I think Ruby has bought in to the idea that to read a book 'properly' you must annotate. It's so silly.
Its not a first world problem maybe but the solution is a first world solutionSo she went to Venice because she had writer's block and thought that a change in scenery might give her some inspiration for the novel that she is currently writing.
She’s gone on like nine trips in the past year, if I was that blocked I’d try an enema and take some time to think about whether I’m actually meant to be a writer. So she went to Venice because she had writer's block and thought that a change in scenery might give her some inspiration for the novel that she is currently writing.
Don't give her ideas or her enema routine will drop soonShe’s gone on like nine trips in the past year, if I was that blocked I’d try an enema and take some time to think about whether I’m actually meant to be a writer.
That’s fine for normal folk who want to be writers, but when one wants to be a WROITER one has to seek inspiration through trips abroad. Carefully curated ‘solo‘ trips with mummy wielding the camera offscreen, but trips nonetheless. She’s gone on like nine trips in the past year, if I was that blocked I’d try an enema and take some time to think about whether I’m actually meant to be a writer.
For Ruby, underlining things comes off as a very performative trick to try to convince people she JANUINELY RAD THE BOCK when she's flipping through prop paperbacks on camera, when in reality she skimmed them at most. It's often the most bland passages not worth noting or remembering, giving the distinct impression that they're just underlined at random. Jack Edwards does the same thing a lot.I was surprised to see her underlining passages from Enchanted April. Does she have a problem memorizing things? It is a small and very easy to read novel. It is barely 200 pages and very easy to understand the characters, their roles, and find specific passages. Her underlining is not only unnecessary but also very messy.
It's also hilarious that she apparently needed a palate-cleansing trip to a foreign country just to feel inspired enough to write about...a privileged young English girl who lives near a field. She’s gone on like nine trips in the past year, if I was that blocked I’d try an enema and take some time to think about whether I’m actually meant to be a writer.
Yeah wtf was that. Its like she went in with some Spanish pronunciation or somethingThe way she pronounces Byzantine is.... odd. Like she doesn't say the Z in it?! And I love how shocked she is that Venice is beautiful?! Like yea.. it is, that's why everyone comes here
I actually thought for a hot minute Mummy Bones actually wasn’t there because Ruby’s tit editing would never be good enough to hide the evidence BUT I realised she was there when Rubes was whispering in her hotel room, like she does as home when she doesn’t want to wake her parents up/doesn’t want them to know she’s filming. That’s fine for normal folk who want to be writers, but when one wants to be a WROITER one has to seek inspiration through trips abroad. I noticed the whispering too. I think she said it was 9pm? In a hotel I'm talking in my normal voice until I fall asleep lol. Exactly! They’re built to be somewhat soundproof - Ruby’s stayed in enough hotels by now to notice she’s probably never heard her hotel neighbours having just a normal conversation.I noticed the whispering too.
