One thing I couldn’t understand is how Roobs can go through three years of university and still come out the other end as sheltered and deluded as she was when she first applied to Oxford. However, what one must realise is that Ruby didn’t actually have a ‘university experience’, she basically just redid secondary school but she cut out the bits she didn’t like, ie speaking to others and leaving the house. Her results video is so depressing because it solidifies that there has been a complete lack of growth, academically or within adult life. I’ve mentioned it before but she displays such a severe state of arrested development, which is highlighted in that video. For example, remember when you were like 14 and thought you were the smartest, most original person ever? Ruby is still stuck in that phase. If you listen carefully throughout the video, Ruby never once says something along the lines of ‘My work got me a first, I’m happy with that.’ It’s always ‘they mahhrked me as a low faaahst…which is JAANINELY a RAHLLY good mahhhk….but two different professors will maaahhk work differently so it JANIUNELY doesn’t mean anything…’ throughout the video she highlights that she genuinely believes she’s been under-marked, that her professors, who literally have a phd, can’t see the genius that is her uni work and have given her a low mark because of it. Yes, she’s right when she says ‘marks are just numbers which don’t mean anything’, but she doesn’t mean it in the same way the rest of the world means it. She says it over and over to herself because she believes her work needs little to no improvement and should be noted as the work of a genius, and that she’s sO mIsUnDeRsToOd by her professors because she’s a tortured genius. This proves that she is undeniably thick as she has completed missed the point of going to university. There’s a reason first year doesn’t count in 99% of degrees. It’s literally because there’s a huge gap between studying for a-levels and studying for a degree, therefore you need to take into consideration that you will actually need to improve your work and listen to those with more knowledge than you, two things Ruby has not been able to do.

Her daily TikToks are just a swift descent into unhinged madness now.

Untit545565760-0=05646.jpg

Ruby angrily glares at the camera and sounds so pissed off as she churns out yet another undeclared ad for gifted tea.

"NOT to be dramatic. But this is the BASST...loiyke...PLAIN green tea oiy've avver tried.

It's the...(holds up the package to remember what the hell she's supposed to be pretending she likes)...Mao Feng Green Tea.

(ANGRILY SLAMS THE PACKAGE DOWN ON THE DESK WITH DISDAIN.)

If you loiyke green tea...(takes a slow, disgustingly loud slurp of tea and does not swallow).

(Talks with a MOUTHFUL OF FUCKING TEA.) You need this..."

What fresh madness is this? Ruby declaring that each new tea she gets gifted is her new favourite is predictable at this point, but Ruby delivers this one so angrily and can't even swallow the tea she's pretending she likes. The undeclared ads have reached a new now. Have Teapigs got you at gunpoint, Ruby? Hold up two charity donation receipts if you need help.

Holding a book while brushing your teeth is impressively childish, Ruby. No one's going to believe that you're actually reading it, you're just ruining the poor book and making yourself look like an idiot. I'm so annoyed by her constant need to be better and more productive than everyone else... Other people actually read big adult books, Ruby! They don't play the role of a quirky day-dreaming bookworm, they don't pretend to read all day long and be so engrossed in a book that it's impossible to put in down for a few minutes. They just read it in their free time between multiple jobs, taking care of the kids and cleaning the house.

I know I'm late to the party but honestly the look on her face when she opened her results and realised she 'only' got a 74 on her diss. Ruby is so insanely entitled that she expected to get a mark in the 80-90 range. It just makes me so angry that she has the audacity to sit there and act disappointed that she got a 76 overall before going on to say grades are just a number to her impressionable audience.

But when you take a step back and look at Ruby's situation, she's played herself to the point where it's actually funny. Fair play to her for getting a first because that's amazing, and it's not a low first either. But she's wasted 4 years at uni and has nothing to show for it other than her first class degree. She never did normal student things like going out or socialising or meeting new people. She didn't join any clubs or societies either. She never had a typical student experience and that's her own doing. While everyone else who went to uni with her have plans for the future, she's confining herself to her childhood bedroom with no job, no friends and no social life, in the exact same position she was before she went to uni. What a depacle 😂

Anyone else reckon that she’s absolutely writhing at the fact that Eve Bennett got an equally high first (at Oxford), and in her results video mentions how she managed to do it while also maintaining a social life and other things? Just seems like Eve really did uni the right way and got her head on straight and was well rewarded for it, and is rightfully happy with her grades, whereas Ruby spent the whole time aiming for perfection only to be ‘slapped in the face’ with what anyone else would be ecstatic with.

