Her most recent IG caption really annoys me lol, there are multiple typos. Especially given that it’s about her #gifted afternoon tea, it’s so unprofessional. Just shows how much she cares about her influencer status . If it were anyone else in any other job or a Uni assignment, we would be double checking our work to ensure it was up to a good standard. I know it sounds picky but it rubs me the wrong way when people have typos in ads.

she's probably ripping out what little hair she has left and is paralyzed from nerves.

new video is up!
KOINDLY sponsored by Perlego, of course! 🙄😒 If I were Perlego, I wouldn’t want my product being seen anywhere near Roobee’s essay factory… unless I was subtly trying to market it as a tool for intellectually lazy students.

edit: case in point - ”reading” 39, ”completed” 0

Tbh I think the hand issue is from her washing her hands too much. I've been doing the same thing for years (and over-sanitising). Now they're very sensitive to hand sanitiser and I frequently get red rashes on my hands/wrists when I don't dry them properly after washing them. For me it was related to OCD type behaviour and exacerbated by the pandemic.

Also loving the discussion on here about LGBT+ fiction, so interesting 🙂 As a cis woman I read gay/lesbian romances to escape from the uncomfortable gender roles I see reflected in many straight romance stories. I'm also LGBT+ myself so I find that books dealing with these topics often have very insightful things to say about LGBT+ identity, especially since (contrary to popular belief) the majority of gay fanfiction and literature is created by non straight women. In my opinion however the event should have been more focused on inviting influencers who could see themselves represented, who could be impacted by the story, who could have wished for shows like that to be widely available when they were growing up. Of course 1) anyone can enjoy a story, 2) not all influencers are out about their identity or even sure about it and 3) I would encourage anyone who isn't part of a minority group to engage in media talking about the experiences of that minority group, so they can be a better ally. And of course the event COULD have featured more LGBT+ influencers, I'm only really hearing about it from here. But inviting Ruby, who has never previously shown much interest in YA, LGBT+ fiction or even TV shows in general seems like a weird choice.

She'll do uncoordinated gymnastics while nobody pays attention and Ruby wishes her mummy were there to cheer her on and tell her how talented she is every time she almost lands on her face and shatters her spine.

Ruby does more bad trampolining, and is constantly fucking up her landings. Not-so-coincidentally, she hasn't eaten anything all "day", supposedly felt ill from exhaustion earlier this "day" and only took a ten minute rest, and now has no coordination. I'm sure those things aren't related, though...
to be fair - as someone who got to grade 12 trampolining in secondary school alongside cheerleading and other similar sports, she isn’t BAD so much as I think she seriously underestimates her weight against the elastic grid trampoline rather than the standard home tramps. Proper trampolines can go a lot deeper bc when u rly get into it like Olympic level, and ur say a 5”10 man, you need to get a lot of bounce before doing the crazy stuffs. And to reply to @zoeanned from previous thread, when Ruby’s bouncing on her back she’s just doing backdrops it’s honestly a lot more controlled than it looks. I’m about Ruby’s height (5”1ish) but much broader build but as a teen I would go rocketing about, her tucks are much cleaner than mine ever were to be honest but she’s clearly too scared to go into them without generating a lot of power beforehand so she just shoots off. I know this is just very long winded but just my two cents cos tbh getting out the house and interacting with ppl can’t be a bad thing for Ruby , it’s just dangerous she’s going to be doing it presumably with low blood sugar and far more prone to passing out. My instructor kept a lil box ofnature valley bars so we could have a snack cos most of us came straight after school

It's the way the t-shirt is oversized but you can still tell she's tiny and bony underneath. And her legs look like sticks. There's nothing to her at all. If she keeps going on like this she'll probably have to go inpatient in the not so distant future
She’s also very good at choosing angles that highlight this. She wants to be seen as frail and pitiful, not as what she really is - a grown-ass woman who’s just trying to delay the inevitable.

I can never quite work out whether Ruby is over- or under-confident or whether she’s a weird mix of both. It’s like the outfit she wore to the premiere. The dress was ok, but it looked weird with the white knitted shawl thing. She either wasn’t confident enough in the dress and took the shawl to hide behind, or she genuinely thought it looked good. If she really wanted to wear something then heck, she’s a middle-class white girl and I’m sure there’s a brightly coloured pashmina or five floating round that house, something a bit less ‘frilly’ would have looked more stylish. Or if she really, really wanted to wear the tailcoat then there are ways to style it, but it probably would have taken more confidence than Ruby had to pull it off - a tailored white shirt, black shorts and tights and some killer shoes could have looked fab. Emma Watson has worn similar and looked great. She just needs to pick a piece and build an outfit round it, but she goes too far and ends up wearing some Tory MP’s wife/primary school child/kid playing dress up cosplay.
A lot of Ruby's fashion choices remind me of the clothes my mom chose for me until I was about 12-13. She really gives off "tween girl in the late 2000's" vibes, despite trying so hard to be old-fashioned and quirky

Now I'm really curious about the final submission !!

