She has been gifted more tickets to the Opera and is trying to sound like she knows everything about Opera now.

Ruby only attends Opera when she has been gifted things.

They really need to stop the whole influencer culture.
"OIY YEAST TYEU HATE THE OPERA. AND THAN THEY STARTED PAYING ME. NOW OIY LOFF IT!"

Today's outfit looks less 'bookish' and more 'nun doing good works in the community'. It's giving meek Sister Michael vibes. The jacket over the bedpost even looks like a habit.

Dress makes her look much more chubbier than she actually is, really unflattering, she is a very thin girl but looks so different in that dress
She frequently uses an elongating filter when it’s just her in the picture, this is probably closer to how she really looks.

Once you see the claw, you really can’t unsee it. It makes such a heavy appearance in her insta story about talking to Lemony Snicket. Actually made my hand feel uncomfortable when I watch the claw come out.

I don’t think she needs to take these entry level, admin, library volunteer jobs like people are suggesting. She needs to give herself a kick and make her content better.

She already has an audience, if she would just be smart about it she could get good ads and make good connections with publishers to get a children’s book deal to keep some money flowing in. If she had been proactive with her business (or had better management?) she could have tried to do partnerships with shops to get her stationery stocked on physical shelves. If she had worked at it, she could have found a niche on TikTok for her stationery and gone viral and sold through TikTok shop and her website. But she’s lazy, she doesn’t invest in the business and she’s terrified/paralysed of what seems like basically any adult decision. All she can do is ‘school’/uni.

Her relevancy online is only going to dwindle as the years go on and the chance at all this money will slip away.
It's sad to see the wasted potential of her brand/channel. Maybe it doesn't matter to Ruby because she's still bringing in money. She doesn't seem to have a mind for business. By that I just mean she seems happy to let other people take charge instead of making her own choices. I think this would have been understandable at the beginning of her YouTube days because she was so young and needed advice, but as she's now in her twenties it would be a good thing to rely less on management. I have a low opinion of Sixteenth and think Ruby should have been more selective with brand partnerships. Bird & Blend made sense because of her tea obsession, but even then it got tiresome the way she shoehorned their products into literally every video.

Pumpkin Productivity is a good example of what NOT to do. Branching out into stationery isn't a bad idea for a studytuber, but the quality of the products was terrible and reviews noted that the planners fell apart easily. The design was simple and Ruby had very little creative input. Choosing a template seemed to be her main contribution. The planners were very overpriced, there were repeated shipping delays - the whole thing was a mess. IIRC Ruby didn't address the delays for ages and then responded in a half-hearted way, e.g. she still charged the customer for their missing planner. Meanwhile, she left planners around the Exeter campus to be found by uni students who probably weren't interested in soggy notepads that had been left on a bench. I think this was during Covid too, just to add to the stupidity of the idea. 😂

I might be misremembering as I‘ve never been able to find the video again, but I’m sure that a few years ago (maybe in one of her Exeter packing videos?) Ruby showed the ‘attic‘ in the house and it literally looked like a landfill site - there was just a massive pile of stuff in the room. I remember being a bit shocked about the sheer amount of stuff in there but it did explain the rest of the house …

With all the birdseed mentions I did wonder if she would break out into song like the "Feeeeeed the birrrrrrrds, tuppence a bag" lady from Mary Poppins:

After splashing water on her face to wake herself up at 6am (her phone says 8), she likes to get the dishes done first thing (at almost 11pm).View attachment 2953275
I’m sure there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why the clock on the microwave is set to an American time zone 🙃
edit: also the 😖 that I 😖’d when she revealed she’d kept her dishes from lunch AND dinner in her room until I guess the stench got too bad ☠ I’m not a clean freak by any stretch, but I draw the line at sleeping in the same room with dirty dishes from more than an hour prior.

None of you guys organized your group work sessions in your own flats? Like it was common for us to do that, that way everyone bring something to snack and during the weekend it was also an occasion to share a homemade lunch together, even cooking it together.
This is in Italy or similar isn’t it honey? Any student flat I went into was covered in old pizza boxes and ketamine 🤒 🍕 sounds lovely though

Honestly? Its is nice to sed Ruby so animated and genuinely happy when she is with Blakeney. She (kinda) actd her age and acts more as areal person than when she tries to do her vlogs alone. Alonse, she tries to be so eloquent, poetic and mysterious, but here she just acts like a young person with her friend.

Also, Ruby saying "it's giving Rapunzel"?? I didn't know she knew modern lingo

”Impressionism is my FYAYVOURITE kind of art, the Impressionists are the true experts at romanticising your life”

Complains about the fact that there were other tourists at the Louvre 🙄

It’s sad and comical at the same time how Roobee is incapable of summoning up a single interesting or original thought, it’s sheer inanity from beginning to end. Also I absolutely despised being shown a 0.2 second flash of a painting and then a closeup of Rootabaga’s face as she read aloud from the info card for half a minute.

I've just started watching her Paris vlog. "Simone de BEVoir", really? This may sound really petty, but it really irritates me when she doesn't bother getting names of people right. 🤷‍♀️

I do feel that Ruby is so secretive as she wants to be the first person to do a certain subject or come to a conclusion. She has to be the best or the only person to do that. She is very much the school girl covering her work with her arms to stop people glancing at her jotter.
It makes me think of the time when she seemed really put off in Exeter when someone either asked a question she wanted to ask or did a piece of work that she wanted to do for a class.

She would honestly do wonders for her audience if she spoke about her academic work and what she is researching even if it's even mentioning her dissertation. She has made her time in Oxford look like a set for her to film in. She is so secretive even for her undergraduate dissertation and we only know it's to do with Lewis Carroll's letters and nothing else.
It was the same with her refusing to speak about her love for Emily Dickinson when someone else asked her about it. I think ruby said something along the lines of wanting to keep those thoughts to herself as Emily Dickinson ment so much to her.

It'll never not be hilarious when Ruby snootily brags that she got the VEEEEEEEEGAN option of whatever while wearing leather shoes, clutching her leather bag.

Yet another dull trip that she chose to waste for herself by basing it around her fake interest in books to try to impress strangers online. Her worsening habit of inserting the most forced AVVER-SYO-LYRICAL purple prose narration only shines a light on how fake she is.

Ruby's decision to immediately deface a rare first edition book that she'll never read while some poor, bewildered French bookseller tries desperately to talk her out of it is both jaw-dropping and yet totally unsurprising.

I think she could have done well with lifestyle if her content wasn't so pastiche and messy. She already had a niche with studytube and she could have easily carved out (and grown) with her viewers.

Blue porridge with roasted carrots wtf
The folk-horror-esque countryside
Birds are prolific letter writers
Birds like tea parties
A single cucumber sandwich for lunch with somebody dying of consumption in the background while she was butchering it
Her flapping up into the treehouse like Baba Yaga

I can't even think of anything witty to say about any of it. I'm done.
I felt like she was trying to say nonsense things in an Alice in wonderland style…but she just came across as weird. And not weird in a quirky way, just weird as in a weird way.
---
I dont even know where to begin with the new video.. I think what makes me most aggressive is her obsession with statements like "The best of the world" "it is a rule" "always". It's literally stuff small children (and i mean kindergarden age) are saying.
Also this extreme forced quirkyness.. What can't she just comment her shitty stuff normally. Just say "I thought blue oatmeal would be fun", no, she says "everything is better when its blue, its a rule". Wtf???
It’s exactly how the most unlikable and annoying main character in a YA book would speak.
