RE: The Kanken/Uni bag debate, I actually have a plain old big padded black rucksack that's specifically designed and sold as a laptop case that I use if I ever have to take my proper laptop anywhere, and have stuck some pin badges on it to make it feel a bit more 'me'. That said, I do have a Kanken-style backpack from Notebook Therapy (it is the cutest thing, cost a fraction of the price and has a NO FACE FROM SPIRITED AWAY patch on it where the Fjallraven logo would be) which I bought for my MLitt a couple years ago and is still going strong, I'm careful not to overfill it but I can easily fit a slim ring binder, notebooks, a couple of library books and a small laptop I have (was an emergency "my laptop broke and I'm in the middle of my dissertation panic purchase D:") in it without any problem. Can absolutely recommend Notebook Therapy if you're into 'aesthetic' stationery and bags, they're actually pretty good quality and not too expensive for those sorts of Asian-esque stationery shops.

Have we ever dissected the description she's now putting on each of her videos? Hard to decide what my favourite part is, but I think I've landed on "without feeding into Hustle Culture." (Why the capital letters? We may never know)

How delightfully ironic from one of the people most responsible for pedaling hustle culture on YouTube, having crafted her entire social media career off the back of toxic productivity.
Grace Beverley vibes right there smh

I actually stopped watching Roobee for Molly. As somebody who has struggled with an eating disorder in the past, she approaches things very well, She also seems like so much of a well - rounded, happy person. I think she did the right thing by cutting Roobee off.

Doing PE with the other kids doesn’t really translate to any skill though, does it? What I’m saying is that the only thing she seems to have pursued is studying.
No as in a Wednesday afternoon, private schools have a high percentage of pupils off at competitive fixtures, if you don’t do that, you have to do something else. So by chances she must have previously played an instrument etc, this even happens at 6th form too

Never restock, and never send to half your customers, it would seem... 😬
Or to contest winners (who were never selected because Ruby be scammin').

But make sure friends and casual acquaintances get a freebie, because when you're friends with Ruby, who needs enemies?

Am I the only one who saw a new video from Ruby go up and then instantly disappear or was I imagining it? For reference it was a video on "How I organise my massive stationery collection"
A video like that came up in my recommendeds, but it was from around a year ago.
Edit: This one:

OMG! I didn't watch the video and only read your comments about the trunk. I didn't think it was THIS moldy! She is crazy if she's putting her clothes in ther without removing that disgust!
Same! I was under the assumption that it was moldy on the outside, for some reason. But oh dear - you couldn’t pay me to store my (albeit non-Victorian nor Dark Acadaymia) clothes in there.

Q: Did Ruby get a nose job? In her most recent video, something about it looks... sculpted and as if it was sewn? By the way, this is just a question of observation not anything else.

Confused millenial here. I thought dark academia means reading a lot/being interested in the classics (both music and literature). Or is it a literary genre of its own?

Okay i just watched her video while cooking, and it might just be me being dumb but English is not my first language and I couldn’t really pick up on any oddly pronounced author names… does that mean I’ve been pronouncing authors name wrong my entire reading career? 😳 embarrassing..

Jesus that’s so cheap to me!! I’m looking for a place rn here in the Netherlands and €1600 is average for a one bedroom apartment. €600 is like a 20m2 studio!!
I think it really depends on the area you live in. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment that's 50m2 with roof terrace in the Netherlands and my rent is € 870. But have to agree with you that so many apartments are really small and super overpriced!

I think she's trying to say that because she keeps the bulk of the house generally clean, it's fine if there's cobwebs in the corner or dust on the shelves. She's down to earth and not like other housewives. The problem is that the whole house looks dank, dingy and disgusting and its floors and surfaces have never seen a cleaning product in the entire time that family has lived there. Instead she spends her days indulging the childish fancies of her daughter and living a life of leisure.
Tbh, I feel like running a fundraiser for the new vacuum as that thing‘s going to need saving …

I'm trying to watch her bookcase tour and along with all the baffling mispronounciations and the only superficial interest she has in all the covers of those books she clearly hasn't ready, it annoys me how violent she is with all her books.

You'd think someone so obviously only interested in books as an aesthetically pleasing prop would take better care of them, but she's contantly ripping off dustjackets and hurling them on the ground, bending spines, violently slamming them around. Not surprising considering the state of her family's library that this family of swamp trolls don't take care of anything they own, but it's aggravating.

And after she had to steal half her parents books to fill most of her bookshelves, does it strike anyone else as weird that she's putting books borrowed from the library/Blakeney on her shelves as if she owns them? I only organise things alongside other books on the shelf if they're mine, borrowed books go off to the side or somewhere. What's the point in putting borrowed books in there if you're taking up space and are going to have a gap when you return it?
this made me laugh so chuffin loud 🤣