That's so weird. It just got me thinking as I haven't seen Martha pop up for a while in Ruby's videos. She never seems to be around or involved when Ruby is at home, and there's no mention of her I don't think. It makes me wonder if Martha is even there?
Don't take my word on this as I'm not sure, but I think a couple of threads ago we established that Marfa stayed in Sheffield (where she went to uni) to live and work after dropping out, so no she isn't at Casa De Bones.

And she can't even figure out how to add a gif into a page without assistance and research.
Remember the paper snowflake incident? I still think about that sometimes.

Her to-do list also includes 'bake a Bakewell tart' and 'have a Regency-inspired picnic'. That should be an interesting video. I love that one of the headings has ''work'' in inverted commas. Might as well title it 'my so-called work'. 😂

It would be fine if Ruby DID genuinely think "ah that grey sky is so beautiful" but it's obvious she doesn't. It's all part of her "wow I'm so deep and literary and intellectual" act but the only genuine thing that comes through is how unhinged she is.

ot but also very not ot!!: I HAVE BEEN CURSED WITH THE RUBIATUS CURSE.

The events of the past few months of my life have now formed so clear a pattern that I cannot but see that Roo has put a spell on me. It all started when my friend gave me a candle snuffer for my birthday. When I first saw the thing, I tried really hard not to take offense and assured myself that this is a lovely gift from a normal person who had not familiarized himself with the lore of Miss Granger. After all, how was he supposed to know about the many times that object appeared in her videos, slowly losing its old-fashioned charm and becoming a symbol for all the things I abhor in the personality of Roo.
The only way to rid yourself of this is to bury the candle snuffer. Best to do it when there's a full moon. Take your household supply of tea bags and bury them alongside it. Next, remove the batteries from your clocks so they stop ticking. These clocks need to be placed in a circle formation around the candle snuffer (RIP) mound. Repeat 'Ruby Granger is a bad friend' three times while doing uncoordinated yoga in circles around the mound. Afterwards, you must donate to a charity, an act which is sure to repel the Rubiatus forever.

I hope this works for you, let us know how you get on!

I thought that when I saw that video of her, think I stopped wearing those when I was around eight. Shame Ruby hasn't outgrown it yet, all she was needing to compete the look was a pair of gym shoes and some plaits and she'd look ten. Shouldn't be giving her ideas especially with her recent regression

I do wonder how she goes about picking her clothes out or what she looks for when she buys clothes. She just puts bits and pieces together and they don't look good and they never fit that well on her ( I do like a few of her outfits from her older videos) Does she deliberately try and find clothes that make her look childlike? Someone must have said something to her about how she dresses or that she looks rediculous with that massive hat or a boater on. Or tell her to get a new pair of tights on if there is a ladder in them Surely Blakeney or Martha would say something to her.

Honestly, if I had read that excerpt without knowing it's written by Ruby, I would have thought "okay, this is clearly written by an undergrad student who has not yet learnt that revising is important. It's not bad by any means, and they've clearly understood the basics of how to set up an essay introduction. In terms of content it's decent, but you can tell they didn't revise it cause the writing a bit clumsy. Some sentences are too long and unclear, and there's even a few outright glaring errors that even a superficial revision would have caught (looking at you, "despite of"). While this is not exactly a super gifted student, they're also not a hopeless case, they just need to put some more time and care into revising/rewriting that."

However, since I know this was written by Ruby Granger, self-proclaimed perfectionist and English language connoisseur, who claims to write up to seven (7!) drafts of her assignments before handing them in, all I can say is... oh boy. xD

IMMARSING herself in the academic experience
I read this in her voice.

We're all assuming that a 'draft' means what it normally means, but there's every chance that this is a Rubyism and all she's doing is putting a semi-colon where a full stop had been.

”Academic perfectionism”… or tfw you know you’ve just submitted a jumbled mess of nonsense but it’s too late to do anything about it? 😆

Another study with me and 1) she’s blurred some of the shots that show her essay printouts (hi Roobee, hi!) and 2) she shares a paragraph she had to cut 🥺🥺🥺 and either it makes absolutely no sense at all or I’m dense? Something about muses wanting to get paid, boohoo? Anyway she’s still doing a fuckton of editing considering it’s supposedly her final draft, and this is the chapter she’s supposedly happy with.

I know she said she was treating April 30th as her ”internal deadline” (lol) even though the actual deadline is on Thursday, but let’s be real - if she was actually finished early, we would’ve heard about it.

edit: ”Final” draft, people and gentlepeeps:
