is "sun" even a weather condition? I mean, the sun is always there, even if it's cloudy.

Obviously the family of dead flies on the windowsill! She’s entered her Dadaist era. ”You can still get one while you can x”
Or she could be referring to the fact that it’s physically possible to spend money on a pile of flimsy crap whilst you’re doing something actually useful, such as preserving fruits and vegetables in cans or jars. At this point, who the fuck knows. Eat a meal, Roobee, your remaining 2 brain cells will thank you for it.

edit: what is she looking at in this picture? It’s not the screen. It’s not the mug. Is there a pile of charity cash floating just outside the window?
Who wears a skirt to ski in the year of our lord 2023?This outfit would be atrocious for any occasion, but wearing it to go skiing? Really?

She's talking about the Galleria as if it's an ancient building full of history the original function of which has been lost to time and replaced with shops. It was built in the 1870's and it has always been a place for shops and cafès like it is now. Just because the brands aren't the same anymore (although some of the shops there are actually historical and have been there since its opening) doesn't mean it's a sacred historical building that's been besmirched lol.
Nah why does this actually read like American Psycho monologue I am cryingErimentha Parker Chapter 11:
Plot -
- Ruby is lonely because she is not speaking to her friend Simone (because she is concerned Simone will suggest she reports the bullies again) so she starts having lunch break in the library
- Ruby finds a year 5 girl in the library and spends a page of the book basically describing how small and sad the girl looks
- Miss Soloman decides to go against her actual lesson plan so Ruby can present her PowerPoint on hurricanes
- Kimberly asks Ruby if she would ever go look for a hurricane, Ruby says no as you can die and Kimberly says that's a shame
- The bullies throw some paper at Ruby which she finds immature
- Ruby asks to go get a drink of water, Miss Solomon abandons her class to come check on her and gets her an orange from the staff room
- When she gets back to class Ruby realises her parker pen has leaked all over her worksheets and her pencil case. She investigates and finds that someone cut her ink cartridge in half. When Miss Soloman returns the bullies tell the teacher Ruby was trying to show off by doing a trick with her pen and it exploded
- Miss Solomon doesn't believe Ruby was messing around because she points out Ruby told off another student earlier for throwing her pen around
- Ruby is too upset and ashamed to eat the orange Miss Solomon gave her
Quotes -
- "Kimberley leans over and taps me on the forearm. Her fingers are cold and so her circulation is probably not very good. Maybe she doesn't get enough exercise" (I'm sorry but this quote killed me)
- "I try to concentrate on my worksheet but her comment is not eroding quite so quickly as the Holderness Coastline"
- "They throw little pieces of scrunched up paper my way, scattering my desk surface with snowflakes, each one torn of hastily and irregular. I see little raindrops of saliva, indebted with pathogens, land amongst them as they giggle"
- "I wash my hands well and turn off the tap with my sleeve, having read about just how many germs can be found on the handle"
- "True to my word, I take a long drink from the water fountain, feeling the cold water against and down the back of my throat. My stomach feels full after a few seconds and I wonder just how much water it takes to kill a person. I make myself a note on my Post-it pad to find out"
- "I go to say something but I feel my voice breaking. It catches in the back of my throat and pulls against my epiglottis"
She also occasionally shows herself drinking tea from an Emma Bridgewater mug that says ‘votes for women!’, which in activism terms is practically the same as gluing yourself to the Houses of Parliament. What do you mean, Ruby is a proven women's rights activist! In one of her videos, she quoted her lecturer who said that wearing makeup is anti-feminist and she has been avoiding makeup since! Such activism, much feminism.
Someone, I can't remember who, coined the phrase "Erimenthsplaining" to capture how Erimentha thinks she knows more than everyone else about any topic after reading an encyclopedia entry. But seriously, imagine creating a fictional character who is 11 years old and believes she can make mental health diagnoses by reading the DSM. Erimentha is a fascinating insight into the way Ruby's mind works and her opinion of herself.
When do the Oxford masters application offers come out? Or has she realised that sixteenth are going to drop her/poinkin productivity? Or have Pipers suggested she doesn’t return after half term? Or is half term less fun when you’re not a little school girl? Or has Marfa come home for the weekend and spoiled her only child dreams? Her mental health is down the drain but she loves February! It’s great being introverted!
