I love this book but there’s so much sex! Even some questionable sexual scenes with an underage girl
Exactly! And considering it's one of Ruby/Erimenthas rules to not read anything with those topics I'm interested to see if she ever does read it.

Does anyone know what the internship involves? Didn’t quite get what she meant with archives and poets

I missed out on grants but yeah same here I had the full loan and it just about covered rent and food then I worked if I wanted to fund socialising or non essential stuff. It always makes me cringe when people complain that they don't get much maintenance loan, I used to get told I was lucky for getting the full loan 🤢 like coming from a background of poverty isn't lucky lol. I don't really have a problem with Ruby taking it out, just seems a fucking odd thing to do when she 100% doesn't need it!!
Yeah if she still has to pay it back afterwards and doesn't need it wouldn't that be just another nuisance to think about? Is she doing it to be more relatable or something?

I can imagine her mom getting involved to stop Ruby having a melt down if she said no look at how Ruby reacted when she couldn't get the book she wanted

I came across a video where she was going to the library and she does so many unnecessary things. Making whole lists before going to do her work, why make yourself do so much.

Oxford?
Not sure how the difficulty of the application process differs between BA and MA but I didn't see much change in Ruby since she started uni (or more lik eI see she's changed for worse). The Oxford rejection didn't teach her anything. All she does is rewriting notes and play pretend Anne with and e.
It's pretty similar - most places you need to submit your transcripts, a letter of motivation/personal statement, and sometimes you need to submit an example of your academic writing, along with getting a few referees. The biggest difference is that there's no limit on the number of places you can apply to, so she could in theory apply to every university in the UK if she wanted to.

What does she mean by "(including classics)"? Are they not books? Why specifically state that? 😂

I'm also absolutely annoyed by how people comments section are comparing how much they've read to how much she read in a month. It's not a competition, it's not about quantity, it's not a tell-all about how productive you are. You wouldn't be comparing how many movies, tv shows or games you've played, have you? I really think this is such a toxic attitude... Not blaming Ruby for it here, it clearly is something that comes from people who are more prone to, as I've said, compare themselves to Ruby, but still.

Another nitpick of mine: why so many children's books? Not that there's anything wrong with them per se, but damn, you wanted to get more involved with the Holocaust topic, maybe you could've gone a bit further and do some WW2 reading as well?

Nevertheless, it'd be a good idea if she kept doing these videos on a monthly basis. I think they work better than a single video at the end of the year.
Agreed! That's one of the reasons I stopped watching people like Ruby who encourage reading an insane amount of books. You never get to enjoy a book and you always feel the need to keep pushing yourself further.
Got me in a few reading slumps...

My first academic essay after a 12 year break was 56 - well done! Take the feedback and apply it to your next work. You will only improve from here :)
How did you feel after receiving your mark? Were you expecting higher/lower?
Also well done for returning to education after over a decade!

Can we please talk about her wall with the collage of children's pictures? Does anyone else find it weird/concerning that she has a clear obsession with prepubescent children and young teens? I mentioned this before, but in her 10,000 words in a day video, she had this picture of a young Mackenzie Foy just sitting on her desk. Idk, as an adult, I wouldn't put pictures of children who I am not related to on my wall. I also mentioned this in another post, but this would be a huge red flag if an adult man were to have this for "aesthetic" purposes. Something about it rubs me the wrong way View attachment 414123View attachment 414108
What on earth is the source of the bottom right photo of the miserable looking girl with red hair?

Her dad’s a tax avoider.... you can safely assume who and what he votes for 😂
Yeah that's what I meant, I feel like one of the reasons why people voted for Brexit was not wanting us Southern and Eastern Europeans into their country and that often translates to being awful guests when visiting those countries.
But of course this is all just guessing based on the impression I have of them. Ruby and her family may well be super considerate when it comes to other cultures.

I’d love to see her parents and her do the great British class calculator, if you haven’t done it, it’s a great tool, I guess depending on where you come from and what you’ve studied etc will change your perceptions on class etc! The old money vs new money is a good discussion point but we largely don’t know what much about Ruby’s family because she’s quite cut off about them (I’m mot a long term follower so I could have missed some stuff)
