I honestly do not understand her at all. She has plenty of money. She obviously isn't nearly as classy as she would like to make herself out to be. Anyone easily knows how to dress properly for a formal black tie event. Yet she dressed up in some bizarre puke green dress that doesn't even look proper for a garden party, let alone an evening black tie ball. omg How dense can you get? I dress nicer than this for church! And still, the long, unstyled hair, just flapping around aimlessly. She looks like a slob.

Wait. Is she freaking wearing an antler headband? omg Time to resort back to our dress-up playdates. So much for maturity.
Looks like she was trying to go for the theme of the ball (no idea what it is, probably fairies or something like that). If she had a nice dress for it, then the antler headband could be a nice touch (depending on theme). But also, it's not a black tie event. I think that's the Pembroke College ball, which is a commemoration ball... Which is white tie. So, uh, even more egregious.

Looking through the Ball insta I am jealous actually. They had a Ceilidh, and like, shit to do. I went to the Univ Ball just gone and it was shite. Smaller colleges have thrown better events.

I think she's trying to pump out the last bits of Oxford content before the Oxford views dry up.

The constant overkill of presents and celebration on her birthdays just shows how her family has really fostered her childish behaviour. They seem to get a high on it. And I'm not talking about the expense. I don't see Tiffany jewelry, Louis Vuitton, Chanel bags, etc.. Her presents are usually down to earth. But the amount, the need for balloons, attention, at her age, is ridiculous. When I was 21 my parents, sister and BIL gifted me a rocking chair I wanted for my room and for my future home. My sister sent me a dozen yellow roses to my workplace which I kept on my work desk for the day, then brought it home. We also went out to eat for Chinese food at one of my favourite restaurants. After that a present from my parents was more than enough on my birthday. I was a working adult, I was making my own money. I was becoming independent. I had no desire for balloons, parties or any of that foolery. I grew up. Her need to advertise her birthday on social media, hoping for best wishes from a bunch of strangers on the internet, is just so messed up. We know she will be milking it for the next month, like previous years. What a self-absorbed weirdo she is!

I'm starting to understand why she mainly stays in her room. At least it's somewhat tidy...
Yeah, with the dead flies, filthy and never changed sheets, dirty computer screens, dripped wax, unbelievable dust under her bed, clothes strewn about. The whole family lives in a pigpen.

I think we are all missing the point of Ruby's year at Oxford which was she got to pretend she was Hermione Granger....and that's it

We should all sign up and mess up the stats … (I’m joking, obvs)
I mean there’s a reason we watch these videos. I don’t like to admit it, but the truth is, if I was just watching Roobee for the sole purpose of hating on her… I wouldn’t. Clearly I’m getting something out of it, so in that sense, I’d definitely qualify for the survey.

Mum being a barely functional alcoholic with a fetish for faking injuries in public spaces and dad paying the bills by swindling people out of money?
Also that.

Have they not referred to their cleaner in the past? Cleaners can only do so much if they're not in every day though. My boyfriend had one for a time and the place still managed to go to rack and ruin during the week (I diagnose him with owning too many dishes and too many clothes, owning too much stuff means you aren't as on with keeping it clean). Difference with him though is he didn't post it online and harp on about being a germaphobe.

Weird class things about having a cleaner in this country, I think. I often surprise people by being fairly left leaning but being generally positive on the topic of hiring cleaners. I presume Ruby keeps it on the DL because it would harm her relatability, or what little of it she has left. She never refers to her scout (person who does some cleaning of college accomodation but is mainly there to check the place isn't going to ruin).
They have a cleaner (she's called Clara) but you can't clean clutter- as I very gently had explained to me by the cleaner I had when my mental health was bad. If they have so much crap there's only so much dear Clara can do with it to make it look... less crap

It’ll never fail to make me laugh that she constantly uses anything but her own company planners!

Also the new video, it’s so sad that she’s spending her final few weeks in Oxford going home rather than enjoying her “dream” university. Agree with someone else’s comment that it’s just such a boring video.

She was pretty okay at it, but I think once she injured herself in 2020? 2021? she gave up.
Oh, how could we ever forget about the trauma that was her sprained ankle? The way both Ruby and Clarice carried on for WEEKS, you'd be forgiven for thinking the bone had been shattered in a tragic accident and Rooble's was at risk of never walking again.

Not to mention, we got my favourite incident of Claire scolding Marfa for the mortal sin of being alive in Ruby's presence from it.

I just started paying attention to the lip-smacky mouth noises that people have pointed out and now I can’t unhear them, it’s like listening to a snail trying to communicate. Also when she’s speaking to the camera, she will look anywhere but the camera - which on the one hand I understand, it may be uncomfortable, but she goes overboard with the eye-rolling to the point of looking comical.
The eye roll thing is her trying to recite a pre-written script.

I think it's harder to tell from looking at Blakeney because she has a better grip on her emotions and behaviour while Ruby is a bit delayed in development and spilling all over the place.
That's true. Surely B must know how Ruby thinks of her? Even if you don't spot it in the moment, one watch of those videos makes it pretty obvious to me.

Also, i thought that hotel looked like Fawlty Towers, horrible dining room, felt like the sort of place you'd go for your Year 6 residential trip.

Watching her new video- I understand she wants to make time for something she clearly enjoys doing (i say that loosely) but why do it in the morning? When I did my masters I did all my work in the morning, then whatever I wanted to do I did in the evening. I did a Scriptwriting masters so most of my course centred around writing anyways but I always gave myself a free choice in the evening if I wasn't too tired from working on my masters projects.

I suppose if she's finished her dissertation and she's just streamlining it then it's okay. But if she's still actively writing it why are you spending more time working on not one but two books? Admittedly if I was stuck on any of my masters projects I took myself away from it, but did other things to help the process. If that makes sense.

I am always slightly amazed that Friends has become popular again in the whole Y2K trend. If ever a show was ripe for cancelling, it’s that one, and yet people seem to love it. Weird.
Nostalgia is a huge factor. People will overlook a lot for nostalgia.
I worked with a man who was 35 when Harry Potter came out and I remember him saying stuff about "plotholes and bastardised mythology" (Ruby would love this phrase I feel) and I (as a 21 year old who adored HP) didn't get it. I'm now 35 and I absolutely do, but plenty of people would disagree.

I know that this is supposed to be a smile but this is my sleep paralysis demon. I don't actually understand why she looked at this photo and thought that this was a nice photo to post with this facial expression
Didn't she just say she wasn't doing anything and just staying home over the Easter break? Can she not ever tell the truth anymore? She has woven so many lies that she keeps getting caught in her own web!

I usually don't hear her weird accent as much as you guys do on here (maybe bc english is not my first language) but that part when she was speaking about editing her thesis... I thought if she says TAXT one more time I'll stick a pencil in my eye. Idk why but that was the moment I could fully hear how fake and forced her pronunciation is for some words 😭😭

Also, the Lewis Carroll persona is so far my least favourite one. I think I even preferred the Victorian housemaid over this
Yeah at least the Victorian housemaid didn't creep me out with their quirky sleep paralysis demon attitude

Although she seems to regress at home, I think that going back home after her Master's and getting a job (well, going back to the job she was doing at her old school before) is better than doing another degree. She seemed a lot happier during her gap year when she was doing that.
