Youā€™re absolutely right- this is the post with the Harry Potter analogy, but she put it in the commentsā€¦
Wait. If Iā€™m understanding correctlyā€¦sheā€™s just compared Boris Johnson to Hugh Grant?! What?
I need whatever wacky backy sheā€™s smoking. Maybe my husband will look like Chris Hemsworth then.

No, because at the time she wrote it David Cameron was PM.

Boris Johnson isn't even PM currently. It's Rishi Sunak

Whilst the Tories are currently a shambles, I don't think it's "embarassing" to have called herself a "die hard Tory girl" 10 years ago. It's what you would expect from someone born in the "home counties" with upper-middle class parents etc.

It would be more embarassing for someone with that background to pretend to be a working class hero etc. Or deny having been a Tory to begin with

I do know the current PM is Rishi sunak, thanks. I wasnā€™t aware of how long ago she wrote that.
David Cameron is also just as comical compared to hugh grant.
Calling oneself a ā€œdie hard tory girlā€ is the most embarrassing, whether now, ten years ago, Or even during maggieā€™s reign. Itā€™s really not something anyone should say, let alone loudly proclaim it as some sort of badge of
honour.
I much prefer champagne socialists.

I disagree. When she did that post it was very clear that she had no idea about politics and didnā€™t understand what she was blithering and I really think expressing political views at that stage was embarrassing full stop. The way she went about it was just laughable. If she had tried to argue some lefty leaning it would have at least suggested she knew what she was talking about beyond equating politics to Love Actually
---
Or if she had been able to articulate why she was a ā€˜die hard Toryā€™ beyond appearances. I cannot believe she wore that to Downing Street meanwhile what the hell hahahah

I doubt she actually went to downing St, didn't she just go to that fake downing St door?

I'm not arguing that her political knowledge left a lot to be desired, and that the Harry Potter analogy was cringe.

But as someone that knew her IRL, and followed her blog from the beginning - back when she was just an intern. There was one post where she went for an interview with some company very close to Labour, and confessed to being a die hard Tory.

I was just pointing out, that her background and upbringing, social circles etc are all fairly stereotypical Tory ones. Therefore, for her to confess or admit to feeling any differently would be odd

Whilst it's unrealistic to compare politicians appearances to actors, there isn't a million miles between them. Especially as Hugh Grant started his career playing that kind of upper class English character, and even appeared in Notting Hill - the Notting Hill Set being a nickname used to refer to Cameron and other politicians of that era

I wonder if she looks back at her lies and cringes. No, wait, this is Rose, who just deliberately set up photos and captions hinting she was pregnant so she could scold people about not loving other women or whatever.

At least she got attention for her body again. Happy birthday old Blow!

She literally did compare looks - floppy hair big smiles. I think youā€™re trying to give her more credit than she deserves purely based on what she has written herself. You can also visit no.10 without making a declaration of being a ā€œdie hard tory girlā€.

Is ā€œdie hard tory girlā€ the new fake Hermes?

I don't think I'll ever get over her family playing along with it, that is the most bizarre part for me. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at Damon realising she was claiming his flat was hers šŸ˜…šŸ˜†

The irony of this statement is that it shows a lack of understanding of politics. Not everyone thinks like you or agrees with you. Especially not the English electorate, which is why the Conservatives are one of the most successful political parties globally.

Sure, their polling is terrible at the moment and Starmer will probably be the next PM. But that's only because Boris shot himself in the foot with his rulebreaking hypocrisy. The British electorate has not suddenly converted from centre-right to centre-left/left wing

Iā€™m not talking politics. Iā€™m talking about how cringe Rosie is with her political declarations.
Youā€™re probably on the wrong thread.

yeah, I'm done

Really, that should be obvious and doesn't need explaining or debating.
Does it help your tunnel vision and comprehension if I say it would be just as cringe if she said ā€œdie hard labour girlā€ or ā€œdie hard Lib Dem girlā€ or ā€œdie hard Green Party girlā€?
think you are done but feel free to mansplain more politics into the ether.
