Isn’t there a rule about living within 25 miles of the uni for Oxbridge? Years ago, I thought about applying for the MEd at Cambridge and one of the things that put me off was the rule about living within a specific distance of the university and I realised how much more expensive that was going to make it. Maybe it’s changed post-Covid but that seems like something Ruby maybe hasn’t thought of.

Same for Oxford.

Yup, that rule around residency still exists. You can apply to live outside of the 25 miles “for good reason” but I can’t imagine any permissible reason Ruboid could offer, especially as she cannot drive and even to get the train to Oxford, she needs to be driven to the station, so it’s therefore not really a viable option. They only allow a 500 word explanation of why you’re requesting it too and Ruboid+words=/= sense

Is she even 'Friends,' with those from studytube these days? She was friendly with unjaded jade but I can't imagine them being friends even though it's online. I think she was 'friends ' Holly Gabrielle and there was a video of them together and I always could see them being friends more than Jade.

She never was, I don't think. Her friendships with other studytubers have always been very transactional and she'll only socialise with them if her management arrange a playdate, an event, a brand deal or they need bodies to promote one of the others' projects (in which case they usually neglect to mention they're reviewing/recommending a product from someone they know and share managers with).

All the core Sixteenth studytubers are narcissists who want to believe they're the smartest, most special person in the room despite all evidence to the contrary. None of them are likely to want to spend much time around the others when they're all known for the same thing and are on about the same level of dishonest, creatively barren laziness.

I think they only reason any of them would want Ruby around is because she makes all of their dumb asses look intelligent by comparison.

Why does she say single bed and not just bed? I've never heard anyone specify the size of their bed unless it was necessary to the context of the conversation. Weirdo

She made a huge deal out of shifting from the queen to the single so it's not surprising to me that she keeps harping on the single aspect. Just another thing to show that she's still a "child".

I don't understand why Ruby is speaking at a suffragette bunch other than her management set it up for her What has Ruby done for feminism or even said something to do with women's rights other than sharing an Instagram story? I am feeling more bothered by this than I should be as I've done work on the suffragette movement for a dissertation for university. I feel as if there should have a historian or someone who is for a women's rights group in Ruby's place, I didn't hear her speak but I feel as if it was a lot of buzzwords. I'm getting fed of people like Ruby getting into places and speaking just because of their management when she clearly has nothing to say that is of importance.

Also, is Ruby going to take on a history nerd persona as she is one apparently? I'm hoping she doesn't as it will make me hate doing a MLitt in history as Ruby will put me off my course with her being into history and describing things as 'cool.'

from what i can tell its not really a feminist campaign, its run by the luxury hotel on the site of emmeline pankhurst's old home and the hotel is just doing some silly corporate event with a bunch of influencers to launch the program or something. It really is. I've got my teenaged cousins staying with me at the moment (16 and 18 years old lads). I showed them some of the quotes that have been shared from Ruby's book. They have been reciting them in their best Patrick Bateman impersonations. They especially worked on:
"Beth holds her hands over my eyes and I can smell chocolate on them. I wonder when she last washed them and fight against my gag reflex"
I was laughing SO much, but really...every single quote that has been shared is absolutely bizarre, psychotic and downright scary.

I think that I do almost get envious of Ruby in the aspect that she has time to get bored and all this free time, when I'm working on a full time masters and I'm working thirty hours per week in a customer service job, and having to do cook, clean, and fit everything all in. A few weeks in and I am already feeling so stressed and then there is Ruby who is basically doing a pocket money job and she is just making a video about being bored and getting all this money from social media. I am wondering if I am in the wrong life or something!

I'm sure I have seen a number of people complaining about the planner falling apart which also happened with last year's planner so clearly this is an issue that keeps on happening.

Yeah, the same exact thing has been happening every year - planners never show up or planners fall apart, then customer service ignore all emails and Ruby will comment that it's "VARRY unusual" even though it happens every time.

Her management company use the cheapest suppliers possible and cut as many corners as they can to keep more profits, so the planners are complete trash. Even one of the young kid fans that Ruby befriended did a video saying she had to tape her planners back together after they fell apart.

Nothing new, but it's hilarious that it's being commented on a post where Ruby's acting like these planners will enrich the lives of students.

I remember the pure copium on display when he got asked in a Q&A if he was disappointed that another influencer he knew was accepted to Oxford and he wasn't. Lots of not-quite-believable assurances that he celebrates everyone's successes...right after throwing shade at Holly Gabrielle - the only one of the core Sixteenth Studytuber group to get into Oxbridge.

He's gonna be livid if Ruby gets in and he takes her place as the controversy magnet this year, too.

I had a look on Blakeney's LinkedIn and it's amazing to see how much she has done in comparison to Ruby while she was at university, she's worked while doing a full time degree and she volunteered ect, and is working, and really seemed to make the most out of uni and got a first, while Ruby regressed into a child over her time at uni.

Does anyone remember when Ruby ran out of her house when vlogging when home alone as there was a noise? I'm trying to think of my strangest Ruby moments, it's that or the cabbage porridge. What's everyone's?

Her as the dead body in a nightgown lying in the middle of her backyard did me in.

I don't necessarily think she saw a job posting and went through the hiring process- she's a nepotism hire and she probably asked for work/they offered her work and basically made up a job for her lol.

I think someone said it on here quite recently, but I've been thinking about it a bit more: Ruby has no real brand anymore. Its not StudyTube, its not BookTube, she seems to be moving away from 'productivity'. She is sort of just vlogging bits of her life at the moment. Her life is quite boring so she doesn't have much to show or tell. If she does get in to Oxford for Masters, I doubt she will have time for YT. And who exactly is her target audience?

I agree. And i think it will be a good thing if she gets declined. She needs a fucking huuuge wake-up call. Its the best thing Oxford can do for her, decline her application. She is losing her grip on reality. Being denied a place in the Oxford Masters program will force her to re-think what the hell she is doing with her life. Her identity is so wrapped up in being 'academic' and 'productive', its unhealthy.

I mean she was already rejected once before. It just sent her into a existential crisis lol.

Her mum's the same way: Presents herself as a hard-working parent juggling a job and raising kids, when her kids are adults and her "job" is calling into her friend's radio show which runs for 2 hours every two weeks.

I wonder if Daddy Bones ever gets annoyed at the rest of his family. He brings in all the money and his wife and daughters don't do anything but sit on their butts and spend it.

Sadly if she does get into Oxford it appears/seems with the evidence we have that getting a first & spending time & money buying your lecturers presents is all it takes (obviously I allude hete to my perception that this is brown nosing). If she does get into Oxford my perception that it is a discriminating educational establishment will be forever smashed. Yet another preconceived notion will have bitten the dust.

Definitely. I get these vibes too. She talks a lot about bullying, even wrote a 'book' about it. I think she is a bully in a more passive, manipulative way. Just my opinion, based on following her social media presence for a while. She seems like she could be super bossy and downright explosive when she's upset. Mummy bones must be walking on eggshells. In her own house no less. Ugh and even in her own car.
