Roe v. Wade

Very bad times ahead. I am hoping that perhaps women will be able to access abortion pills or use the Del-Em system, which was devised in the 1970s and is infinitely safer than soap and coat hangers. Times have moved on and perhaps women can find ways of circumnavigating the laws which seek to deny them access to formal abortion services.

Women are being attacked from all sides. No words are adequate to express the disgust and loathing I feel towards forced birthers.

Those poor women! I'm so bleeping angry!!

Maybe if the Dems had focused less on calling women 'birthing bodies', 'breeders' and all the other rit they come up with, they'd have been in more of a position to fight this!

I have had 2 abortions almost 20 years apart for very similar reasons. I have the right to choose. No one owns my womb but me. I have also had a child born 2 weeks after the technical limit of viability of life.

duck anyone who thinks they have a right over a womans body. My body my choice bleeps

Edit. am in the UK which thankfully has no ultra relegious RW wing. ..Tho they are watching on how to reduce rights generally people

Expect infanticide rates to increase, also child abuse and neglect will increase too. The forced birthers are too bloody stupid to realise what the consequences will be. They're too brainwashed by religion it seems. Wait until all the middle aged, middle class churchgoers start falling pregnant with unwanted menopause pregnancies. Perhaps they'll change their minds when they find themselves on the receiving end. Apparently, accidental pregnancies during peri menopause make up a fair percentage of women seeking terminations.

I can't comprehend how an advanced industrial nation like the US can behave in this way. It beggars belief.

As a Catholic, I'm appalled by this decision!!! For me this is blurs the line between church and state.

As several people have said, this is not a pro life decision cos once these kids are born, all these pro life gits don't care about them!!! Particularly when they're being shot in their class rooms.

But really if the pro lifers think that this will stop abortion, it won't. Abortion in the UK wasn't legal till the 1960s and there were still abortions taking place every day of the week.

And rich women will still have abortions - in nice clean private clinics. It's poor women who'll be at this rulings mercy.

Exactly! They want it so that this isn't a women's issue but a "people" issue. Well don't be surprised when people, i.e. men, make these decisions. After all, "men can get pregant too." 🙃

FFS do NOT make this a trans issue. It is not. Taking over these conversations is not helpful. If you want to talk about your abortions or lack of ability to get one join in. Or if you mourn the rights of women to access abortions..come in.
If not jog off! It is not the bleeping time or place

Men have been making decisions about women long before trans identity politics became a talking point. Can’t blame trans people for this one. There has always been a strong religious right lobby in the US and this is what happens when people vote them into power.

This IS erasure of women's rights to their bodies. It absolutely ties in the the trend of erasing womens’s rights to speak up for themselves and their safety too. Women's rights are being rolled back. What the eff is America playing at with this?!

This was made a trans issue years ago. And who do you think you are to tell me what I can and can't comment about? You're not a moderator. Typical of TRAs though, forever trying to police everyone else's language.

Trans women are not affected by this in any way. Can’t we keep the focus on the women who are?

It is an abortion issue...You are embarrassing yourself

I would add that there are many many links with anti trans movements with the right wing religious anti abortion movements.

Step away or shout out for womens reproductive rights or you are literally anti women

Made the mistake of going on Twitter. My god some of the comments, mainly from men are truly shocking.
This is such a sad day for America what a step backwards. Only putting women in danger

I didn't mention trans women once. And I certainly don't blame trans people for this as you seem to think I do. But this extreme policing around women's ability to speak about themselves and their rights have absolutely not helped things in recent years.

Turning back the clock on women's rights... who'd have thought the US and Afghanistan would have so much in common in 2022?

Why bring trans into this? It is not the point is it?

This is not a pro life decision. Its a pro birth decision. Its a control of bodies decision.

A country who were truly pro life would ban weapons which are killing children weekly. Would offer paid maternity leave as law. Would offer paid maternity pay as law. Would offer free healthcare.

Im heartbroken for all birthing people in America today.

Considered of value until you exit the birth canal.

Forcing people to have children they do not want is abhorrent.
Exactly. It’s not about the life that’s born because once that child is here no one cares about it anymore. Kids will end up in the system, abused or in poverty because people were forced to have them. But no one will care for them once they enter the world. Absolutely tragic. I can’t get my head around how this is happening.

Look, ultimately we are on the same side. I get the feeling you haven't been paying attention in recent years. Many would call you a bigot by calling this a women's rights issue (which I 100% agree with you that it is). I support trans rights, up until they clash with women's rights - which they do.
