Her sister has just uploaded a video about how she caught covid at uni
Anyone else thinks its strange Ruby didn't mention it in a video or put a post out saying thinking of marfa

Even Holly Gabrielle, who wasn't used to read, made more eloquent reviews on the books she's read than Ruby.

I wonder if she’ll address the comments on that Instagram post. There’s some positive comments but I’m glad some people are calling it out for what it is.

Is ruby in her first year or second? I know she swapped courses but I’m confused about if she started as a first year again?

I couldn't imagine her managing a classroom of kids either if they were anything like the kids I went to school with
She would never, having to work worth other people too, I assume she’ll start up some kind of extra business herself on top of the planners she currently sells

I can't speak for Exeter but I did do an English Literature Undergraduate degree elsewhere. Typically you do 60 credits per semester, and depending on weighting it would be 6 10 credits modules or a combination of 10 and 20 credits, so let's say between 3-6 modules per semester. So to do just 2, I don't quite understand...unless she's actually a part time student? In 3rd year some project modules are more heavily weighted, but for second year I am surprised. Are there any Exeter students here who can confirm?
Are there 30 credit modules for a 2nd year? At my uni it’s all 10 and 20 credit modules - the dissertation is double but I don’t think there’s any higher than that. Even if that is what she’s doing, then the amount she shows herself studying is insane for just two modules

I wonder if they aren't good quality, as I'm a slut for a good eBay second hand purchase and there's almost nothing of theirs on there to be had!
usually if there’s nothing on ebay, that means the brand isn’t worth anything — people don’t even bother reselling 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'd say her family's accent is a mix of Southern British Standard (common in the South of England generally) and Hertfordshire (which may be close to where they live, not sure of their location). Ruby's accent is a lot closer to Upper Received Pronunciation (what people would call the Queen's English or a 'posh' accent). That's why it's so jarring when she mispronounces words, but you don't expect it from someone with her accent/sound system.

Source: If you can't tell, I did Linguistics as a degree 😅
Thankyou! Thats interesting, its weird bc her sister actually sounds more posh to me than ruby does lol

Probably, I know a few private school kids who’s parents have just paid up front as they’re used to doing it.
It’s actually not as expensive as some of the ones I also know of. It’s like a mid tier senior prices (which seems bonkers)
Ikr, I’ve just been googling ‘most expensive private schools’ and I’m absolutely floored.

I didn't even know "candle meditation" was a thing. I've unknowingly done it several times... basically just zoning out while watching a candle flame. I feel like making it a thing you have to do ruins the organic beauty of the moment.

Also, just did some power poses. Did nothing for me. Maybe it's a response you have to build up over time. I felt like I should have been waving my arms or dancing or something lol. Actually, a little dance in the morning is good fun. Let loose Ruby, do a morning jig. Shake things up 😅
i've been recommended power poses before job interviews or before a very important phone call in which you need a boost of self confidence
i've personally never tried them because i'm a bit sceptic, maybe they work for ruby as a placebo? who knows

I think she gets really into what she’s studying and forgets everything else 😅 I’ve said this before but I’m part of her book club on Facebook and she’s just kind of abandoned the group. Like she said we’d all do a zoom call to discuss the books but nothing happened. She hasn’t been on there for months and the moderators run it now cos they can’t get in touch with her.
That's pretty bad! What's the book club called?

The whole dark academia aesthetic being centered on exclusive universities like Oxbridge makes me think Ruby is still somehow hung up on Oxford, like the aesthetic is a way for her to feel a part of this idea of roaming the hallowed halls and libraries of Oxford, like it seems like an aspirational thing for her
I don't know about that! It could be, obviously, but I wouldn't read too much into it... I mean, I study physics at a very new university with modern looking buildings, but I still like the dark academia aesthetic and I engage with it! But that doesn't mean that I would prefer studying classics at an old private college! I just think that films and books in that setting are cool!

Still, I too don't think that the aesthetic fits ruby! She would fit much better in something like cottagecore! Or light academia! I don't want to offend her, I don't fit too well into dark academia too, so I know the struggle!

Ruby looks about Jean's age on that photo, if not younger...

There is nothing wrong with being "young at heart" but I can't understand still wanting to wear clothes you wore at that age.

does anyone know what her parents do? I knew that they were wealthy but I didn’t realise they were THAT wealthy. To put both of them through private school at £28000 a year is crazy. That’s nearly my year salary!
Did Martha definitely go there too? I always got the impression they went to different schools, for some reason, but maybe I just can't imagine Martha in that setting!

The last time I enjoyed Ruby's videos was when she was still doing the Hermione tutorials
