That is indeed a verbatim quote. According to the other presenter, reading Frankenstein is a "worthy" activity.Huh? I didn't know anything about a radio show. Is that sentence an actual quote? Please say it isn't.![]()

This is comedy gold! Now waiting for GOSSIP GUY to do a parody of it. Although it sounds like it is already a parody...That is indeed a verbatim quote. According to the other presenter, reading Frankenstein is a "worthy" activity.
At least she seems to have gone back - we set our bar pretty low for her at this point!Another day, another shot of her bedroom window (only this time its in Exeter to spice things up).
Prosaic is in fact not the right word Clare, unless you meant that the sentences were very basicLittle bit off topic... I was curious about the radio programme that Clare presents and decided to have a listen to part of it. Setting aside the fact I wouldn't say she 'presents' the show, she revealed that she's just read Mantel's 'An Experiment in Love' (plot spoiler): the protagonist has anorexia but it's never explicitly mentioned.
If this is how they discuss books at home then this explains a lot about Rube's goodreads reviews.
A teaser quote in case you have better things to do than listen to the show: "the sentences were so long, and they were so... I think the word is prosaic, so they're full of... prose".
Yeah, I really can't top the fool she's already making out of herself! This is comedy gold! Now waiting for GOSSIP GUY to do a parody of it. Although it sounds like it is already a parody...
Not to mention Alice finding such solace in books and fairytales. Or sometimes neglecting to eat. Or the theme of tragedies befalling those who (try to) leave home. Oof. It’s a beautiful story, and I can absolutely see Ruby reading (or rather watching) it in all the wrong ways :/You see what I mean? Lots of haphazard use of fire and lots of reference to Victorian flower language and some minor passing nods to Alice in Wonderland... the potential for Rubee exploitation is immenseI'm desperately hoping Alycia Debnam-Carey's fanbase will put her off making the Amazon Prime series her autumn personality trait. I can't see them welcoming her with open arms, and I can't particularly see them being the kind of people Rubee the innocent child would want to associate herself with either.
Judging by the planner on view in her 37,594,678th Insta story of her staring at her window, she also planned to force herself to go into town yesterday to do "admin" (read: pointless busywork) - an event so notable that she's put it in her planner twice to double-reward herself for doing nothing. (The admin section on her planner spread, which was created for such things, is blank.)At least she seems to have gone back - we set our bar pretty low for her at this point!

But we’ll see. The IMDB blurb mentions a violent childhood as well as growing up, two decidedly non-aesthetic things. Maybe that’ll be enough to deter her from watching.
I think it says OTCC not OTEC, maybe it has something to do with Oxford? Because I doubt she's at the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre.Judging by the planner on view in her 37,594,678th Insta story of her staring at her window, she also planned to force herself to go into town yesterday to do "admin" (read: pointless busywork) - an event so notable that she's put it in her planner twice to double-reward herself for doing nothing. Monday:
Tuesday:
- Unpack
- Town admin
- Creative writing work
- Carroll letters final
- Edit book video
- Edit OTEC(?) vlog (Finally, Ruby will share her vast knowledge of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion!)
- Yoga O Ballet O
- 20 mins productivity
- Study in town this afternoon
- Admin after lunch
As you can see, Ruby has been very busy with her first days back and this isn't just multiple vague, duplicated entries to reward herself several times for the same timewasting busywork.
- See habits

And we may have more Insta posts to look forward to of whatever café table she chose to occupy (likely at Waterstones) for most of a day while buying nothing and not wearing a mask.
Perhaps we'll get even more moaning about how she can't focus when studying in public, even though she already knows that but still chooses the loudest, busiest public places to study instead of the uni library, purely because she wants to feel special letting the common folk bask in the glory of her pretending to study.
Oxford Tutorial College Certificate? Maybe she is learning how to speak English properly (at last)?I think it says OTCC not OTEC, maybe it has something to do with Oxford? Because I doubt she's at the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre.
I thought she was productive 24/7?20 mins productivity - what on earth does that mean?
OCTC - Oxford College Therapy Centre?
From 20 hour study with me's to 20 minutes of being productive. We love character growth!! /sThere’s a bike shop called OTEC not far from her home. Maybe she’s been sponsored?
I too am slightly confused by ‘productivity’ being a thing in and of itself (and it only taking 20 minutes …)
Maybe she plans to make a video on the pomodoro technique? Pomodoro means slots of 20 min of work/5 min of rest. There’s a bike shop called OTEC not far from her home. Maybe she’s been sponsored?

Just curious- did she share that in a vlog or something? I'd be scared of revealing there was even a chain supermarket near my house online-There’s a bike shop called OTEC not far from her home. Maybe she’s been sponsored?

No, it comes up on a search. By close I mean in the same county, not ‘near‘ her house.Just curious- did she share that in a vlog or something? I'd be scared of revealing there was even a chain supermarket near my house online-
Everyone knows where her house is. It's publicly available info on the Companies House website.Just curious- did she share that in a vlog or something? I'd be scared of revealing there was even a chain supermarket near my house online-
And yet Ruby keeps hiding her former school's name on LinkedIn as if it's a reasonable privacy precaution when a) she's been at uni for 4 years and b) her home address is literally available onlineEveryone knows where her house is. It's publicly available info on the Companies House website.
