Blakeney deserves better.
There, that's the post.
There, that's the post.
Amazing, thank you! I had a feeling it would be something like that.We think she's the landlord of it but has kept quiet about it because I recall at the time people pointed put to her that it wasn't relatable or something. I don't have any receipts to hand but she hasn't mentioned it since.
Other Tattlers feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Welcome to the thread.
I am feeling a bit stupid right now as that is hoe ive always pronounced it! I’m also an English grad and my seminar tutor also pronounced it “ca-powt” (rhymes with goat).Truman Capoat (to rhyme with gloat). It's somewhere in the first 7 minutes of the video (all I managed to watch without going, "oh for goodness sake" and closing the tab).
Whilst he was vital for that era, I don't find his characters hold up well in this one. His insistence that penetrative simultaneous orgasms were the only "natural" ones made me cringe.
That said I was never going to view an author who said, "If I had my way, I would build a lethal chamber as big as the Crystal Palace , with a miltary band playing softly , and a Cinematograph working brightly; then I'd go out into the back streets and the main streets and bring them all in, the sick , the halt and the maimed : I would lead them gently , and they would smile me a weary thanks; and the brass band would softly bubble out the Hallelujah Chorus" as one whose work deserves to be feted.
I am amazed that she is so upfront with promoting her book club here, given she basically pretends it doesn’t exist the rest of the time, yet never remembers to tag any small business that she specifically says she WILL tag in her video!Have we ever dissected the description she's now putting on each of her videos? Hard to decide what my favourite part is, but I think I've landed on "without feeding into Hustle Culture." (Why the capital letters? We may never know)
How delightfully ironic from one of the people most responsible for pedaling hustle culture on YouTube, having crafted her entire social media career off the back of toxic productivity.
That candle flame so close to her hair is giving me anxietyI know I'm repeating myself, but I haven't seen anyone with such a sad look.
Aside from the obvious weight loss, she doesn't give off a hint of genuine happiness, which seems to me a clear sign that she should stop with this nonsense about outfits, aesthetics and toxic productivity and concentrate on her own well-being, which is, at this point, clearly damaged.

(edit to incorporate pics): I mean, what's the point? With the money she has earned over the years, the resources she has, etc. she could just stay away for several months and concentrate on her recovery. But she just doesn't. A mystery (or a lot of greed on top of it all...).
I literally was just thinking this, like what if her parents wanted too and then she couldn’t get inThey don’t seem like the kind of parents that would want to send their kids to boarding school - either that or I might have to credit them with some common sense and they saw that it probably wouldn’t work for Ruby. I have always wondered if Ruby sat the entrance exam for the very, very prestigious girls’ boarding school that’s kind-of local to her and didn’t get in and that’s what she feels she missed out on, but realistically I think that it’s her Malory Towers fantasies speaking and the reality of boarding school would have been as much a disappointment as university appears to have been.
And the darker one was filthy! lmaoClean then pack your school bag
Shows two different bags
It is cringey, and I haven't rtft but are the docs new? I never would have associated her with docs tbh...Is she serious at this point? I sometimes decide what i am going to wear the night before and put the clothes out. But making a notion list? It's just stupid, unrealistic, and pretended. View attachment 712798
I cant see itIt still shows up for me, it was put up 11 hours ago
NotedShe doesn't live in W London, she lives in SE.
The Yosemite comment would have fitted better under my comments about pronunciation. My (southern English) instinct is to pronounce Capote to rhyme with goat (as I'd pronounce the English word "capote"), and Yosemite using the same British pattern. Wrong, I know but it ties in with Saskia69's comment about pronouncing Capote.I'm not really sure I get what you're saying at the end - it's pronounced Yoh-sem-it-ee, not Yoh-semi-ite.
Honestly I have no idea. My instinct would be to say that she likes the worried/ supportive comments from fans, but she deletes most comments asking if she's OK.It was brought up when she first made it public! See:
Ruby Granger #13 I’m a lil teapot, a leg is my spout. Triggering content gets called out.
Previous recaps Satisfying Click's recaps Chapters 1-21 Chapter 22 and Chapter 23 Chapter 24 and Chapter 25 Chapter 26 and Chapter 27 Chapter 28 Chapters 29-31 Summary of the Story So Far Chapter 32 - Denouement £6.99 paperback on Amazon, everyone (half the price on Kindle). Don't all rush...tattle.life
The songs all seemed to be on-brand for ED recovery.
I do wonder, why make it public if she knows that some people from the internet ('bullies') know how to find her Spotify profile - does she want to tell people that she's in recovery, but not address it anywhere else?
Will give Ruby something to do researching why didn't my plant surviveThat plant was literally just in a plant pot - no saucer or anything (and it was next to the TV, which will be fun when they water it …) Unless Blakeney took it home with her that poor plant will be deader than the dodo by now.
I think the cottage is tenanted. So better than empty but Ruby/Ruby’s company being a landlord is a bit at odds with her public image.I can see her trying to do a PHD after her MA, to try and prolong the studying (Aka school) experience as long as possible. So the cottage will likely be derelict this by then! Does she ever talk about maintaining it? Or leasing it out for that matter?
Given that we have a housing crisis in this country and she claims to be left-leaning, if the cottage is just say their empty it will be up there with #ProductiveSlowLiving as one of her other biggest hypocrisies.
According to gg it was May 15th 2019 that she uploaded the announcement video, I’m not sure if wayback machine will allow you to see deleted yt videos though. If anyone watched it and remembers it, I’d be very curious to know how she did the announcement / what she said!Anyone know when Ruby uploaded the video about the house she bought? Like month/year? Just wondering if it can be found on the wayback machine![]()
Can we find the house tour video somewhere there too?First time poster, long time lurkerfound a (possibly dodgy) link to the video where Ruby says she has bought a house:
Wait so is Otto Lola and they changed her name? I didn’t think Lola was that young? Her and Margot always look either the same age or as if they got them around the same time so I never questioned itSorry to be a bit off topic again, but I've been reading through all the threads and found this video as people were talking about a puppy called Lola, and I just want to say...wtf is this breathing in the audio? I actually had to pause the video and rewind it to make sure it was from this video. Edit- and yes this video is old from 2018 but it's just really strange to me.
And you can sharpen scissors. If you don’t use them all day every day this might be needed once a year after 5-10 years. Perfectly fine to use them still. And complaining about how scissors aren't made to be durable is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
First off, I don't know if Ruby has noticed but this is not kindergarten. An adult in uni does not use paper scissors every day. So you should not feel the need to have 'durable' scissors that will endure a lot of use without breaking.
Secondly, how do you even break a pair of scissors? I don't know about you but I've never had to throw away a pair of scissors because they were broken or didn't cut anymore. You're probably going to lose them before you break them.
Thirdly, even if they do break after 5 or 10 years of use like she claims - dear God, it's a pair of scissors. For their average price, I'd say you're getting a decent mileage out of them.
She makes me so angry. She preaches about sustainability while owning entire boxes of stationery she's never used, piles of books she'll never read, and receiving about 50 individual gifts for every occasion.
