Seven drafts!? I've barely done two!SEVEN drafts of the dissertation?! Ruby, you're doing it wrong.
Seven drafts!? I've barely done two!SEVEN drafts of the dissertation?! Ruby, you're doing it wrong.
Wow, she spent a year working on it, still finished it like two days before it was due, and was still adding stuff and moving paragraphs around like last week?Omg she sounds SO damn smug and pleased with herself about finishing her dissertation in that video, it's quite something. "I have spent so much time on this", "I wanted to make the most of these last few days" (making it sound like she's gonna die or sth, so unnecessarily dramatic), "it is so satisfying to be able to tick something so big off my todo list", "but of course you didn't just work on it one day, you've been working so hard on it for such a long time", "the dissertation has been one year in the making" (!)...
Maybe I'm just in a foul mood today, but it just makes me sick how self-congratulatory she is here and how much she pats herself on the back for the grand achievement for spending one year working on an undergrad diss that's like what, 10k words? And all that while not having a thing in the world to worry about, not having to work a job to make rent (no, chewing Bird and Blend tea on camera once a week does not count as a regular job in my mind, I'm sorry). Not having to worry about money at all, in fact. Not having to worry about sick parents, or having to care for anyone else, not having to do her own laundry most likely, not volunteering or being politically active or doing literally anything else besides sitting at her desk and writing out draft after draft after draft of her dissertation.
I mean, good for her if she's so damn proud of the grand achievement of spending her life that way, I guess. But something about the way she goes on and on about how great she is and how she was working syo syo hard on perfecting every little detail of that stupid dissertation just makes me irrationally angry.
She's probably got digital submission, most unis changed to that during covid and haven't changed back. Can't be certain about Exeter, but I know it's true for the majority of unis I've worked with since the pandemic. Why do I get the feeling she’ll run out of time to get the thing finished, bound and handed in? Back when I had to do mine, there was a wait-time on the binding because one little copy shop in the campus was trying to do everyone’s binding all at once. I think I did mine a few days before and there were queues even then. Surely with all those revisions Ruby is doing she’ll leave no time to actually get the thing bound, unless it’s a digital submission?
Makes me think of the smile the Grinch gives as he decides to steal Christmas. The look Ruby gives when she thinks of how many outfits she can twirl about in once she steals the charity money, or the gleeful and slightly deranged look she gives the police when they ask her where she's hidden the bodies in her murder spots- based off Gossip Guy's last commentary. Not sure which one I like more.Omg trueeI mean who just casually keeps a whole static camera in their kitchen
It's annoying though cause I was really really looking forward to stealing some charity money. But what can you do heh

Ruby's clearly found a method that no wine taster has ever stumbled upon, though: Push all liquid to the front of your mouth and chew it - do not let any of it touch the rest of your tongue. This method of activating her keenly-attuned tea enthusiast senses led her to deduce that BARD 'n' BLAND's blueberry and peach tea tastes like blueberry and smells like peach. It's also "PARPLE".There is a story with Ruby drinking/chewing more gifted tea and I've had a realisation about her 'chewing.' In wine tasting when they try a wine they 'chew' it and swirl it around the mouth to get more flavour supposedly, I don't know if she is trying to do that when she drinks or it is a weird Ruby-ism.
Ffs she will have her coloring pencils out thinking it's a coloring in bookView attachment 1209152
And Ruby has said on several occasions that she has an overwhelming dislike of books with teen relationships, teen romance and genuine teen drama, or pretty much any YA fiction that isn't just gifted wealthy children getting bullied for being too smart, to the point where she'll just skim over it all (not that she actually reads much else, either).
Now she's claiming she'll rush to read a book featuring all of the above, after supposedly watching and loving the TV show, despite never usually watching TV shows unless paid to pretend to?

Edit: I mean, it's a short read. It has pictures and everything. Ruby knew she was going to the premiere and this self-proclaimed bookworm couldn't even bother reading any of it prior to the screening, especially since the author was there to speak? She couldn't look more like a transparent fake if she tried.
This is what’s confusing me. I’ll admit that my academic background is not literature at all and also, trying to be fair to Ruby, we’ve only seen snippets of what she’s doing but I’m really struggling to see how you could write about Carroll’s letters in the way that Ruby appears to be doing and call that a dissertation for an English Literature degree. She seems to be focusing on this idea of letters as gifts but Jesus H. Christ on a bike, Carroll seems to me to be a very problematic person to take that approach with. I struggle to believe that if that is the angle she’s taking, she isn’t going to have to at least mention the issues there.I think the main problem that we can all agree on and others have pointed out: this isn't a Literature dissertation.
The muse point was interesting, but again: not really a Literature dissertation (not the way she was using it, at any rate).
She HAS to be penalised for that, surely? Like even IF her writing was actually coherent etc, the fact that she has written a history come sociology essay for her final Literature degree?
why does it lowkey look like John LennonHAVE YOU SEEN THIS CHILD? Last seen trying to escape from Ruby's picture book
Is it Ruby Granger fanfiction or did they just create a OC sister for Hermione and call her Ruby?Is that…. Ruby Granger Fanfiction![]()
That pink skirt needs to go in a bin, imo. And the hat, and the blouse. She looks like a deranged aunt at someone’s wedding
It's okay, Sixteenth made Eve Cornwell attend so there was one token queer person in the group of Studytuber duds, even though she's pivoted to ripped-off legal content and a book and a Netflix series aren't in any way relevant to her content.I can’t believe that Ruby and Jack Edwards got invited to a screening that Alice Oseman said was for LGBTQ+ Influencers. So proud of them! (Jk)
Oh to have the privilege of being young, rich, and vacuous...She was in her planning for deadline season video a couple of weeks ago I believe, filming a video in the kitchen. So seems like they're both fucking around at home filming pointless youtube videos for the foreseeable future
This line's so good I wish we could work it into a thread title somehow. She sounds like she's throwing darts at a thesaurus.
This is exactly what I was thinking! For a longer essay or dissertation, fair enough. But didn't she say before that this essay was 2/2.5k or something? I wouldn't want to be wasting precious words on over a page of introduction, let alone titles for each section which add to the word count. Get your main points across and get straight into the analysis instead of this pointless time-wasting waffle. It's not hard to see why she's constantly going well over the word count if she's including a shoddily written high school book report as the intro to every essay. It took her an entire page to say practically nothing.