Ruby's going all in on TikTok, and I don't know if she's just losing what's left of her mind or she's just acting especially manic trying to appeal to an audience she doesn't understand on a platform that she's not suited to, but she comes off as completely unhinged and stupidly out of touch in her videos there.

"Oiy wanted to wake up really ARRLY, because I have LYOTS of ADDITING TO DYOO. Oiy have THREE videos to ADDIT. Boht oiy couldn't get up at FOIVE AY AMM because I was up until TYOO. Which was silly because OIY was up ADDITING."

"SYO MANNY PEOPLE...GLYOBALLY are sleep deproiyved...It's ackshually SCARRY THE FIGURES. I can't remember them offthetopofmoiyhead. BOHT. Um. Sleep is one of the BASST THINGS WE CAN DYOO. For our physical halth, for our MANTLE HALTH. It can sol MANNY MANNY problems. Um. Syo. This is just a remoinder to make sure you're gatting enoff sleep."

Ruby's logic:

"I have an endless schedule of free time, no job, no responsibility. I stayed up slightly late doing the thing I wanted to wake up early for. I then forced myself to only have 5 and a half hours sleep on one occasion. I am now sleep deprived. RIP me. Stay sleeping out there everyone, you can't all work as hard as me."

Ruby, you have nothing but free time. You set your own video schedule and it's never been reliable, so there's no point pretending you'll start now. You staying up until 2am and then deciding to wake up at 7:30 isn't a hardship thrust upon you, it's just stupidity on your part when there's nothing to be awake early for.

You also clearly put zero effort into editing and just slap random footage together in Adobe Premiere and call it a day, so that shouldn't be especially time consuming.

All those other people are sleep deprived because they have to work long hours, sometimes in multiple jobs, while taking care of children and/or family members while worrying about things like paying bills and affording food alongside all the other nightmarish shit going on in the world around them. They don't have the luxury of excessive wealth, zero responsibility and nothing but free time. You are not like them.

If you want to set an example and advocate for healthy sleeping practices, self care and good mental health, then don't tell other people to sleep more while humble-bragging that you were up late WAHHRKING VARRY HARD AND THAN WYOKE UP AVVER SYO ARRLY. Lead by example. Have a lie in. Show that you slept in until 10am. Most people don't have the option of a lie in every day, but don't tell the impressionable students who view you as an aspirational figure that you never sleep and never eat because they'll just think that's what they need to do to be VARRY PRODOCKTIVE.

Get the fuck outta here with this toxic nonsense.
Lmao Ruby you're the one who chose to wake up at 7:30 and only get 5 hours of sleep.
You're an adult, you don't need mommy to tell you to go to bed. If you want 8 hours of sleep and you went to bed at 2 just wake up at 10. What's stopping you other than the imaginary productivity standards you hold yourself to?
Or if you don't wanna wake up at 10 as it's too late just go to bed at midnight and wake up at 8. That seems reasonable to me.
Or if you absolutely want to wake up before dawn just don't do any work in the evenings and go to bed at 9.

She literally has no set schedule or responsibilities to attend to. She can wake up and go to bed whenever she wants. You literally cannot be sleep deprived in these circumstances unless you are choosing to sleep too little, or you have medical conditions that prevent you from sleeping well.

Nah I have to say, I don’t think the school shouldn’t be entertaining this. They will because she can give them clout and exposure, but in all seriousness I don’t think she should be interacting with any students at the school, especially the younger ones. I can’t articulate myself but there’s just something very off about the fact she has said that she wants to go to see who the new head girl is, it kinda feels a bit groomerish and I just think if it was a bloke going back to his old school specifically for that reason, then alarm bells would be ringing 🤷‍♀️

Since someone on here went to Exeter and they're obviously sensitive about it. We are criticizing Ruby and questioning her grade since she is, well, Roobee, and was sponsored by Exeter at the beginning. It is not a criticism on every individual student. Just Ruby and the higher-ups.

