Well the new video is certainly boring, which isn't anything new.

The trunk was fucking disgusting with the mould in it, and she got the bright idea to plunge her hand into it. Even though she cries about germs and touching gates, she has no problem with putting her hand into a mouldy trunk?

And the nails..
The state of them. If your going to make a video which for the majority of it your hands are shown, would it not occur to you to paint them properly instead of half doing it like everything.

OT: I have realised several times now that Ruby turns her book pages from front to back in her videos. (see last IG post). With non-fiction it can still make sense to read it from back to front, but with novels I don't see the point.

Part of the video is mirror flipped, you can see the writing on the cover is backwards.

I noticed that she uses cropped pictures with her back-to-school thumbnails, barely recognised her. Do you guys think she does this to attract new young subscribers?

Possibly, but it defeats the purpose if she then dresses like she's a Victorian chambermaid. "49 Essentials for Back to School 1897."

She's incapable of creative growth or change. YouTube will be where she stays until her viewership quickly declines and she fades into irrelevance.

Usually really rather low (emaciation). But there are always exceptions, of course.

I agree - I really doubt she has lanugo, itgrows to keep the body warm at a low weight and although Ruby has lost weight she isn’t actually at a low weight, just low relative to her previous weight. She could still be feeling cold, I think that comes no matter your weight when you have been restricting for a while, as your metabolism slows down.
Another possibility to consider (although less likely) is self harm. I think if she is starting to self harm in that way though she would do it in a less obvious place to protect her YouTube career. Just a thought.

She's just a compulsive liar, but her terrible organisational skills are so bad and she's so skatter-brained and lazy that she can't be bothered to stay consistent with her lies. She's maybe read 5% of the books in her room, and that's being generous. She might as well call both bookcases her TBR shelves.

All the dark academia books she owns, I 100% guarantee she just Googled "dark academia books" and bought the most popular ones, put them on a shelf and has never read them.

For proof, try suffering through that "Everything you need to know about dark academia" video, where she shows almost no understanding or knowledge of the subject and is clearly reading definitions she pulled from the front page of a Google search.

Through that weird fake-smiling narration she does, she says The Secret History is "the staple one for this aesthetic. This is the one you'll see referenced the most online." She's clearly never read it and has no thoughts to offer. She just bought it because the listicles she found online in a cursory Google search told her it was a dark academia book. She'll never admit to not reading it.

Her amazing insight into her dark academia books and what makes them great examples of the aesthetic/subgenre also includes:

Harry Potter: "..." (The series she should theoretically have the most insight into, she days nothing about.)

Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls: "A collection of essays which are very, very funny." (Which is practically just the cover blurb.)

Villette: "This is set in a boarding school."

The Ocean at the End of the Lane: "The old-fashioned elements of this really remind me." ("Of what?" you might ask. Good question. Ruby's feeble brain offers this up as a complete sentence.)

She also offers up two "Jules Vernes" books. I wonder if he has any connection to Jules Verne.

And why the heck is she wearing long sleeves and heavy clothes all the time this summer? Another ED thing? I have lots of friends in the UK and it has been terribly hot for them. They are all walking around in shorts and tank tops. She tosses on layers of clothes and wears her boring hair straight down.

I think someone has mentioned before that it could be an ED thing but to be honest the weather is VERY changeable in the UK and August has been a bit of a disappointment for people who like summer, much cooler than usual.

I hate the way she says her 'S' sounds through her teeth. It sounds so forced and grating, and she literally chose to speak like that.

I think she has a bit of a lisp actually. I was watching some of her old videos from when she was a philosophy/theology student and I picked up on a few instances of her sounding like she has a lisp. And I think someone commented on the last thread that she has a bit of a lisp. I’ve heard it recently too, namely in her room redecoration video.

Nothing wrong with a lisp obviously, I’ve just been hearing every now and then.

fjallraven do say the classic isn’t suitable to carry a laptop in all the time. The laptop one has a zippered padded laptop section and can support the weight better.

I’ve put my laptop in mine briefly to carry in the car; but I wouldn’t use it as a laptop rucksack at Uni with books etc aswell

I don't own a kanken so I don't know but the classic version looks a bit flimsy to carry a laptop, like it won't protect it very well from bumps and hits when you carry it around. I would also be worried about the straps ripping from too much weight.

OT but I've been catching up on the previous threads and wanted to add my 2 cents (sorry for bringing this up again lol) - as an autistic girl who has researched the condition extensively and has worked with others on the spectrum, I really doubt Ruby is autistic. Her obsessions (ever-changing aesthetics and literature) are surface-level, and whilst she does appear to have difficulty socially, it doesn't seem like that's due to an inability rather than a self-imposed difficulty due to how she sees herself as 'superior' to others. You can be socially awkward and not autistic lol. Whilst it appears differently in each person, I just don't see it.

Also ngl some of the speculation across the recent threads has been bordering on uncomfortable due to a few ignorant comments so I just wanted to add my bit!

I’m with ya on this, I’m autistic too and I just don’t see it. I’m no doctor, but I definitely relate to some her her behaviours due to my anxiety and OCD, I think it’s much more likely she’s experiencing one or both of them, especially with the obvious eating issues.

Sorry to be a bit off topic again, but I've been reading through all the threads and found this video as people were talking about a puppy called Lola, and I just want to say...wtf is this breathing in the audio? I actually had to pause the video and rewind it to make sure it was from this video. Edit- and yes this video is old from 2018 but it's just really strange to me.
