Sure, she has deadlines coming up in early May… but she’s also spent a total of five days in London (by my reckoning - seeing Andrea, Blakeney’s bday, Anatomy of a Scandal, Downton, and Heartstopper, all on different days) within the past couple of weeks, so it’s not like she’s super commited to just doing her work either.

Not quite sure how Ruby is able to declare if the show is "honestly groundbreaking" or not when she's watched like 3 TV shows in her life and won't have any knowledge or point of comparison.

Pretty sure she went home because her classes all ended, and of course Ruby can't bear to be away from her parents a minute longer than absolutely necessary. The majority of students would have remained in Exeter for longer (it's more logical, and someone who actually enjoys university wouldn't want to leave it so soon), but not Ruby.

UK universities have three terms, summer is mostly reserved for exams I believe. Exeter summer term starts next Monday, Ruby doesn’t have exams though, just writing assignments to turn in.

I don't usually like commenting on people's appearances because it feels unkind, but her hair's been irritating me for a while now. I just want her to cut it and brush it. It would look so much better.

Do you think Ruby is aware that she's looking frail and thin, or do you think ED-brain is telling her she's fine? I know eating disorders can distort people's perceptions.

People have been telling her to stop ED baiting, stop posting tiny food portions, stop body checking, and she still does it. She knows. She's been reading books about eating disorders for years. I think she knows exactly what she's doing.

I changed my profile pic from the unimpressed plug socket (or whatever it was in Ruby's room) because it was very beige, and it looked as though it was having an existential crisis. I'm now Makka Pakka, who is a much better role model than the Rube. He lives in a humble stone house in a forest (very environmentally friendly, low carbon footprint dwelling). He takes care of his belongings (look how he's cradling his stone). He scrubs everything in his vicinity regularly with a sponge. He is independent. He does a cute dance. He has a lot of leisure time. He doesn't have a big vocabulary or speech that is recognisable to us, but his use of words is consistent.

Speaking from experience, and I’ll inline spoiler this… When I was at my worst, I did a LOT of bodychecking. And it was sort of two-fold: I knew I was thin, but at the same time I thought I could, and therefore should, lose some more. I’d sit on the train and look at all the other people and try to gauge whether I was the skinniest one there, and if I wasn’t, that would be proof that I needed to lose some more. So based on my own own experience, I think she knows just how thin she is, and 100% knows she has a problem, but she doesn’t want to get well yet, because so far all she’s been getting is validation: people either admire her looks or say she’s lost too much weight (which of course is a goal, as she knows from having read all those anorexia books), but it’s yet to have a significant effect on her physical well-being or social life, such as it is. The one thing that might make her see the truth at this point would be if she got bad grades on her diss and module.

Sorry for coming back to this point, but I just realised what it reminded me of: Jurassic Park dinosaur footprints! Does anyone remember how cartoony dinosaurs would always come with that THUD. THUD. THUD. sound effect whenever their feet touched the ground? Yep, somehow Ruby slammed her cup down with such force it sounded like a T-Rex from the '90s.

Skimming through that video a second time and it doesn't look very comfortable. While Ruby's lucky to have the outside space (& the birdsong is nice), the sun is bright enough for her to need sunglasses, yet she doesn't move to somewhere more shaded? Also, the chair's too far from the table (notice how she's sitting right on the edge) and the table itself isn't really the type designed for studying, so she's forced to do the laptop hunch.

Her poor young fans who thinks that this is what they should look like at the end of uni.. no wonder she’s losing hair..

At this point it's just infuriating. People have been telling her that her content is triggering and that she needs to get help for over a year now. She straight up just doesn't care.
And I know some people are just naturally very thin and frail-looking. I am one of those people. But I don't look like I'm about to pass out at any given time.
She looks like this because she's starving herself, she is perfectly aware of that, and still chooses to post this kind of stuff and present herself as a good role model.

Ruby definitely wanted her dissertation to be finished first, and she planned that as an audition piece to attach to her Masters application.

In her mind, she was going to write a Masters or above piece of work at undergrad level, and it was going to wow the admissions people reviewing her application with how she was working far beyond her academic level.

She'd said before that she was expecting her dissertation to be a part of future scholarship and that she was choosing her topic to compliment her Masters subject. She was also blatantly trying to butter up the lecturers on campus most likely to provide good references for her or who would potentially teach her at Masters level if she went to Exeter. She's completely delusional.

Maybe it started to dawn on her while writing this nonsense that she was completely out of her depth and that's why she decided to skip a year. Admissions definitely aren't going to be impressed to see a brainless dolt with no grasp of English apply for an English Masters and hand over a completely incoherent dissertation that reads like 6 unrelated and poorly-written GCSE essays jumbled together to form one thesis.

Masters would definitely be a bad idea, if she even got accepted anywhere. She has no future in academia, and none of the career opportunities opened up by a Masters would be remotely withing the scope of her ability, so it would be a total waste of time and money. She clearly hates education beyond the superficial praise she gets for appearing to be productive and studious.

She'll probably pivot to writing this year instead now that she has an agent, and transplant all her terrible habits, horrible, dishonest study techniques and fabricated timelines onto being an aspiring bestseller who lies about everything instead. Expect lots of "study with me" type vlogs wherein Ruby stares gormlessly at her laptop and then says, "I wryote TAN thousand WARDS in this hour AND THAN I...went for a waahlk AND THAN I...REE-SAARCHED for 6 hours AND THAN I...wryote elavan thousand mwoar wards."
