Sorry it was a typo
Yes it can survive but this doesn’t make it a possible transmission route.
Yes the virus can be on the packaging but this doesn’t mean you’ll be infected.
(I have a bio related background)
All in all There are many things criticisable about Ruby but touching stuff at a store is not one of them.
Plus , she is a germaphobe

Sorry I couldn’t quote the post

I’m just on my phone so not able to look properly, but I could’ve sworn it was at the end of her “University Move In Vlog”
She got a bit of criticism for it so maybe she removed that section (I think that’s possible to do on YT). Please correct me if I’m wrong!

Basically she showed herself getting ready for an early night, and then at the end of the video snapped to a clip of her looking angrily at the noise of her flat mates talking and laughing (it wasn’t too loud, and dare I say if she’d politely asked they would’ve kept the noise down) saying “will you listen to THAT”

she was just like a petulant spoiled child
it's still up!

Sorry I’m just going to say it.
She needs to grow up.

I think her parents baby her, she is a 20 year old. A young ADULT.
At her age I was pregnant with my second child, had my home, engaged, studying and worked part time. Maybe I grew up far too quickly, but I can guarantee even as a teenager I would not be asking my mother to film me dancing around dressed up as a character.
It really seems like shes 14 and not 20 :/ I used to find it cute but now I find it a bit uncomfortable to watch. I do wonder if she will ever seem like an adult though, like is she still going to be doing this sort of thing in 10 years time?

I’ve seen a lot of positive reactions to it, but none from any non US people as positive as hers. It does indeed and in terms of brexit its a good thing for the UK, however in all fairness ruby is rarely vocal about British politics. I’m just surprised how little she must know about Biden to be celebrating so enthusiastically is all
I think “Biden” is just another name for “someone better than Trump”. I reckon she doesn’t know much about him (and I don’t either!). I guess it’s more natural to cheer for/root for the positive (ie someone winning) than the other person losing - even Mr Orange.

I agree that Ruby will struggle coming out of education, and think that either being a teacher, or eventually a lecturer, will really suit her.

I see a lot of similarities between Ruby and myself. I loved school and academia, and although I did have a slightly more balanced time at uni, studying was absolutely the priority. My mental health massively struggled when I graduated because a huge part of what had formed my ‘identity’ for so long was suddenly gone.
I think she’ll go down the PhD route first :)

Things is, whilst oxford is very competitive to get in to, they select candidates on more than just intellectual ability , ruby seems to struggle with critical theory and if her lecturer was already saying her thesis didn’t really add up, oxford already know the potential of students

God forbid, but sometimes I really fear for this girl. The way she lits candles and let them burn crooked scares the hell out of me. There's a moment in the new video that the candle looks too close to her computer!

They should’ve said a generic good luck and left it at that. You can’t compare this to normal times at all. Has eve Cornwell said anything on it? She’s the same management so would be interested to see if she did or not
Completely agree! As far as I can see, the only thing she's said is that the class of 2020 have been screwed over. Maybe they haven't made her say anything because she's not much of a 'studytuber' anymore?

Not being from the UK, what exactly has happened with the A-levels this year?
From what I understand from many articles and information from friend's in that year (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that the government said there would be a 'triple lock' on A-level grades (because no one could sit exams), meaning your mark would either come from your mock exam grade, your predicted grades or from a resit that you can do in the autumn. However, schools that historically have not been high achieving have seen their pupil's grades be marked down, I saw one girl predicated A*A*A be given BBC even though she had never scored below an A in any of her mock exams/predicted grades. There seems to be a correlation with essentially how wealthy the area/school is and grades and they believe that private schools have not suffered as badly as deprived areas (I don't pretend to know if that's true, that's what I have read). If anyone has anymore to add please do so because I don't know much else about it!

I wonder about her book... She is clearly desperate to be a published author but I also feel like she would want to be a 'legitimate' one IE not piggybacking off her YT fame, which I suspect a) she would find extremely difficult (I don't know what her writing is like, but the publishing industry is vicious and her self-published book was very... strange) and b) would probably not go down well with her various agents/managers. I just wonder about how she feels about writing as Ruby Granger, an internet cypher with a very distinct brand, rather than as herself.

Does anyone else feel like she is part of the lgbtq community
I think that she’s asexual.

but her sexuality is clearly quite repressed so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s because she’s actually bi/gay. Speaking here as a bi girl who had no relationship for years because she was afraid of her sexuality, before anyone comes at me.

How is she capable of simultaneously looking like an old lady and a little girl but not like a 20 year old? 🤣

I just had another idea: maybe there was an issue with the house? I remember her constantly saying how cold it was and her room didn’t look as nice as her previous ones? So maybe that also played a part? Seems really weird otherwise especially as she only lived with one other person
Yeah, I posted a similar idea on GG about the possibility of them having problems in the house and that maybe being the last straw to the decision of going back home. I think that's plausible.

The white panelled room with the fireplace where she has filmed stuff is a confusing space to me. It is my dream room, but it seems empty, and it seems like quite a grand almost hall like room with high ceilings, despite her home appearing otherwise a more cottage style home (a large cottage albeit). I know her parents are well off but why do they have a grand yet vacant hall in their cottagey home? I'm so confused

Dark academia, if not taken lightheartedly, is quite an elitist and poc-exclusionary aesthetic imo
I'm probably too old and insular to completely understand the world of dark academia, but this point baffles me - can't POC dress in that fashion, or have decor that reflects the trend, etc?
Genuine question, because I googled this and couldn't find many debates about it.

It's not compulsory, you know.
I didn't! Thanks for enlightening! Wow!!

I agree with you to a certain point but we don't know if Ruby is interested in dating or romance. She might be taking her time or just have no interest or attraction for a partner. I believe the uni has helped to a degree; when she was in school she was very much set in her comfort zone but she's made friends and she's slowly maturing. I hope she isn't held back by anxieties regarding relationships and if that's not the case, she shouldn't feel pressure do live as everyone else does, simply to be fulfilling the 'requirements' of her age.
I'm not suggesting that she should go out on the lash or anything but there is more to the world than the four walls of her room.

I don't know about anyone else, but my first thought when I saw the note she'd left for the postman was: I bet he'll think that was written by a child or pre-teen.

I’m just watching her new video and she only does 2 modules?! She does way too much work for that, I do 6 modules and don’t do half as much as Ruby does!!
