I watched some of the Nadine and Sali video and it might just be me but they struck me as two women who can't stand each other and were gritting their teeth throughout

Isn't it? I think it is the [Laughs]. This is a pile on of a woman by journalists and celebrities. Disgusting behaviour.
Yes, I think you’re right, it’s the [laugh] that hits. It implies it was no big deal for her to do, no shame. Such a bad look, Sali

And in the very same interview where she says she hates 'mean'. WTF.

Which by the letter of the law he 100% was. Grim.
By the letter of the law he could be guilty of child sexual abuse, but being a paedophile isn't actually a crime (and not strictly the right term for someone attracted to a 15 year old anyway). You'd have to be completely mad to share a flat with this man, make friends with the child he's abusing, get her a job, and not call the police or her family. and they're still best friends to this day? Even though she enabled her grooming?

She's not a drug taker, generally. 🤷‍♀️

Could you explain what you mean by this?
I think they mean that it isn't a crime to be attracted, but is a crime to act on that attraction?

(I once read a piece about support for paedophiles, in Germany there are some support structures that deal with non-offending paedophiles in a public health kinda way like AA meetings, and a British guy who had never acted on his urges couldn't find any support here, so moved to Germany for the support. He still didn't get a candle named after him tho, not even in Germany.)

There's a special name for people who are attracted to adolescents, so technically they're not paedophiles. Hebephiles or something like that.

Paedophilia is the name of the disorder, not the crime, meaning an attraction to prepubescent children. Not all paedophiles act on the compulsion, and there are actually support groups out there for paedophiles who recognise their disorder and don't want to act on it. Hebephilia is the correct term for attraction to pubescent/early adolescent children, generally around 11-14, and ephebophilia (rarely used) is attraction to late adolescents, generally 15+.

None of these are prosecutable offences - if someone were to act on them (and the victim was under 16, or under 18 in some cases) then they what they would be guilty of in the eyes of the law would be child sexual abuse (which covers a range of more specific crimes).

But he did act on it? A 15 year old is a child
Yes absolutely, I was responding to the post that said "by the letter of the law" he was a paedophile, saying that isn't actually a crime; the crime is child sexual abuse.

Technically this person was/is a ephebophile, acted on an attraction to a 15 year old, and should have been charged with sexual activity with a child.

If my housemate brought a 15 year old child to live with us I’d be on the phone to social services not giving her a bleeping job.
As a Mom this is horrifying. Kids are not ‘adults’ even at 18. Well, just my opinion - still got growing to do. That must have been a really difficult relationship and unusual I would imagine. Sad.

Splitting hairs. Having sex with a 15-year-old runaway he groomed is just vile. That a woman enabled it is unbelievable

I mean, paedophile is the common parlance for an adult who engages in sexual interaction with anyone under the age of consent. I appreciate that there may be more specialist terms used by those who work in/study this area, but for the purposes of general discussion on this board, I think paedophile suffices?
