When I went on Ruby's latest IG story for a split second I genuinely thought it was a picture of her grandmother.

Remember how quickly she moved home in March, at least a week before lockdown for even considered? Maybe her parents are also fearful of the virus, and perhaps want to encourage their children to be the same.

As others have said though, it could be that she couldn't cope with her fears of being alone and felt like she could only concentrate whilst at home in 'safety'.

Sheffield is bad at the moment though I bet Marfa stays there.

I don’t think this will ever happen. Especially not since Blakeny (spelling?) seems to be quite similar.
One of the reasons why I would never live only with someone doing the same subject as me. It’s nice to be “forced” to talk about something other than my subject.

Oh yeh I definitely don’t think she’ll ever do it I knew someone who also just lived with one other person in uni and they really struggled to make other close friends. I think if you’re naturally not outgoing (not a criticism cos I’m the same), it can be hard, but living with more than 1 person could have helped that. Obv I have no idea how many friends she has at uni.

Think I threw up in my mouth a little. I always found her obnoxious but that's beyond crass. Acting like some back alley crackhead while living in her luscious rich country house... I gotta laugh. The only reason she has a semi-following is because she featured Ruby in her videos and still the only videos that actually get views are the ones with Ruby in them. There is banter and there is disrespect. I wonder if Ruby saw that video.

I go to the University of Leicester! They have cancelled a load of courses for this year though so it may simply be that they now can offer people places/accommodation purely because a load of courses aren’t running now. They’ve cancelled my course for first years which sucks (I’ve just finished second year).

No hate intended, I went to UoL as well! I'm glad to be out of the uni stage at this point though, it's so horrible for students at the moment.

I say aca-day-mia. The Latin root of the word is with that pronunciation, and whilst traditional British pronunciation would be aca-dee-mia, both are correct.

I'm pretty sure that she never reads while brushing her teeth. She just included that in a videos a long time ago to make herself seem even more nerdy and quirky but people found it odd and had trouble believing it so now she's perpetuating the lie. I have a feeling a lot of things she includes in those routines aren't really what she would do on the daily but more some type of ideal for her.

Yeah that first outfit is great! Not a fan of the hairstyle with it, but that outfit is exactly what you would expect from a 20 year old, not the pinafore outfits that you get if you swipe through the photos.

I never had 30 credit modules in second year, so I'm intrigued what Ruby meant, but I definitely heard her say she is doing two modules.


Yes she said she held back on speaking too much because of being conscious of being on speaker because of being remote. I can imagine her being enthusiastic in class.

If I have found the right course then I stand corrected, the modules seem to be 30 credits each...

Wow that’s weird I’ve never heard of 30 credit modules at any uni. But she does seem to be doing excessive work for each class - at most then she might have 2 lectures and 2 seminars a week, the amount of studying she does looks like it’s for a lot more

In Ruby's defence, her sister is also well spoken. I have a well spoken voice and that's not because I'm posh, it's just how I talk. I get shit for it a lot but I can't help it. Even my own family take the Mick out of me for it as they've all got accents.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the way she talks. She definitely takes a lot of inspiration from Emma Watson.

However, I think Ruby mainly speaks that way to appear more academic, in my opinion at least.

Oh gosh no, I didn’t think there was any hate intended!! I totally agree, my year abroad has been cancelled and I know that’s nowhere near as bad as a-level students but it’s no fun for students right now!

The white panelled room with the fireplace where she has filmed stuff is a confusing space to me. It is my dream room, but it seems empty, and it seems like quite a grand almost hall like room with high ceilings, despite her home appearing otherwise a more cottage style home (a large cottage albeit). I know her parents are well off but why do they have a grand yet vacant hall in their cottagey home? I'm so confused

It’s probably the main drawing room of the house that just hasn’t been furnished/decorated particularly well. I’d guess that they don’t use it much since they also have a snug.
