I've got 2 designer bags, they are my rewards for working hard. I take them out on special occasions.

I've really gone of designer bags as every Tom, fool and Harry has one. I went to a party once and everyone had a gucci bag. There was nothing special about it and they all looked like lemmings.

I’ve had fake and real bags and my fakes have lasted longer than my real designer bags.

Also, quite often “fakes” are made in the same factory using the exact same material as the real goods or they buy one bag, take it a part and use it as a template, again using the material from the factories where the real bags are made. Most designer brands these days are not ethical, there’s a reason why the moved the factories out to China, India, Turkey etc from the U.K.

So if you wanna buy a fake go for it, if you wanna buy a real go for it... it’s your life, no judgement! More likely than not, it’s probably 90% real!

I have quite a few designer bags and so far, they’re all going great! I’ve never had anything break on me. So I can definitely say the quality is amazing. I think the canvas from Louis Vuitton is pretty much indestructible. I use my LV bag so so much, in snow, in heat, and I’m not careful with my bags either (I paid for them, why not enjoy them?!). So I’d really recommend Louis Vuitton bags

however I did have the straps fray just a little on my YSL tote, but I used that bag to death 😂 seriously overstuffed it for long haul flights, so I can see why.

I’ve never cared what people buy tbh, didn’t realise buying fakes offended people that much. I wouldn’t but I couldn’t care less if others did. What I would consider buying though is fake Nike shoes etc. Brands that aren’t as big. When nike releases Jordan’s for example, they sell out in seconds because resellers buy them to sell them for 3x the price. I’ve heard the fakes are way better from YouTube comparisons and I’m not paying a selfish reseller £500 for shoes that are meant to be £100🤷🏻‍♂️

The fake is not offensive, it's the terrorism, human trafficking and pedophile rings the fake sales fund that is offensive.

Edit; Anyone purchasing fake goods, regardless of quality, is complicit in the crimes they fund. Never rail against human trafficking if you own a fake, it would be hypocritical, as you were no less than a donor, a supporter, given it is now common knowledge that the replica market funds those activities.

My sister bought me a fake Chanel bag for Christmas. According to her, it's what you call a AAA fake. Honestly, I can't tell the difference. She said its from one of the people that supplies Camden market.

These crimes are also funded in many many other ways too there’s no exclusivity to a fake Gucci bag. You know governments around the world fund terrorism too... so if “Jane” who works all the hours would love a Gucci bag and that’s all she can afford, then so what?!

Also lets stop acting like fake bags *cause* child trafficking or whatever when they *may* (I say ‘May’ as not every fake bought funds terrorism or trafficking) be interlinked. Fakes don’t cause these things, these crimes would still happen, even if Jane didn’t buy that fake Gucci handbag. Maybe instead we need to focus on why child trafficking, terrorism is rife instead of blaming Jane???

Absolutely no one said that, not even the journalists who document it. It is not the cause, it is the support system. The replica industry helps fund it and pointing to other funnels of cash into it don't justify it. I thought whataboutism is for americans.

Cutting cash flow sure would help to slow it but Jane must impress people she does not know with her fake Gucci, so ample justification is abound 😂. I've never cared for conspicuous consumerism, I think it's vulgar and could never justify possibly aiding crimes against humanity to show off for strangers but that's just me. 🤷‍♂️

could you post a picture of it? I’m curious to see what it looks like. I have an authentic Chanel bag, and would want to see how close the fake comes in terms of design!

Why child trafficking & terrorism is rife is a whole other issue. Fakes and replicas just contribute to it.
And to the people who “couldn’t care less” about the fake industry ... ignorance is bliss!

Louis Vuitton customer service is amazing! I have a pair of LV trainers, had them a year and they split across the front where your foot bends and creases the shoe- they just straight up replaced them. Marvellous!

I don’t owe throw away fakes. I own 1:1 replicas which are made with the same craftsmanship as an authentic bag. I also have authentic bags and near enough every single one of my replica bags trumps the quality of the authentic. I don’t think people realise these aren’t knock offs from a market in Dubai, these are seriously skilled people making 1:1 copies.

I’m not talking about market stall fake Gucci handbags. When you buy authentic, you aren’t paying for better construction or materials or labour, you’re paying for marketing and this ‘aspirational brand’. Super fakes are constructed in the same way, for example a Chanel CF and one bought from a top tier factory are 1;1.

These bags are bought directly from sellers in China who work closely with factories. Yes we don’t know the conditions of the factories or who they fund but we can say the exact same for brands like Chanel and LVMH. You could even argue that a more significant cut of the profit from the $600 paid for a super fake is more likely to be split with the sellers and labourers compared to$5000 lining an ~unethical millionaires pocket who are also exploiting people to make billions of pounds. Here’s some articles to read: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/...workers-who-assemble-designer-bags-in-tuscany

Another:https://www.thefashionlaw.com/the-less-than-transparent-realities-behind-made-in-italy-fashion/

Brands like Coach, Michael Kors, Anya Hindmarch, Tory Burch are also made in factories in China. Other brands near enough fully construct the bag in China then send over to Italy or France for minor details to get that ‘Made in France’ stamp. Chanel is allowed to raise its prices every year to keep it ‘exclusive’. Brands like Chanel burn excess stock to keep the brand ‘exclusive’.

I appreciate it’s a hard pill to swallow when you’ve had the idea of owning designer goods as something to feel proud of as you’ve worked hard for it. I get it, I used to buy authentic (sometimes still do) until I found out about how super fakes work.

Designer goods were made to separate the rich from the poor, they’re known as a marker of status and however most of us try to deny this isn’t what we buy designer clobber for - it literally is. As a society, we put designer clothes and accessories on a pedestal. It’s capitalism at its finest! When people say ‘if you don’t have the money don’t buy it!!!’ Its really condescending and sounds like you’re saying that people with less money than you aren’t allowed to have what you have. This also ignores the fact that many rich people also buy super fakes.
Could you advise where you get these super fakes if allowed thanks

There’s no such thing as a 1:1 replica, if there is then post the photos of yours, I’ve looked through loads of photos on reddit with 9+* reviews and in my eyes you can tell they’re a fake.

Came here for a nosy after reading MM thread and glad to see people share the same opinion as me.

It’s one thing saving up for a £700 Louis Vuitton bag and another thing saving up for a £3000 Chanel.
I earn £20k a year so there’s no way I could afford that Chanel when I’m paying my mortgage etc. I’ve wanted one since I was 15. Ain’t gonna happen. Will I get a fake? I’m not sure yet.
Same for me I’ve wanted a Chanel for years and it will be a long time before I can get one, but will you ever have the same satisfaction buying a cheap knock off? Most likely not.

Exactly, there are crap fakes and good fakes but no one hand sewing a fake and using identical materials and selling for a few hundred pounds. No one does 1:1, sounds like a salespersons line.
I am on a wait list for a bag and think the wait may be half the fun, like Christmas. No way a phony would feel the same. I don't have to worry about it being taken away by border control either.

Which bag are you getting? I'm thinking of getting a new one. Not sure whether to get a day one or more of a dress up/evening bag.

agree with this. My ultimate bag is a Celine luggage or belt bag but I’m waiting to buy it because it’s a sense of achievement!

It's custom order which is why I am in a wait. I don't want to say as no matter how I do, it will sound like a brag.

A day bag can always be carried over to evening with the right accessories. 😉

Buy preloved or just buy something else.

Don’t buy A fake. What’s the point? Pretending to have dough when you don’t? Seems a bit silly to me.
