Either she's reading here or the new management company had a word

Bet her face is still sore from the fake smiling that she had to do on the train with that hair device. I'm not convinced she'd morph into a more pleasant online presence just by reading here, must have come from an external source.

Agree. Wonder if the new management is specifically because of freaky Friday?

She will have been told “we need to work on your likeability”

The irony is that I know of celebrities whose efforts to increase their likeability (hate that word but it’s what it’s known as) involved getting a dog or two. (Yes it’s that basic but it works - you see pics of the celebs caring for an animal, usually dressed-down when they walk it. So caring! So relatable! It’s all calculated for a lot of them). SH has gone so overboard with her #adoptdontshop rubbish that the virtue-signalling overrides the virtue by a long shot.

Likeability is such an interesting concept. What is it that makes Lisa Eldridge, for example, so likeable?

If, as has been suggested, we're motivated here by jealousy shouldn't we be beside ourselves with jealousy for LE? Hugely successful, internationally renowned, vast social media following, glamorous lifestyle, lovely looking, enviable wardrobe (by me at least), beautiful home, a seemingly happy family life.

I think part of her likeability is being indisputably good at what she does. You feel she deserves her success.

Also, there's never a hint of her criticising or complaining - which rarely plays well. I don't think it's that we don't want celebrities and social media figures to have negative feelings or opinions but because we want to feel that they're aware of their privilege and good fortune and that any complaints they may have pale in comparison to the real hardship of many people's lives.

As regards likeability, I started following Esther Coren on Instagram after people mentioned her here and she just comes across as such a likeable person. She just seems very down to earth and and able to laugh at herself etc, just 'normal'.

Sali always seems to be on some kind of (self appointed) pedestal and gives off a 'stay away from me' air. She's not relatable to the average woman.

Of course she remembers the jubilee, I remember coming out of my mother and seeing the portrait of our then leader (Josip Broz Tito) on the opposite wall.

How do you prioritize what gets your time and attention each day?
What I’m being paid for comes first. It sounds mercenary, but I’m a freelancer. I am paid only for what I do and my family needs food and heating.

and school fees

" I do think that being showered, dressed and made up at a reasonable hour makes me more productive than writing in my pajamas, tempting though that is."
apart from when darling Mary G does my no-make up make-up in my desmond and dempsey £120 pyjamas for my book, obvs

LE/EC never lower themselves. Not in an aloof way. You can't even imagine either of them being snippy and nasty on their Insta because it just wouldn't occur to them. They have better things to do. They have grace and make the whole thing look effortless. Secure in themselves.

SH is out for battle. Elbowing and shouldering her way through her career.

Me too, too! Also like the way Giles seems to be game to join in.
Me four. She’s lovely and funny, and not at all up herself. Unlike She Who Must Not Be Named. (I think of her as Lady Voldemort. She's got the smooth creaseless face, the army of slavish fans... Quite apt really.)

That’s all to do with insecurity and imposter syndrome - which in Sali’s case is due to the fact that she IS an imposter. And its not just to do with elbowing and shouldering her way through life - she’s metaphorically thrown people under the bus (Lauren Luke) and tormented others, either through jealousy or through a misguided sense of superiority (Dawn and Esther).

She also seems to be quite pretentious. I remember some of us were saying on the FB group that we had to adopt RP accents and lose our own when we went to boarding school in an effort to fit in (I used to have an Israeli twang courtesy of my parents which I really miss) and she suddenly piped up saying, « lots of people think I am posh » That wasn’t the point of the conversation you stupid cow. And you can’t insist that you are hard core working class whilst also trying to assume airs and graces that don’t belong to you. She can’t even pronounce taupe properly. It’s tope (like rope) not torp you idiot.

With the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall coming up, wondering how Sali will tediously link onto that?

"At the time, I was a homeless runaway teenager, and whilst on the streets, I saw a wall."

I have been issued a warning by @admin for posting a hidden link... Guys, I did it once to show the guys on this thread how Sali and The Assistant might be tracking our whereabouts. Not for any malicious intention. Honest!! 😢

I can't top this one but I'm a year older than the snippy one and I have vague memories of the jubilee party. I remember my dad wheelbarrow racing me down the street 😆

I do remember Tito dying mind, it was on BBC News. Also remember Enver Hoxha's death for some reason.

ETA: glad some of you found the scalp thingy link I posted helpful! I just love mine. Funny how little things can make a big difference.
