I also can't think of any Indian restaurant I like that isn't run by Indian people. Same with Italian and no doubt many others

It's funny how Sali told people to seek out an Indian brow threader but counts the Chili pickle that's run by gap year tourists as her favourite Indian restaurant

This book will really be the gift that keeps on giving.

What I don't understand is that Sali's demographic will already have a lot of life experience and won't need things like contraceptive and poaching eggs Salisplained to them.

A life guide might be handy for a teenager but a teenager is not likely to read a book on the subjects mentioned.

So who the hell is it for?
Her ego?

It’s these sorts of replies that first made me wonder. But then I’d tell myself, why does she have to ‘be nice’ when she’s a woman - as I know I’d reply to messages like that saying something like ‘ooh yes, I agree, thanks’ but I’m a people pleaser and it’s probably not my best trait! I think women should do less of that. BUT - then doesn’t it work both ways, if you’re not going to try to make people like you, can you be so thin skinned when they make it clear they don’t?

If you don’t suffer fools gladly, then a thick skin might also be needed against those that think you’re a fool. Hence again, I could not be an influencer!
I don't think it's anything to do with being a woman, it's being a decent and kind human

A Mother Theresa quote, how interesting. I wonder do they realise that Mother Theresa herself didn't give any of the money raised by her charity to people in need and actively encouraged pain and suffering

She is now actually using the horrendous experiences that NHS staff have gone through to promote her own personal ‘brand’. I don’t think she can sink any lower.
And the charity also offers her a shield against any criticism too. It's so calculated

Re the curry discussion above, I get the whole mansplaining thing, but I would have broken myself laughing if, instead of responding’you have good taste’ he’d replied ‘STFU whitey’ 😂
It doesn't have a mansplaining tone to me at all 🤷‍♀️

Just reads like someone a bit excited to talk about their cuisine

I noticed on the Superdrug website yesterday for the Beauty Banks bags they described Sali as an 'influencer'. It's been changed today to 'an expert content creator'. Not sure what's worse 🤭
I wonder if she had a word?! She really isn't an expert content creator, her content is atrocious from both an audience and client standpoint - she can't even tag brands correctly in her ads fgs!

Modder Russia say Commrade Hughes must commit body and soul also to Red, not just mind. Red should be state of State.

Ven ve have red socialist state wid no Tories, novone vill need to rely on ze bourgeoizie conzumption of her bag to get hygiene productz. Her bag is only half red! Full state of mind full red!

One of her followers is calling for her to become a Dame on the back of this makeup bag. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Most forums are anonymous but SHB wasn't with people openly posting photos and many having their real name. That ended up being it's downfall. I wonder is that why Sali can't get her head around 'anonymous trolls'. But anonymity for forums is a more common practice than the open nature of hers
I quite liked that openness - it’s what allowed for so many to become friends. I think the problem was the cliques - Sali with her “Shed” guys and the clique of people she favoured. Anyone who agreed with her viewpoint was ok, and those who had dissenting views (no matter how well founded) were demonised and quashed very quickly.

Here - people do dissent but differing viewpoints are heard and respected (at least on the Sali threads) and bigotry is shown the door very quickly. There, apologism for racism and homophobia was rife.

The problem, to be quite honest, was Sali herself and the mean girls culture she encouraged and actively perpetuated. That was what led to the mass departure of members a few years ago on the forum.

Serves her right.

I agree @melfish

He was clearly making pleasant conversation. Sali's snippy response would have been the same towards a woman, we've all seen similar responses towards women who have dared to comment

Man, who wants to see her half-arsed dinners?

I guess she can't be racist if she eats "quick noodles"

If I have to see this, you do as well.

Yes. I’ve unfollowed her but this still appeared in my stories because some other wanker had reposted it. Does she not realise how utterly ridiculous she is?
Only about a year late. I stopped bothering with makeup for Teams calls about 10 months ago. And I'm sure everyone who still wears it has it figured out by now..

If it’s “obvs” why say?

NB: Influencers don’t have to state when they’ve paid for good and services, only when they have received them free of charge, in exchange for a mention or paid to do so. The only acceptable hashtag, in the eyes of the ASA is #AD (and it should be at the start of the post/reel/story, in clear, easily readable font of a size and colour that is obvious to the viewer).

Actually whoever filmed that Hush video did manage to make it look a bit shit. I don't think in real life it is - but it looked - well just grim there.
Quite a skill to make a lovely seaside look so unappealing.
I certainly wouldn't bother to go there to receive instruction from the sea - don't think I'd like what it told me.

Can’t she just say thank you when she’s given a compliment, the rude bitch?
Right! People take precious time out of their day to support her, watch her crap, engage with her posts (which helps her take in £££ with advertisers) and the attitude she has is extraordinary! What an entitled ****!

Right but what have the NHS workers got to do with poverty? They gave luxury pamper packages to NHS workers.
Agreed - I can understand Trussell Trust and other food banks - that fits in with the charity brand. But the NHS simply does not. Most people agree a lot of NHS staff are overworked and do an amazing job - but it still does not explain why an anti poverty charity would give them luxury skincare. There is no link.
I'm afraid a sentimentality around the NHS last year clouded their judgement and their core charity principles and objectives. Of course it was nice for tired, extremely stressed workers to get treats - but that surely was not the point of Beauty Banks?
