I can’t quite bring myself to watch the video yet but the comments on there are so damn weird. ‘Ruby might find a man and get married’ (erm …), people getting overexcited and calling someone an ‘internet bully’ for commenting about the state of the garden, lots of wannabe intellectuals getting pointlessly verbose in the hope of being noticed by Ruby, lots of praise for really odd things -‘you have great bead-buttering and cucumber-slicing skills‘. It’s all very strange. I noticed too that some comments asking if she’s ok seem to have been deleted since yesterday.

the sheer fucking condescension in that last phrase, I can’t She’s acting like her sloppy videos are meticulously researched and edited instead of her airing out her empty brain and blabbering into the wind, and acts all affronted when people politely point out a particularly obvious error.

I'm flashing back to her other "casual magic" whimsical rambles about crap she saw in her back yard. Like that time she deduced that a lack of berries on a blackberry bush must mean that a local family came to pick them for berry sandwiches and the idea that birds and local wildlife would've eaten them simply did not occur to Ruby's withered raisin brain.

Back when things were really bad with my eating disorder I would put mortifying stuff online, thinking I was the deepest and quirkiest person alive. I was neither. I just had a starved brain. Maaajor second hand embarrassment watching this one and I do hope Ruby still has a therapist, as it’s clear she’s not doing well since being at Oxford. I can only imagine the miserable food she’s having off camera in that dorm room, if the ones she films are the presentable ones

It implied the Librarian knows her area of research and either happened across a book he knew she would be interested in or was actively searching on her behalf.

Worth bearing mind as well that Ruby has a tendency to embellish these kind of things, choose misleading language or outright lie to make herself seem special.

She did it a lot at Exeter and tried to make it seem like she was some kind of VIP on her course or every tutor's favourite student, when she was either making stuff up or misrepresenting everyday meetings and blanket emails that were sent to all students and acted like they were just for her.

She's always been a relentless suck-up with tutors and faculty (sending them unsolicited letters, cards and gifts constantly), so it's entirely possible she has made an effort to speak to the librarian there whenever she's there, they remembered one of the areas of study she feigned an interest in or asked about and were nice enough to ask if she'd like to view a text they came across that they thought might interest her.

But it's also likely that she just put in a standard request to view a manuscript mentioned on her course that was in the library's archives and then she got a boilerplate email from the library to confirm she could view them at a certain time, then she embellished from there.

I don't mean to speculate in ways that aren't appropriate to the rules of Tattle (if this is, let me know please)...but I can't help but wonder about Ruby's feelings for Blakeney.
Ruby seems to be very attached to her, and films her in almost a romantic light in some shots? I've kinda wondered this for years to be honest. Not that their friendship has to be romantic or anything just because they're close, but something about the way that Ruby captures her on video, and describes her...just gets me thinking about if she has feelings for Blakeney, whether she realizes it or not.

Throwback to when she posted this last summer as well...

I do sometimes get a feeling about the presentation of their relationship too... At first, and still, often, I thought it was just two bookish posh girls, a friendship that's quite innocent, but every now and then something slips through that I just notice...

That doesn't seem so far fetched now I think about it.

I think she was at least considering it as an option during her GAP YAHH. She had a spontaneous renewed superficial interest in religion/philosophy (which mainly involved re-reading all her old theology lecture notes) while waiting for an Oxford decision.

A PhD is likely off the table now considering how badly post-grad has gone for her but she'll be desperate to keep a foot in academia because her fake brand/persona is so tied to it. So I think if she goes back to uni, it'll be at a lower level and she knows Exeter will treat her with kid gloves.

She'd no doubt then spin any Oxford failures as the academic system mistreating her along with her heart not being in it because she JANUINELY wanted to study theology all along. "OIY SHUD HAFF TROSSTED MOIY GOT!" Then it'll be 3 years of comparitively low-stakes essays she can cannibalise from online sources while churning out more vlogs of her staring at her screen pretending to be exceedingly busy, with no pressure to get a job or grow up.

