This is an excellent way of determining people’s accents. With my accent, I’d suggest ‘Sali Hughes: Arsey, brassy and not very classy’ but then I speak like an extra from The Crown 💁‍♀️
That's how I'd say it too, and I'm not British

Its definitely softens the dark/ white contrast! I use one I get in Waitrose/Holland and Barrett Naturtint. Just looked on line and H and B do a smile permanent one too which could be intreresting to try.
Oh I’ve been looking at this one - is it good?

Do you not find it a bit hard to spread? It's sort of like peanut butter on fresh bread on my face
to be honest no, it goes on easy over my normal skincare. If I am putting makeup on, I wait maybe 10 minutes or so. Wonder if you got a dodgy batch?

Could she be referring to the fact teachers are assessing for results this year not exams? I think a lot of parents are discouraged about this because it’s unknown how the grades will be conjured up.
Oh that's a good point, I didn't realise it was that way in the UK. Have deleted my comment!

I try to keep my hair fairly low maintenance - cut every 6 weeks, all over chestnut brown colour every 3rd appointment for the shine it provides - but the grey coming through is now really obvious. So now my hairdresser is gradually lightening the base colour (this will take time) and has added some subtle highlights to take the edge off the grey regrowth. I love it as it is still close to my natural colour and feels comfortably 'me'. I consider it to be a process rather than a hurdle, but then I don't have to provide click-worthy content by doing 'brave' things.
Do you mind me asking how much it is every 6 weeks to get done. I’ve never been to a hairdresser to colour mine, and I have no idea what roughly I should be paying.

I'm still trying to figure out the cause of my hair loss, fatigue, and aching joints/muscles. My iron came back normal (after being seriously anemic last year), but my ferritin was still low, so I'm trying heme iron supplements. They ruled out autoimmune and celiac
have they checked your thyroid? Hair loss can have so many causes for me it seems to point to a double whammy of underactive thyroid and not enough vitamin D (which probably both influence each other anyway). My doc will discuss the results with me next week but I got the numbers from the lab.

Erm it wasn’t meant literally- I meant did she really ‘runaway’, was she at all the seminal places she claimed to be etc. On no level would I actually consider hiring a PI. Behave people!😂
Why wouldn’t we think you were being literal? It’s also how an outsider (or BBC / graun) would prob see it and then believe we are creepy? 🤷‍♀️

I feel for her as her hair has not turned out as she had hoped it would. Colourists who specialise in grey hair don’t dye the roots, they match the rest of your grey pattern to blend it as you grown out the natural grey.

I’m not sure why Sali decided to go fully grey when she had so little silver - it would have covered easily with natural henna. Seems and even stranger decision when she can’t use the products needed for the process to be effective.
Her hair is now super ash blonde. Some low lights to match her roots might help and would mean much less upkeep.
I'm late to the party and have about twenty pages to read. I actually like the hair colour on her, and when she does eventually rethink get colour tones for make up and clothes I think she'll look cool. But OMG does it need a good cut. That needs lifting off her shoulders, it would look thicker, healthier and remove some of the brass.

Not at all - I imagine cost varies wildly depending on where you are, but in my provincial middle-England location I pay £30 for a cut and blow dry, and then £80 for the colour with a cut, definitely more than Sali does ;). My hairdresser has worked so hard to establish her business over the years and I am really happy to support her, I wouldn't go anywhere else even if it was a freebie.
Thank you! 😘

Sorry but I don’t agree - she was certainly a journalist before an influencer.
I don’t think she wears masks, she just thinks she’s very special and cool and unique.

First post on the Sali forum! I asked a pretty innocuous question about the hair which she answered and then a few days later I got blocked! Blimey! I was wracking my brain as to why she took offence, still can’t work it out. I feel all is not well on planet Sal.
What did you say?
