Would love to be the lucky assistant who gets to painstakingly match IP address (this lie that influencers spread explained here) from the SHB forums to Twitter and Instagram profiles for the sake of their employers pettiness and vanity. So pathetic... not to mention ineffective.

Well, that's me proved wrong. I did think that after the Friday video SH would have reflected that she was better off not engaging with Tattle Life. I even thought - Pollyanna that I am - that she would take on board some of the concerns that had been raised here.

I do still think it's a shame that these discussions couldn't have taken place - openly and constructively and without the piss-taking - within SH's social media and in the Guardian comments rather than being blocked/moderated out. They could even have provided material for her writing: what does it mean to be an honest beauty journalist these days? can a journalist also be an influencer? is a beauty influencer entitled to privacy about her own cosmetic procedures?

Sadly, narcissists can’t abide measured debate. They only know it as dissent.

Action for what? Taking the piss? That I would love to see. Maybe she is thinking people are starting to forget her appalling internet history of bullying over a long period of time. Maybe she has actually lost her job at The Guardian and is blaming here. Maybe she is firefighting to distract attention away from something shadier .

No, because then you would need access to a certain platform’s internal IP logs to be able to cross reference. I can’t see FB and Twitter giving that up without a warrant.

Oh I DEFINITELY believe that Sali is a racist. A person can be a racist whilst being married to a non-white/Jewish person, having non-white/Jewish kids or friends/colleagues, etc. She’s clearly one of those who thinks that saying “oh I can’t be racist, I have SO many x friends”. That kind of BS doesn’t wash anymore, Sali and Lauren. We’re in 2019 now. Get with the bleeping program.

I think it’s a case of cross referencing a lot of profiles, comments, SM accounts. Also, in some cases just blocking random accounts AND newly added members.

No, the Twitter poll is something else. What I mean by adding a shortened link to twitter is if I got the proper long link to the guardian home page, shortened it on grabify or IP Logger and then posted the shortened link to Twitter or elsewhere.

I would then have the details of everyone who has clicked on the link.

Seriously could you ever see any of SH idols ever giving a single tit about comments about themselves on Tattle? I would assume they understand it goes with the territory. I just spent a very enjoyable hour watching on YT Jimmy Kimmel's Mean Tweets where celebs read out genuine horrible tweets about themselves. Really really worth a look. Very funny. Not saying abuse is right (not that I think SH gets abuse here) but ffs get some perspective.