Oh goody, another ”slightly absurd” vlog. The official sponsor is Wild, but I’m about 5 minutes in and so far there have been cameos by Crosstown and Ramadee Kombyoocha. Also she manages to have breakfast, go out for coffee (around 9:30), study at the LOIBREE, visit a bookstore, go out for donuts with a friend, go to the dining hall to discover they don’t have SYOUP that day, and come back to her room, all before 12:55. She has the attention span of a housefly.

How many lies did she tell in this video the amount she told is ridiculous and I know she probably told more lies but tbh I can't be bothered to write them all down. Here are the main ones that I noticed in the video:
1. She has not seen any friends what about your gifted trip to Exeter with Blakeney and getting gifted tickets to see Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House with your friend
2. She has not gone out again what about your trip to Exeter, The Royal Opera House and walking around London to find Holly Jackson to celebrate the release of her new book.
3. Thinking that you can only get, access and smell flowers once a year.
4. Excited for term to start yet looks away from the camera when she says this which means that she is not looking forward to going back and is feeling anxious about her return to Oxford.
Also like her previous video she didn't do anything that was remotely interesting and as a result it was just another pointless vlog.

Nothing says ”varry organised person who JANUINELY has their shit together and sticks to a routine” like Roobee’s clock app. So many questions. Does she roll a D20 every night to decide what time she’s going to get up? Does she activate all of them, just to be able to say she NAVVER snoozes her alarm? Am I abnormal for only having three alarms (one for weekdays, one for weekends, and one that’s not on repeat that I can set when needed)?

Time in general is meaningless. Is it April? Is it January? Is it whenever bluebells were around last year when she was working on her nature lapbook? Roobee cares not for these earthly matters!

I miss cheesy fringe Ruby. She seemed so much happier back then. As many here have been saying for a long time, most of her content is just so miserable these days. I know it’s hard not to project my own experience of ageing/change onto Ruby, but watching her lose her enthusiasm and appear more anxious and stuck than her peers as she ages is too relatable . I’m older and not privileged like her though, so I feel like she has time and far more resources to turn things around mental health wise. I really hope she does someday, because I’m sure she’s realising how quickly time flies now and the older we get the more deep rooted all these issues become. I feel like so much would change for her mentally too if she gave her brain some proper nutrition

I would love to hear about her dissertation and the research she's doing! Might actually make me watch one of her videos. It doesn't even have to be directly whats on the dissertation if she's worried about... something(?). Hearing people talk about their research is great, when someone is so passionate and knowledgeable about their particular topic

The fact that she’s not talking about it is what’s making me (and probably many others) think that she’s NOT passionate or particularly knowledgeable about her topic.

That's such a weird thing to lie about oh my lord. That's like, compulsive liar type behaviour.

Would any really look down upon you if you said: yes, I reused some footage for this video. Yes, it was filmed across different days.

When people are this blatant about it, you have to wonder what they're getting away with under the radar.

Yup, so many times when she's been quizzed about something, a simple "I forgot to get any footage of [blank] on the day, so that was recorded later to give context to what I was talking about" would've sufficed. Instead it's endless lies and nonsensical excuses.

If she mentioned that her vlogs were more like recreations of her days because it wouldn't be practical to film every single thing and still be able to focus on the stuff she needs to do, nobody would've thought twice about the dodgy timescales depicted in every video.

But the fact that she doubles down on compulsive lies about absolutely everything, from her vlogs to her accent to her charity scams, just reinforces that her whole persona is fake and she's well aware that she's stitching vlogs together from multiple days and filling her videos with fake activities and accomplishments to try to appear far more productive than she is (while bragging how much she pretended she did).

So much of her ego rests on the fragile narrative that she's JANUINELY the world's most productive child genius and she's so reliant on gullible children believing in and being envious over her lies that she cannot bear to admit to anything for fear of them realising that all her videos are complete fiction.