I just watched Ruby’s reaction video and I’m really sorry to see where she is at with things! To be honest, and not to sound braggy (😬), I’ve been there and done that with grades! Top of undergrad class, top grade in masters, completed PhD with nothing lower than an A in coursework etc. I’m at the end of all that now and it seemed so vitally important at the time. But I never had a college night out until I was nearly finished, never did a holiday away with friends or joined and participated regularly in a society. I missed such a massive amount of college life! Then I had a little girl a few months back and realised it really meant nothing at all. I’ll teach my little girl to value her effort, not output. I’ll help her work smart and not hard (like rewriting notes and to do lists again and again!), and I’ll try to help her find some balance!

I get that it's her brand but it irritates me that she can't just, you know, visit Vesuvius, it has to be reading on top of Mt Vesuvius. It must be exhausting to not just be able to enjoy life but have to constantly think about how you can make everything relevant to literature

Didn't Erimentha also do a school project about volcanoes or something? Was that autobiographical? Or am I just misremembering that as I slowly but surely lose my remaining sanity due to daily exposure to Ruby's content?

ETA: And by the way, what happened to Ruby's other big educational project? The one where she's going to erect Holocaust monuments all over the country to educate the underfunded state school kids about the importance of using Notion? Or what was that again

edit: looks like they all follow Eve and she follows them, but Eve is under a different management company (M&C Saatchi Social, looks bigger than Sixteenth), so that’s probably why there’s no cooperation… and as we know, it’s a waste of time to interact unless you can make money off of it 🙄
I see the odd comment here and there with Eve on Jade and Ruby's posts/videos, but think that was more heightened during the A-Level period. Even with their different management, I doubt Eve would want to be friends with Ruby, or have any reason to be.

Eve has aspirations of being a journalist, has moved to London, has a relationship and in general, seems like a very normal, sweet 22-year-old functioning member of society. Contrast that with our Ruby, whose aspirations are "writing a book" (which is achievable only because of YouTube, not her writing ability), has moved back in with mummy and daddy with no signs of independence and doesn't seem to have any romantic or platonic relationships (unless you count smothering Blakeney).

Just look at how polar opposites their reactions to their final grades are; both achieved firsts. Eve noted how she'd found previous years difficult but felt this year was much better for work/life balance. She seemed genuinely happy and didn't show any fixation over whether she got a 72 or a 75. Our Rubes though, was visibly upset that she didn't get a "high first" on her dissertation because she's above everyone else and needed an 80 because she'd "warked sywoooo hard" and her work has to be a publishable standard. All in all, Eve had a life outside, which Ruby sacrificed to do busywork 15 hours per day, and they ended up in the exact same position, with Eve at Ruby's dream university since she was 12.

Beautiful stuff.

"How kind was I today" out of 5 and "writing Grandma a letter".

Christ, that's like something you'd give a 7 year old. She's 22-years-old. The regression has already started.

I'm actually concerned for her. She needs therapy instantly as this clinging onto childhood thing will just continue to get worse.

"life experience", huh?
How does she have such cool parents and turned out the way she is 😭
Also does anyone else find it weird that when she talks about the past, she always refers to it by saying which school year she was in at the time? She's always so specific about it as well lol, I'm a similar age to her and have no idea which school year I was in when different things happened haha, most people would just be like 'when I was little' or 'when I was around seven'. Even saying a specific year would be less odd🥴

Once again, aspiring bestselling author doesn't understand how POV works.

Apparently first-person POV now includes:

The viewpoint of a someone you're clutching by the throat as you spin maniacally in a field when you should be getting a job.
The perspective of the farmer watching as you trespass through their land, prancing about like an escaped mental patient.
The point of view of a wild rodent about to attack your ankles.

She's so obsessed with validation and engagement from her fans. You can tell Ruby doesn't think she's an "influencer" in the same way as very feminine, girly girls who are influencers just because she's ~academic~ and doesn't wear makeup. But actually, she's worse than them because she pretends everything is just filmed - by chance - and you are just "happening" to see her going about her day and what she does, despite the fact she IS an influencer behind the scenes, setting up cameras, fake angles, doing brand deals, and doing ads. It's the same thing. At least most other girls are honest about what they do and are upfront about the fact they enjoy taking photos of themselves. Ruby does love that, she is equally superficial in the way that she constantly takes photos of her outfits, seeks praise and wants attention from people. But she just pretends that she doesn't and it's frustrating. And tbh, it isn't fair how most of those other girls who are influencers probably get so much shit for doing the same things Ruby does, but because Ruby comes across so -innocent- and fades into the background because she isn't super "hot" or glamorous, she gets away with it.
