It's also so funny to that this product is only 'accidentally' vegan because they used the cheapest ingredients they could find
On the same subject, vegan "croissants" are basically the disgusting and cheap margarine option you can find in many bakeries here in France, next to the real croissants. I'm not sure but I think the only difference can sometimes be the egg wash but it depends on the bakery. That's usually the option which remains at the end of the day as almost nobody wants to pay for that where I live.

So I always find funny to see people rushing to pay the special vegan ones which are basically the same but way more expensive, just for the label "vegan".

Also her way of holding her fork in the Venice vlog is really childish and clumsy.

Having a bit of writers block for university assignments so I went to the Starbucks that is five minutes away from my flat, sadly I could not just go to Venice.

Actually lost it at Ruby's hip flask, it is honestly one of the most bizarre things about her for me. One day she'll move on from smuggling coffee to places with it and move onto lemonade and fizzy juice. Is this Ruby going through a rebellious phase?

Tried watching the video, but her verbal purple prose and her VARRY ADDJOOKAYSHONAL LACKTURES are excruciating.

I did have to laugh that the sum total of the inspiration gained from Ruby's trip to Venice was deciding to write a scene where Ruby goes to Venice. Not a trace of imagination floating around in that hollow skull of hers. She's incapable of writing about anything unless it's either happening right in front of her or is stolen from another book.

lolol not her at the end of the video telling everyone to go to Venice before the sea level rises too much 😂 B*itch, YOU FLEW THERE. You’re part of the problem.
The irony of everyone flying to Venice and helping it sink faster

I think she was underlining An Enchanted April because she's reading it for her new book club on the app Fable and the app requires this sort of underlining in order to participate. I checked it out so you guys don't have to and lo and behold it's grifty... there is no way she's putting any effort into this.
I downloaded the app and the premise of it is underlining lines from the book on an ebook version, and posting a comment about the line. So unlike a traditional 'book club', its basically just a comments section for each chapter of the book, then a final comments section for members to post their overall thoughts on the book. In order to underline extracts and fully participate in the book club, you must also purchase the e-book (you can only read 10% of Enchanted April on the ebook before being asked to pay for it. Most books on the app are $17.99) It's very hands-off and money-grabbing (on the app's part at least) compared to her original book club on discord, which allowed for more discussion of the book and zoom meetings. I imagine this new book club was just a sponsored thing from the Fable app and won't last very long.
Ah right. Thanks for explaining.

Does she think she's Lord Byron? 😂
HALLO IT'S BYROOBEE

I hate when people say this, people act as if the whole city is going to be underwater in the next 5 years. It’s estimated to be around 2100 at the earliest when it starts going fully underwater and even then Italy already has got plans in place to help delay it even further. She’s seriously beyond irritating and out of touch.

OK just watching her new video and this is just the first 8 minutes. Have to pause because it’s another hard watch!

In the comments she said going to Venice is “the closest I’ve ever got to magic” …eye rolling SO hard at this. Also classic Ruby, she changed the title. The original was “I had writers block…so I went to Venice.” She continues to be SO out of touch.

Thoughts so far:
• Video is particularly irritating. The way she tries to make every aspect of her voiceover sound like a poem or some kind of Victorian novel. Does she not realise she just sounds like such an idiot and unintelligent? The part that got me was the pigeons covering the square like granite tiles… like what?
• Laughed at her describing the square saying, “It’s quite dirty not going to lie”. Ugh. Her voice has changed again.
• Hair looking especially thin.
• Freckles are out of control. Which reminds me…I watched a video of a Q&A with her and Martha the other day and she was asked what she’d get tattooed (if she absolutely had to) and she said freckles! Why would that be her answer if they were real lol.
• The filming in museums when it says no photos/videos. Little Miss Ruby above the rules of course!
• Why does she have to tell us everything is “vegan”. To me, I feel like it really affirms the fact that her meals aren’t always vegan.

Still 20 something minutes to go…

This especially irritates me, she makes everything into an attempt at poetry.

Oh gawd this video is so annoying to watch for all the reasons already pointed out here.
I also hate how she goes on vacation for a few days and then acts like she totally KNOWS the place. Like "I like Venice the most in this light!" like wow you were there for 2 days, surely you can have an opinion because you have seen the city in all conditions now, a true native!

Also her throwing in random Italian words to seem smart or sth. Ugh.

Sorry to double post, but I just finished watching the video and wow, the way in which she says Venice is a reminder of whats at stake in regards to the climate crisis. I mean, not to disregard Venice in any way, but man its so clear how many billion people all over the world will suffer and die from the effects of climate change. Good that Ruby's eyes were opened bc Venice is at stake.
Istg all the traveling shes done during the last year hasnt broadened her tiny horizon in any way...

I laughed at that too, especially as it came just after she said "this piazza is beautiful." Accidentally comedic!

I find it funny how, when she goes to a continental European city, she suddenly wears classic black & white outfits, and classic prints such as polkadots and the striped neckerchief.
It does look nice and more grown-up, though.

"Every path you go down there's something new, there's something different"

Yeah, everywhere is like that because they're.........not the same street?

"Out of everything I saw, it was the most overrated"

Sorry but duck off. Firstly, nothing has to be 'the most' or 'the least' anything. You can just think it's fine, nobody's asking for your ranking.

The funny thing is that The Enchanted April is in the public domain and you can download the ebook for free from Project Gutenberg or listen to the audiobook on Spotify. I read it last year and thought it was lovely. Of course I didn't have Ruby's invaluable input so maybe I didn't get the full experience.

Also I think its stupid to 'read to the season'. April is different in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere in terms of season. Even within the hemispheres, seasons vary quite a lot. She thinks everyone lives in the English countryside.

Was trying to work out how someone could be so confident when they clearly don't know much. Ruby didn't go to Venice, she went to the "Peak of Mount Stupid"
