Who on earth would work for a police firearms team now? As well as being charged with murder, his name has been released for allegedly shooting a gang member. If I was that officer I would be shitting myself and very concerned for any of my family members.

Sentencing remarks for Marcus Osborne.

This is like something out of a horror movie and I can see why the press have said some of it is too disturbing to report, so this comes with a massive warning before reading.

There are going to be a number of very traumatised people who have to live with what they saw that day, and for the families knowing what happened.

That was a hard read. So many people affected: those poor kids who were present throughout, the victims families, the rape victim who must be feeling horrendously guilty and the poor paramedics and police having to witness that scene. She must've thought she was safe by him having a bail order but his scummy neighbours kept watch. Do they feel guilty now too? Just another horrible man who can't let their ex move on. How many has that been recently? I'm sick of it.

What’s the story about this vicar coming to do a funeral but the mourners were fake and they aren’t even sure there was a body in the coffin?
---
Anyone heard about the ongoing investigations into the Humberside funeral director? Police have have been there for 3 days now. Some of the bodies have been moved and police have said it's a complex investigation. Comments have been turned off on a lot of posts about it. The only comment I did see was in relation to satanic cults/organ harvesting.

Bloody hell, even when you’re dead you’re not safe. On Twitter someone said that they have been taking fees for cremation but not actually carrying out the service and bodies have been left to pile up. They said their friend has the ashes of someone else because her father’s body is still at the funeral directors from a few years ago.

they’ve removed over 30 bodies from one of the locations and taken them to a different mortuary.
Lots of rumours are circling. It seems like they was not cremating the bodies. And bodies are still there from a few years ago.

The choice of case is leaving me a bit uncomfortable to be honest, because there are different issues going on.

It’s meant to be about the justice system and whether two juries who hear the same evidence will reach the same verdict which you could actually apply to any case.

But this case to me is actually highlighting a bigger issue towards attitudes towards women, domestic violence, misogyny etc. but I feel like this will just be accepted and rather overlooked as it wasn’t the original intention of the experiment.

I've just been reading about Lee Boxall. His parents have kept his bedroom exactly how he left it. Seeing his maths homework on his desk and all his football posters and magazines just hit me hard. I can't imagine how parents of missing children feel (grown up children included). It must wrench at your stomach every hour of the day.

I would be really interested to see some proper research into the effects of exposure to pornography (especially hard-core porn) and subsequent sex offending.
A lot of legal porn walks right along the line (stepdaughter, babysitter, petite girl, school uniform, etc.) and will (in my opinion) naturally lead to disgusting interests.
They have always been there, but now they have access to so much more and so not only does it allow them to offend more freely, it also normalises their criminal behaviour. I utterly detest them all.
Couldn't agree more with everything you say... but there are plenty of women who are willing to shout it down and say how "empowering" OF, porn etc is.
IMO it's a poison within our modern day society.

I have followed a many and varied range of investigations and trials over my adult life. But very few have hit me as hard as this case. When I try to imagine the fear she would have felt when realised that she had been tricked into his car, as he drove out of London and down to Kent - it can still move me to tears. I have a visceral hate for him.
same :( i can’t imagine how terrified she must have been when she realised.

her mother’s victim impact statement has always stayed with me too. especially when she mentions imagining herself in the footage saying no sarah don’t get in the car with him. heartbreaking.

Such a horrible time for these families, more seems to be coming out. I'm very grateful that I've never had to deal with a funeral arrangements in my life so far. Some of these families will have to grieve all over again, not knowing if they have got their family members ashes or buried properly.
I had to deal with funeral arrangements for my father during Covid and they were quite cruel about it, telling me I couldn’t visit him, they’d double bag him in a body bag, etc as well as other horrible things. Luckily enough I found another funeral directors who showed so much compassion and they bent over backwards to help me. I still have flashbacks to back then and I get upset & angry so I could only imagine the utter heartbreak of what these families have dealt with and will have to deal with. Planning a funeral and the aftermath is such a traumatic time but you usually have the small comfort that your loved one is at rest. But these families don’t even have that. It’s criminal but also so cruel.

My Wife My Abuser on Channel 5 now is so shocking about Sheree Spencer who abused her husband
An absolutely brutal watch. But so important, as a victim of DV myself (gender reversed) it was chilling to see but so real. To Richard, what a brave, kind and gentle soul, wishing you and your children all the best. Going on camera to tell your story shows some serious guts, expressing no animosity towards your abuser is another level. What a bloke!! 💙

I feel like emailing them to be honest.
I know sky news did the same and was called out in twitter.
She was a daughter, friend, sibling and she was murdered.
This has really upset me.

I was reading about poor Shakira Spencer last night, I don't know why but these killings of vulnerable adults really make me so so upset. I was on her facebook and there was literally a trace of one of the killers befriending her by commenting on her photos and Shakira even posted something about "hate when something is so close but you can't touch it yet" and that killer commented "not long now hun" with a house emoji. She was obviously waiting in the wings for Shakira to get her house so she could take it from her and take all her disability allowance :( She was clearly jealous of Shakira because she was so beautiful and kind and trusting while this scumbag was the exact opposite. These kind of cases are way too common it just really hurts me that these people rely on other people's kindness to help them navigate life and dirty scumbags are waiting in the wings to take advantage.

So bloody sad. And it could all have been avoided. I can't stop thinking about how Sarah must have felt in the back of his car when she worked out what was happening to her. RIP Sarah xxx

I'm watching it at the moment. I hope that bloody Patsy woman isn't featured; she has used the whole hideous story as a springboard for a strange career and it is sickening.

Watching the CCTV of Sarah is so difficult. It was the same with The Push footage: these women walking along, not knowing what they're walking into. It makes you want to scream.

This made me feel sick to my stomach. I hope these children get the help that they clearly need.
The defence is shocking. Young and immature? Er, young and immature children do not go around killing animals. That is not a defence and looks like the judge wasn’t impressed by it either. To be able to do that at such a young age is really disturbing. I hope they get proper rehabilitation.

The Australian stabber seemed to have some links with incel stuff. ‘Couldn’t get a girlfriend’ was his father’s statement. Another man hating women. Unfortunately the media/authorities are going down the ‘mental health’ line. When we take violence against women seriously?

Andrew Gosden is the one I come back to. He was so young and didn’t seem at all streetwise.

Some of the ones who go missing long-term you think maybe there’s a chance they wanted to and have started a new life somewhere else but I just can’t see how he could have managed it.

RE the 'cat killer case- how fucked up is it that killing a cat is only considered criminal damage? How have we not created a new category of crime for the killing of animals in this day and age? Especially when it's so often a stepping stone to killing a human!? It beggars belief! Makes me wonder what kind of measly sentences are being given out to those couple of horrific animal abuse cases discussed recently.
