Posted this in the jury thread but just worked out that Ricky who was in the jury programme and celebrated swaying the other jurors was/ is the stepfather of jack sepple who murdered Ashley Wadsworth. Feel sick.

Was Ricky the one who kept saying the victim must have done something to provoke the murder? If so, this context makes those kind of comments even more sinister!

Yes he was the older man with all the gold wasn’t he? Very sinister, there’s no way he should have been on that programme based on his family history. And reading the article above the mum sounds awful too.

Does anyone know if having a close relative convicted of the same crime would be a reason for being excluded from a jury? Or is it considered not relevant? Just curious.

I think it is very relevant. No way should they be on a jury imho.

I don’t think it is relevant according to the guidelines. But that programme does bring up issues with our current system moo.

You’d think, considering what his step son did, he’d have more compassion for a female victim rather than less. 😣

How do we know this Ricky is the Ricky from The Jury? Is it just the same surname?

Isn't that the point of having a jury?
To have people from a wide variety of background and experience.

The alternative is the farce of judges "pretending" to know what a reasonable lay-person would believe - as is the case in libel trials.

Brian Field had died. I think he definitely had a number of victims. Whilst I don’t think he would have confessed and given families information it does feel like they have been denied justice by his death 😞

I hadn't heard of those stories. Those poor, poor little boys. I hope he suffered horribly in prison.

It is the same Ricky. Ricky Dalton builder is the same from the jury. Tracy dalton, Jack Sepple’s mom is his wife. she has public Facebook profile pictures and there are pictures of Ricky and jack together. See attached. Channel 4 should have done a better background check. It did not take me long to connect the dots because I followed Ashley’s case and Dalton is not a very common surname and in essex. Am appalled they allowed Ricky on the jury. it is so insensitive to Ashley’s family.

this has a picture of Tracy with jack sepple.

The mum is disgusting. ‘Running away is not the answer’. She was a teenage girl in a foreign country who was being abused by her son and she knew it. What a messed up woman.

Maybe it’s an idea to email Channel 4 about this?

It’s from a while ago so no idea if it’s been discussed before, but I came across a documentary on Prime called No Place to Hide about the rape and suicide of Rehtaeh Parsons.

That poor girl was failed on so many levels by the police and her school. And when one of the boys finally did admit it on Facebook he was still never charged with sexual assault, only distributing child porn for the pics taken at the time. And didn’t then serve any jail time.

I can’t get her out of my head now.

And then afterwards the family had go suffer this horrible article pretty much victim blaming.

I just watched the channel 4 documentary on this a few weeks ago, I think it's on Youtube. He's the main suspect in the kidnapping of two young boys from poorer backgrounds. The police didn't give a tit and it wasn't even investigated

I’ve started watching The Jinx on Sky Documentaries about Robert Durst and his murders. I hadn’t watched it previously but there is a sequel to the documentary series just airing this week so thought I would give it a watch. It’s a bizarre case!
