When you have a three day a week job that you do nothing at and get ferried around to (so no waiting for public transport or driving yourself) you probably might have time if you do nothing else.

But Ruby definitely didn't read all of those properly.

I know she will be insufferable if she does manage to get accepted. Tbh tho, I will be surprised if she is accepted. If her previous failures, along with Jack's are anything to go by...

Lets see...Its got to be soon, right?
8 to 10 weeks after the deadline, so probably March (the dl was January 5th, if I remember correctly).

I’ve resigned myself to the inevitability of her getting in. It’ll make for entertaining content, though. She’s going to unravel at the speed of light.

I had a dream last night where I had been an exchange student and staying with the Boneseses for 6 months, and then it was time to start packing to go home, but I had amassed 600 books (very few of which I had read) and was frantically searching for boxes to pack them into. I also told Ruby at some point I knew she was a good person at heart but, quote, ”you really have to work on yourself” 😂

Well many people have mentioned it’s quite easy to get accepted for masters at oxford. Even easier if you choose less popular course.

Brace yourselves people - it’s ‘random acts of kindness (KOIYND-NESS) day’ tomorrow. No doubt Ruby will be out showing kindness to the police by leaving a few suspect packages in the local area …

Her new "Wes Anderson inspired" YT-short is just so annoying.
a) would never have guessed any connection to Wes Anderson, the whole "cinematography" is totally off.
b) grow up! Probably over 90% of YT-viewers are facing more problems than ever before thx to the state of the world, but yeah, baguette is happiness. I mean there is nothing wrong with noticing the little pleasures of life and making light hearted content also in troubled times. But Ruby always comes across as so incredibly tone-deaf bc she has the worldviews of a 5yo. Why cant you just say you had a nice baguette and were happy about it?

Oh, Christ, please don't let her ruin Wes Anderson...

She's literally never watched a Wes Anderson film in her entire life.

Wes Anderson, known for tight symmetrical framing, smooth panning shots and colourful overhead shots of carefully-arranged objects.

Ruby: "Mummy, johst wave the camera about randomly! Alsyo make shore tyooo film in portrait myode! That is hyow Wass Ahhndingson wohld dyo it! And than oiy will johst slap somm random taxt on top in a varoyity of randomly-chyosen fwonts! Johst loike moy favorat filmographer, Wells Mandington!"

That was a comment from yesterday on her TikTok about how she can't focus because she's not in a café. She's just doing her usual thing of latching onto a reference a commenter made and trying to make it another forced part of her fake identity now. It's beyond embarrassing. God, I loathe her.

If her next video is titled 'university is keeping us from learning' with her VARRY SYARIOSS face in the thumbnail and lots of rambling nonsense about how university isn't worth it and WEE SHUD AWL LAHHRN FOR OURSALVES BECAUSE THE ADDJUKAYSHONAL SYSTEM DOESN'T APPRECIATE US, we'll know what's up.
Can't wait for her to try to convince people that "lahhrning for the sake of lahhrning" is ackshually much more rewarding!!! She used to be so focused on the grades she forgot what joy it was to sit in her bedroom all day, writing down latin verbs with no tangible goal in sight! Dahhk acadaymia is, after all, truly just about the passion for knowledge and how institutions can kill it!!! There is so much more to be gained from slow-living-countryside-dwelling-childhood-reliving charm of slow stoddying how to read and write! She's so happy! Janyuinely!

Brother Karamat-zoff pronunciation made me believe that she is not reading the book and randomly placed the bookmark in the middle of the book. I could be okay with the pronunciation but she doesnt even know the name of the book she supposedly has been reading for a month AND HOLDING IN HER HANDS

The thing is, I don't think it's necessarily wrong that adults should be able to enjoy the same things they did as kids. As an autistic adult, I still have a lot of the same hobbies and interests I did as a kid. I still collect stuffed animals and play the same video games I loved 20 years ago. I don't like the idea that "growing up" means you have to give up on the things you used to like. Yes, I've grown, but at my core I'm still the same person I was back then.
The difference I see here between what you describe and what Ruby is doing, is that you are continuing hobbies and interests from your own childhood, rather than just doing childish things. If Ruby had said "when I was a child I used to play pretend cafe for my family every weekend, we were reminiscing and I decided to do it again today for nostalgia and giggles", that would be far less weird. (Still concerning taken with the wider picture of Ruby's behaviors but I'm just looking at it on it's own for a moment.)
Lots of people go back to things from their childhood when they seek comfort, like watching your favorite kids' movie, making yourself a silly meal, reading a book you loved, etc. That's totally normal. If all you were doing were these things, while not engaging in any new or more adult hobbies and interests, that would maybe point to some issues. Ruby goes a step beyond that, in that she engages in these childish things which seem to not even be from her actual childhood.

She works for 3 hours a day, 3 times a week? That is what she is doing with her uni degree? That is completely pathetic! She just outed herself on that photo. What a lame life she lives. And with that super busy schedule (not) she can only manage 30 pages of reading a day, usually a children's book? No wonder it will take her 3 months to read The Brothers Karamazov. No one wants to publish her ridiculous writing, she doesn't even know what she wants to do in life, she will never make it into Oxford with any of this, or make it as a successful author, and has no focus, whatsoever. She has never worked a full time job for a single day, ever. Real life is going to slap her so hard. I think she believes her viewers admire her and are jealous of her freedom to be "bored" or do whatever she wants. She isn't going to get anywhere in life with any of this. It is a very slippery slope she is sliding down. Those rocks at the bottom are going to take her out, for real. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes for anything. Also, whatever happened to her learning to drive? Did that get pushed off for another decade again?

Ruby's "routines" are always so painful because NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE A ROUTINE. Also, while I can see how it can become a problem, watching an hour of YouTube is hardly a sin and as someone who makes their living from it, you shouldn't act like it is??

"This is the shampoo that I use, because I often get lots of questions about that"

Great, thanks, I'll rush out to grab the first hazy red bottle with a pump that I see  As if her shower has mood lighting
Her shampoo is Aveda Blue Malva, it’s definitely pricey and definitely not all natural as she used to claim. (It’s very nice though. There, I’ve said it. I’ve been influenced. At least it’s not a planner, and I got it on sale.)

Yes, the sibling dynamics were unpleasant to read. I hope Martha 'drops the rope' (a Mumsnet term I recently learned) with her family, as she makes a lot of effort (thoughtful gifts, wanting to go to Ruby's graduation) and seems to get little in return.

No hate to Jacqueline Wilson, but this was funny to see on a Ruby thread. 😂 80% off kids' books.

Yay, another night routine! 🤣🤣🤣 And why does she feel sooo exhausted? It's not like she has a stressful job, a busy family life and lots of things she does in her free time...
I was sort of joking when I predicted another night routine. I should have known better. Ruby coming up with vlog ideas...

P.s. I wouldn't be surprised if Ruby's diet was leading to low iron. You need to be careful with vegan diets. Anaemia has a few causes, but the primary symptom in each type is extreme fatigue. I've had iron-deficiency anaemia before and it was totally debilitating until I figured out the cause. So Ruby, if you're reading here, please get a blood test.
