Guys covid dreams are real because why have I just had a dream I was in ikea with Ruby talking about and then there were none by Agatha Christie and I said its my favourite book and she said I've never actually read it I just said I have on goodreads then she asked me if I keep the free stuff you get in shout magazine???
You can tell it was a dream because Ruby admitted to having not read the book.

Get well soon!

I'm not sure she will do a master after this year. More like having another rest year where she will try to return to her old school and write to her former teachers.

A gap year then a masters? Does this womanchild not intend to find gainful employment? Or am I being old?

She’s done with her degree so I assume the gap year starts now...
i thought that as well but i remember we had a talk at school about gap years and that said we weren’t allowed to do nothing on our gap year but that’s what ruby is doing

Is anyone else bothered by the name Lottie Parton? Sounds too close to Dolly Parton. Why did she not catch that? (sidetone: she doesn't seem to listen to real music or have any real cultural taste) Maybe it's just an American problem I'm having with it. We all have Dolly on the brain

No, that was my first thought too.

I'm more concerned we haven't discussed her middle class picnic yet
Sure puts my garden picnic to shame today which consisted of a Greggs that I picked up on the way back from pre school

Btw, is it really called "Lottie Parton and the Bad Friend"? That must be a joke? It sounds like a very cheap children's book

YES! I'm not American, but Dolly Parton was my first thought when I head the name. Dolly is the best Parton; Lottie is the worst Parton. She should change the character's name.

I think it's ''Lottie Parton is a Bad Friend'' and yes, it sounds like a kid's picture book.

Thought you were exaggerating about the middle class nature of the picnic. Then I saw this photo:

P.s. I hope you enjoyed your Greggs picnic. 🥳 Sounds fine to me.

They're eating assorted leaves with hummus and have some flowers in a jar. Bet they'll also have a bunch of insects on that salad. There are thunderflies everywhere around here.

I saw this earlier, and immediately thought of Ruby. If only someone would actually tell her that.

It’s definitely possible to do nothing during a gap year, I‘m not great at planning ahead so after school as well as after my degree I had gaps of around six months, which was followed by an actual gap year after school. This last one was actually good for me mentally, but of course it comes from a place of privilege to be able to wait for a specific job for a few months. Not sure that’s what Ruby is doing though, or maybe I pulled a full Ruby. 🤔

eating insects isn't something I'd do, but there are insect burger patties available (I hate that word. I never know how to spell it. But autocorrect knows it) and other things. Free range insects in a salad hmmm ... sounds delicious...

BTW who brings a bunch of flowers to a picnic? Did they cut them on their way from the car to the park? Do they take them home?
