Ruby’s audience seems to be made up of young ‘intellecshuals’ who desperately try to outdo each other with the verbosity of their comments, or middle-aged blokes with usernames like ‘kevin46’ who leave really quite odd comments about how lovely Ruby is. She has a very … diverse audience.

Is there a way to see a statistic that shows follower age or something? I am curious.

A significant portion of her viewers also seem to be middle-aged or elderly women for some reason?

By the way I thought "Mother Granger" was a fun nickname this forum had made up for her but then I saw that it is actually her instagram name :O

It was a good decision to cut that extract about the artist and the muse. I'm uneasy about how this might be applied to Lewis Carroll's work because his 'muse' was Alice Liddell, a child. I don't think Ruby mentions this at all, but there's no way to skirt around the issue.

Yeah I thought that was super weird too and I didn't see how it related at all to the main topic of her diss. If her diss is about Carroll's letters, why was she wasting words on some abstract Greek mythology concept about the artist and the muse? It was worrying to see in the video that she had gone off on a tangent like that

Don't take my word on this as I'm not sure, but I think a couple of threads ago we established that Marfa stayed in Sheffield (where she went to uni) to live and work after dropping out, so no she isn't at Casa De Bones.

She was in her planning for deadline season video a couple of weeks ago I believe, filming a video in the kitchen. So seems like they're both fucking around at home filming pointless youtube videos for the foreseeable future

On the subject of Perlego ads: Ruby posted another #gifted Miss Patina item. I saw it on her IG yesterday and the (gifted) text was even tinier than usual.

I predict there'll be increasing backlash against influencers receiving large amounts of free stuff. It's very insensitive given the cost of living crisis. Materialistic Ruby really is the worst version of Ruby. She has so many clothes already, but sees no problem in accepting more, even if she's not planning to wear them more than once. Then she sells the things she doesn't wear on Depop. I wish she'd just wear the clothes she has or at the very least donate her second-hand clothes instead of selling them.

I'd say it also depends on the country and medical guidelines, too, also on bloodwork and the overall image you're presenting to the clinician. I'm not based in the UK, though!

She’a not a candidate for inpatient ED care. Yes, she has an unhealthy relationship with food and has lost a lot of weight, but she’s possibly still in the low end of the healthy range for her height or just slightly underweight. I think her appearance looks shocking because we all remember how she looked with a fuller face a few months ago.

It’s obvious she’s not been enjoying her final year at uni and her dissertation seems to have caused her a lot of stress, maybe that stage of her life being over is a good thing and she can focus on becoming more mentally and physically healthy now. I won’t hold my breath though!

Ruby has zero confidence in herself as a writer AND she puts a ridiculous amount of pressure on herself, only a high first is good enough for her. All of that and a malnourished brain in a starving body = not a good look!

I think she's OVERconfident. If I put out into the world the steaming pile of trash that is Erimentally Parlor I would die of embarrassment.

Her most recent IG caption really annoys me lol, there are multiple typos. Especially given that it’s about her #gifted afternoon tea, it’s so unprofessional. Just shows how much she cares about her influencer status . If it were anyone else in any other job or a Uni assignment, we would be double checking our work to ensure it was up to a good standard. I know it sounds picky but it rubs me the wrong way when people have typos in ads.

Feeling extra petty today so documenting the typos. She’s a sloppy b. Do better, Rootabaga, god knows I’m giving you many more views than your lazy ass deserves.

I assume seven drafts means, that she wrote out the thesis once, and then edited it partially or completely six times after that. She likely saved each version as a new draft.

Yes, but even so, this is total busywork. A simpler method would be to write a chapter draft until you're more or less happy with it, get feedback on it from your supervisor (depending on what you're allowed to do) and make your edits. Then combine all the chapters into the whole as a final draft and make any further edits. I see no reason to do this multiple times.

With her dissertation, why is she trying to find the structure of it now to see if it makes sense? If she is doing it then she is floundering around so much especially if it's days before it's due. And it is just time wasting activities that she is doing such as writing it down when she could typing etc. I wish that I had enough time to do boing stuff like this when I had deadlines, I've got one on Tuseday and I'm working and doing a job. The days before this dissertation is due , it should be minor editing and making sure everything is referenced correctly. I can understand more floundering if it was a class essay as there is usually other assignments and less time to work on it, but she had a year for this!

I feel for her a bit with this. As an undergraduate, I fell into the trap of chosing a really complex topic and then had to do twice the work to fit it into an undergrad BA thesis and construct a logical argument. I still got a first but I wouldn't recommend that at all.

It must be such a relief for Roomba to finally have the dissertation out of the way. I really hope the next year isn't 'write with me' videos from her bedroom, though. Nothing at all wrong with writing a book, but I'd love to see her venturing out more, maybe doing some solo travel or volunteer work. I think it would be more rewarding.

Fair enough, but like you say individuals need to do the best they can too - and part of that is trying not to support the actions of those companies through consumption. I acknowledge we’re all hypocrites about climate change but I can’t really take Ruby seriously on this when she’s Buckinghamshire’s equivalent to Leonardo DiCaprio (serious issues with conspicuous consumption and a penchant for much younger female friends …)

The most heart-warming part: Ruby's mum is practically in the room, then there's a cut to a static camera and she's suddenly reapproaching from a further distance. Ruby came home for her birthday and immediately started telling her mum to go away and re-enter the room after she'd set up the camera so that she could get a staged hug on film.
