I find it a strange choice to go to a teaching academy for such a ‘complex case’. Nothing against them, I think they are great ways of getting a cut or colour and I’ve used them on several occasions in my 20s. But surely she wanted to have it done by the best hairdresser she had access to. My guess is that no experienced paid hairdresser would have not taken her ‘complex case’ on under the terms of doing it in one go like she wanted. A good colourist would have explained the dangers of over processing and tried to sway her to do it in stages or offer alternative ways of dealing with the greys without the need to bleach.
Her hair now looks muddy and uneven because it was not lifted enough in the first place. Lifting to white blonde would have achieved the base to give her the grey final effect she was after but that’s super hard and damaging to the hair.
She could still pursue that in a while but it would mean yet more bleaching the hair and maybe a lot of the lengths taken off to deal with the damage. Sali would look great with a shorter, below the chin bob.

@The Dowager in the course of giving @SqualorVictoria a dose of her own medicine and enabling her to succumb Lisa Eldridge, I’m afraid the spell sailed past and hit me 😭 everything I wanted was still in stock, lipstick, gloss and highlighter.

in my defence, last 2 launches I have bought for other people who dearly wanted some LE products and they were over the moon with their gifts. I’ve never tried them myself! So excited!!

Is it true that Sali isn’t a fan of Lisa Eldridge?

With the grey hair, I thought all beauty journos worth their salt would say not to have your hair go so light in one sitting?

ok that's good. I'm glad that my GP is very open to suggestions. He ordered the blood test immediately and added things I suggested to the list of tests. Then again I pay for every test so he does not have to keep within a strict budget. Does your gyn say why she is reluctant to order tests? I mean they're fairly straightforward and don't cost that much in comparison...

they're really nice lipsticks. I got three before Christmas. They have a very satisfying click.
The magnetic case is a very lovely touch - but I don’t wear lipstick enough to warrant any more.

Hm, not sure, but I think I recall her saying once that Lisa is an MUA, while she's a journalist herself. Sounded to me like she doesn't like to be compared to her.

I don’t know how you can care about beauty and not be. However, she does have all the Vogue covers, wide range of experience and actual a list celebrity connections (and personal friends) that Sali craves so maybe she is just jealous.

Also she is just really nice. And her husband is also mega successful (so I think as a couple they are truly minted). She bought Audrey hepburn’s lipstick on auction and wouldn’t say how much she spent because she said was ridiculous and not what she intended - but I looked it up. It was over £20k.

Before she did her own jewellery range she had these three coloured stone rings by William wellstead that were probably 5 to 10K each and she has made more affordable versions that she also always wears now.

not at all to say she doesn’t deserve those things at all - i think she is amazing. And also from an ordinary background, single mother no less. She gives her ad revenue to charity, doesn’t merch except her own products.

She sounds a very good egg , no side to her and and a genius at what she does.

I could see Sali being jealous of the beautiful, multi talented and well connected Lisa , maybe Lisa was invited onto ITB and said no thanks?

I still maintain that Lisa is the celebrity makeup artist that Sali referred to in Pretty Honest. The one that did her first wedding makeup that she didn't like

Anytime she did an In The Bathroom there would be multiple comments from Sali's followers asking for Lisa and there was never any reply from Sali. But then she'd get someone else on and say 'this has been my most requested ITB ever' despite the fact that Lisa was also the one that people would ask about in the comments. It's also so strange how she has never reviewed any of her products but has made a fuss over Jamie Genevieve's makeup launch. Surely Sali's demographic would be more interested in Lisa?

And turning down that Lisa interview for her makeup documentary over the book deadline? Come on! For a beauty nerd (self titled) that would have been too huge

Mary Greenwell did Sali’s makeup (gifted obvs).

Mary Greenwell has done at least two tutorials for Lisa’s channel.

Maybe Lisa doesn’t work for free

Eta just meaning that they are all connected and know each other. Both are fabulous make up artists.

Ughhh I don't really wear lipstick, but I just had a look and I want a LE one! How long do I have to wait?

I'm a blusher fan so I'm very interested in those being restocked. Are they lovely?

Sali's hair...the heart wants what it wants with hair, sometimes. I reckon if she had it cut shorter and stopped with the baby poo pallette it would actually look quite cool - if she went more back to her old look when she had a fringe and red lipstick, and didn't wear that gold jewellery.

ETA I don't think she should get a fringe now.

The blushes are a new release, so no reviews yet! They will be out by the time there's an autumn restock though. I'm also keen to get one when they restock!

Mary Greenwell did her second wedding. She has never named the makeup artist who did her first and my theory is that it was Lisa

There does seem to be something odd there going back ages. And often more what she doesn't say or do. Silly things. Eg at the back of Sali's book Pretty Honest she had a long list of beauty and makeup specialists to watch on YT - no Lisa - who many would consider THE best for online tutorials.
Sali studiously ignores all the requests for Lisa to be a subject on In The Bathroom - never ever replies to any comments mentioning L though will to other suggestions.
She has never reviewed Lisa's products which is wierd. The only comment I've seen is in reply to a direct question on IG about the lipsticks - an icy 'I have heard good things about them'. Not the usual 'Yes! LOVE. I have them all'.
After a beauty event years ago Sali went to with lots of other beauty people, someone on Get The Look asked her excitedly 'was Lisa Eldridge there? I love her - what is she like?'. Sali's reply 'Lisa was there'.
Recently (and I can't remember the context and in answer to a query) Sali said Lisa wasn't a beauty writer but a makeup artist.
I'm sure there are other examples.

So she has never said or done anything terrible - it is just wierd. Sali always seems so odd when Lisa is mentioned when she can be so gushing about others in the same industry.

I can't remember the question either but she had said something like 'we're totally different. She's a makeup artist and I'm a writer'. Despite the fact that Lisa has written a best seller book

Don’t want to de-rail the Sali chat, but did anyone get anything from Lisa’s new collection?

I went with the intention of buying a lipstick and a blusher and ended up with 2 x lipsticks, 2 x blushers and a lip gloss ………
I managed not to this time after having gone overboard last time on lipsticks which I haven't yet worn.

I have too much else on my wishlist and I don't look good in a satin or shiny finish. But when she brings out more Velvet shades I doubt I'll be able to resist.

Ah, I was going to buy those and Rose Official! Let me know how you get on with them, please :giggle:
I had Painterly, Spirited Away and Rose Official in my basket but didn't check out.
