everyday I hate ‘the man’ more and more. How bleeping dare they think they have a right to choose what a woman does with her body!!!

Anyone who thinks policing of women's language has not led to this are deluding themselves. Every bleeping left winger in the last few years, including Planned Parenthood, have fallen over themselves to not use the word woman. Take that word away and you have no words to speak about your rights. Abortion becomes people's rights, no longer relevant to women.

If you think it cannot happen here in the UK, think again. Take away plain and simple language, the language used to talk about reproduction, menstruation, menopause, make all of them 'people's rights' and they mean duck all. Be kind left activism has done this, and that is as someone who is a life long leftist. The tit has gone too far. It has gone from 'be kind' to get on your bleeping knees and know your place.

In case you cannot tell, I am bleeping furious. I celebrated along with American women when Roe v Wade was passed. And I am mourning with them at its removal. Don't dare to try and tell me I am not seeing what I am clearly seeing. Don't tell me I am wrong about erasure of language. Part of my degree was linguistics, I know how powerful words are, and how powerful their removal is. For those at the back, if you have not got it yet, LANGUAGE IS IMPORTANT.

My degree...if it helps is in Government. The SC made the decision. A decision that the majority of the US population doesn't agree with. It is an institution which is populated by political appointees. Trump placed three RW nutjobs in it intentionally to enact religious far right overturning of constitutional rights.

It does seem so bizarre for the USA to turn the clock back and ban abortion rights.

I also wish that there was less of the emotive language......all the protection of the unborn child stuff. In some respects I can see where the pro lifers are coming from, protection of unborn children. But they arent considering all the other things that go alongside pregnancy.

The medical issues, the financial issues, the womans right to chose what is happening to her own body. The psychological and emotional damage that can be done for children born into families that dont want them, The damage done to mothers who dont want to have a child then and there, and who are trapped into motherhood.

Because they are also erasing same sex language. They talk about girldick, translesbians, just so you know. Old fashioned same sex attracted homosexuals do not like the erasure of their language either. That they have to accept queer, an insult thrown at them before punches were. So yes, the erasure of language is a problem for everyone fighting to retain rights they fought bleeping hard for. It is everything to do with language, everything. Take away words, and you take away any way of talking about rights.

that’s the truly mad thing about america though, the president can do nothing. he absolutely can disagree, like he and obama both adamantly disagreed with the current gun laws, but his power to actually change things is limited without “the house” on his side. the decisions go to the individual states now on how they proceed.

I had a termination for medical reasons at 23 weeks, the groups for tfmr are full of woman who are heartbroken by this . Thinking what happens if they need another tfmr, what happens to a friend who does and so on.
it won’t stop abortion, it will just stop safe abortions, go watch call the midwife. dirty wire and all sorts put into women to end a pregnancy. Women dying of blood loss and infections, women made permanently infertile after have a back street abortion as a young women, this is awful

My blood ran cold when I saw the news yesterday, and I've been trying to process the horror ever since. If that sounds dramatic to anybody then lucky them for living such a deluded/charmed life.

I had an abortion in my mid-twenties. I was in a great relationship with a lovely man who I'm now married to, I had completed my professional qualifications, was financially secure and owned my own house. I was finally in a good place mentally and physically, after years of struggling with anorexia and depression. Despite this, I was absolutely gutted when I found out I was pregnant after a contraceptive failure, and was on the phone to BPAS the next day. I didn't find the abortion (medical, at 6 weeks) traumatic and I didn't regret it afterwards. I felt nothing but huge relief. It wasn't a difficult decision for me.

There was outwardly no reason why I 'had to' have an abortion. I was exactly the sort of person that people would have looked at and thought 'she'll make it work' but I simply didn't want a child then and didn't in any way feel ready to be a mother. I was sickened by the instant lack of control I felt over my own body. If you said to me 'you can have an abortion but you'll have to spend 10 years in prison afterwards', I'd have done it in a flash - I can honestly say I would absolutely rather have killed mysefl than be forced to continue that pregnancy. I guess I'm now realising that there are people who would have seen that as preferable to me being provided with an inexpensive and straightforward (for me) medical procedure. I will never ever understand the people who think that I should have had to carry and give birth to a child against my will. A child should never be a punishment. It is infinitely preferable to not exist than to live a life of being unwanted and uncared for.

I have never regretted my abortion, even now that I'm in my mid-thirties and struggling to conceive. That embryo was not wanted, in that moment. When it was aborted, it didn't have a sense of self, it didn't have a mind, a consciousness, fears, hopes and dreams or probably even a heartbeat. I did have all of those things, and as callous as it will sound to some, my need to be in control of my body and future were more important than that tiny cluster of cells, and that is RIGHT.

To think that anybody in 2022 should be forced to carry a pregnancy they don't want, let alone those pregnant in much more terrible circumstances than I was, is just barbaric.

I’m disgusted at how many men there are celebrating this decision. No man has any right to tell a woman what she can and can’t do with her body. Our bodies, our choice. duck off with your celebrating. You will never have to go through the tit that we do. Periods, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause etc. Your life as a man will infinitely be easier.
