When she wrote 'book club poster on drive' does she mean Google drive or a USB, maybe?? It seems ridiculous that she'd make a poster on a car journey when she sits at her desk nearly the whole day lol.

I'm sure Ruby loved being reminded of the book club depacle. 😆 Thought she'd finally put that behind her, but nope.

The cynic in me says it's probably an ED thing for her, like "If I have to get pizza with family, I'll get the pizza with the absolute least amount of food possible on it."
Or 'im a little child so I don't have toppings on my pizza like the adults in my family. I get the kids pizza, which is just a bit of sauce on a base'

She might just be doing the odd lesson or lunchtime tuition but even working part time you will work a full day or half day at the least not 3 hours... I wish I had ruby's free time
Yeah 3 hours a day is definitely not considered as a part-time job IMO.
.
Her hair is getting on my nerves more than it should. Has she ever been to a trained stylist or has her mum been cutting her hair all along?
.

I'm oddly bothered by her hair more than I should be and I always have the urge to cut it when I see her. I think its just because it looks so scraggly and so dry- and that is without the aggressive hair-brushing ASMR that she decides to put in her videos. There is so many split ends as well. There is a video of her getting a haircut in September 2020 and her mum is cutting her hair to get rid of the dead ends and she is making such a big fuss of getting that done. I think her mum must cut her hair at most but I think she goes ages without a haircut, I'm getting that impression from the state of her hair now. I think that she is under the impression that long hair makes her look a lot more youthful but it looks so messy, it would look better if she did take care of it more. Also, her hairline keeps going back all the time at the moment, seeing her hair in old videos has been very interesting.

I've been watching her old university vlogs from her first year and she comes off as so much more mature than she is now. She also seems a lot more sociable compared to her 'introverted,' self (you can be sociable and be an introvert of course). There is different people in the vlogs and when she moved into uni for her first year, she mentioned that she was approaching people and saying hello to them and tried to be sociable, so I'm wondering what happened between then and now. The friends who appear in these videos never appear or mentioned so I'm wondering what happened.

I've also been watching her short films such as 'What is is like to have no friends,' and she displays an interesting choice in acting to say, especially with strange facial expressions and one scene when she is sitting in a bathtub. I also find it amazing how her parents are wiling to act in her films as mine would have no interest in doing that at all. I'm not sure if it would be worth for Gossip Guy to watch and give us their thoughts on this masterpiece?

Wtf is her new reel? I mean she at least managed to copy 1(one) element off Wes Anderson compared the her first "Wes Anderson Inspired" video but wtf. She really thinks she's onto something.. Girl its not artistic its just weird, especially the "plan anaesthetic" part.

So we reckon she’s applied before for postgrad, what’s changed in a year, some extracurriculars?
1. One essay published on a non-peer reviewed publication.
It's an amateurish collection of disconnected thoughts and borrowed ideas, which won't do her much good if anyone at Oxford reads it.

2. The AMMILY DICKENSON MUSEUM "job", which might look impressive at a glance, but if they actually look into any of it, won't do her any favours. She's painted it as a full-time social media strategy consultancy for her time there, but one look at their social media will reveal what bullshit that was - she just posted a few poor-quality, self-promoting videos on a pretty much dead TikTok channel.

3. The school "job". I feel like this will screw her over the most. Any admissions staff will be very good at spotting entries on a CV that're purely there for padding to tick a box. All they have to do is notice that she's working at the same private school she attended as a student, that one (or more) of her academic references are her high school teachers from that school, and that her tenure there is very short and incredibly last-minute. It won't cast it in the best light and it'll make her look incredibly sheltered.

This might make her look a bit more impressive than last year if they're only glancing at her CV, but if they actually scrutinise any of it even slightly, she's screwed.

She'll then vlog herself making dry as hell toast for her LANCH and talk about how ASSTHETIC Oxford is. She'll misquote and act out any poetry that describes Oxford.
But remember when the longest she made it away from her parents at uni was 3 weeks and she didn't have half as much real work to do 😭 rip mummy and daddy bones, hope you like sleeping in your van in front of the college every weekend

She could easily get around the 25 mile rule by staying in Oxford when she has lectures and running home whenever she doesn't.

"Aaaand it was my mum's friend's son's cousin's girlfriend's parrot's barthday syo I did gyo hyome this weekand aha!"

Not to play the devil's advocate, but we all know that Ruby has never had an original thought in her life and this also is a thing other youtubers and people generally do. This home café thing is done mainly by korean youtubers, I think. Along with fake chalkboard menus and funny setups. It's true that Ruby doesn't match the quality of these home café vlogs, but I find it actually pretty sweet. My mom also makes me make the coffee when I'm with my parents.
So yeah, it's half assed, but it is kind of a trend.

What's funny is that while she films herself playing restaurant with her mommy like a toddler, there are probably students at the school she "works" at who actually do work as waitresses on the weekends or during the holidays.

Remember when you were a kid and "waitress" was one of the classic replies whenever someone asked what you want to be when you grow up? This is what this reminds me of lol. Except normally around 11-12 you find out that being a waitress isn't really anybody's dream career for very good reasons. Ruby is still stuck at the first stage.

It's amazing what a cosmic shift such as working 3 days a week (was it for four hours per day?) will do, especially when you're not meeting your nutritional requirements.

I am surprised she is going for her Masters since she hasn't got a clue as to what she wants to do as a career. I mean, she said she wants to be an author, but you need talent for that, not a Master's Degree, and she has already found out getting a book published by an actual prestigious company is not going to be handed to her on a silver platter. I hate the idea that she might take up a space at any university that someone else might desire and benefit from, whereas she is just doing it for the fun of it. Another aesthetic lifestyle to vlog about. It is a lot of hard work and she admitted she did not enjoy her university experience and does not enjoy researching things. She has no interest in mingling with her peers or her betters (which is basically everyone), though I know she craves Oxford and being a student again. At some point, the schooling ends and life begins, and the longer she delays adulting, the more screwed up she is going to be. Lately she hasn't said a word about her so-called job nor does it seem like she is doing her morning "routine" of reading philosophy. She never sticks with anything. An Oxford degree would be so wasted on her.