Lottie Parton got dropped like @Griftwood says. Rubert's dubious excuses screamed "I keep getting endless rejections so I'm pulling it to save face".In reference to the recap, how do you know she’s scrapped her books? I can’t remember where she said that.
It’ll be a night routine, it’s been four entire months since the last onemy guess: something about time and books oh and sleeping
Maybe she’s looking to corner a new market - VagueTube. It’s all a bit weird and pointless but you watch it in the hope of working out what it is.I agree, I think she's never had a clear idea of what she wanted her channel to be, she's always dabbled in different things (studytube, booktube, productivity, slow living, victorian stuff, hauls, vlogs, etc) but lately it's been particularly vague and confusing.
I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned earlier in the thread. I read the latest summary and thought to myself how much more sympathetic Erimethuby would be if she were given a backstory or a reason for why she was so condescending, detached, defensive and arrogant- maybe overbearing parents who'd constantly put her down, so she'd use an inflated sense of self as a coping mechanism. But now it's pretty clear that this whole thing was a self congratulatory vanity project. Even the bully shows great character development ffs, but Rube still thinks herself to be perfect and totally in the right. She's completely unrelatable because there are no lessons learnt along the way, and no sign of being a healthy, well-adjusted student. And it's pretty much the same with Ruby herself.I've gone from a scathing response to a pity response with respect to Rubes books. It's all so pitiful. If the character Erimentha mirrors Ruby's own character, reflects her own thought process and represents experiences or interactions she had then my main emotion towards her is, as I wrote here, pity. It's all so pathetic on so many many levels
Wait until you get to the laminated reading rules...Wait the version I am reading is the LESS obnoxious version. My god ...
She's revealed that she has applied to Oxford the study 16th Century literature with a focus on manuscript studies. It's highly unlikely that she'll get accepted, she doesn't appear to have applied anywhere else and she doesn't appear to have any backup plan.I've been away from all Ruby's BS for the past few months so bear with me; I checked her channel briefly and I'm confused. What exactly is she planning on doing after her gap year? another gap year? Can someone give me a tldr?
Yeah I think I could probably skim 17 books in a month and give very basic feedback on each one, especially if i was getting driven around and living in my childhood bedroom with my mother taking care of everything. But I wouldn't feel I had read them properly. When you have a three day a week job that you do nothing at and get ferried around to (so no waiting for public transport or driving yourself) you probably might have time if you do nothing else.
But Ruby definitely didn't read all of those properly.
Yeah I agree, she’s definitely better when she’s interacting with other people, and I think generally seems and sounds fairly normal when there’s someone else there. When she’s on her own, it just becomes super cringey and performative, bordering on plain weird.I actually kind of enjoyed the new video. Something a little different, and at the end when she was interacting with Mummy Granger, she actually seemed a lot more likeable and natural. I’m sure someone will come and shoot down my little balloon of optimism, but I feel like this is a step in the right direction - doing normal, real things (although I’m pretty sure Daddy Bones did a lot of the work behind the scenes lol), not playing Victorian infant make-believe in their crack den of a garden.

UGH she’s definitely one of those twats who complains about their SPLITTING HEADACHE but wouldn’t dare put CHEMICALS into their body in the form of PAINKILLERSI mean you can’t become ‘immune’ to any analgesic drug, if she means you can develop tolerance to certain painkillers then yeah, but that’s definitely not true of paracetamol lmfao.
Her dad works in finance as an options broker hiding most of his cash in off-shore tax havens.what are her parents jobs? also - is she not friends with the girls she lived in during uni with? (sorry if this is wrong i don’t watch her videos that much anymore and i can’t really remember if she lived with just one girl or two - all i remember is the video where she was complaining about loud noises in a student accom)
whats your favorite question ?No wonder she's scared to be home alone.
---
True. I like misty weather, but it's terrible if you need to drive anywhere. Aside from that, this sort of question is just repetitive and uninteresting. How many times has Ruby asked about favourite season, favourite month or favourite weather?? Does she not have anything more exciting to talk about? Even 'quick recipes for when you're tired and busy' is better than this. I know it's been done loads by other YouTubers, but it still might be useful to someone.
