I take them as the iron makes me constipated but they don’t give me what I imagined- it just makes my stools ‘softer’ so it comes out easier(?) Not like the runs haha. Sorry if TMI but the thought scared me at first too as I didn’t want to have to be dashing to the loo at inconvenient times but it really isn’t like that for me!🥰

I’ve been trying to up my water as I’m so thirsty and definitely getting constipated but I’m not loving having to pee every 45 minutes 😫

Thank you thank you! Are yours MCDA too? Our consultant today was brilliant - he basically said that with DCDA, there is an option for vaginal delivery or c-section at 37 weeks. However with MCDA, he said that they would strongly recommend a c-section at 36 weeks.

When I had spoken to the midwife, she did say there might be an option for vaginal delivery but speaking to the consultant today I think the safest option is the c section.
Mine are DCDA so we are scheduled to be scanned every 4 weeks after 12 weeks. My midwife said if they're head down then a vaginal delivery is better as recovery is quicker, but consultant recommends an elective c-section as often second baby gets stuck and then it ends in an emergency c-section. So we're thinking c-section is probably better to avoid any emergency situations hopefully. We;re thinking the same as you!!

Have you picked a pram?!! There's not too much choice for twins and what there is.. my god it's expensive!! Then I keep thinking about 2 car seats, 2 isofix bases.🙈

We're looking at cancelling our Disney trip at the end of the year as I'll be around 29 weeks and I already have to catch 2 flights to get to Paris as it is. Disney is the easy bit to cancel, but Easyjet are proving to be a pain!

For anyone wanting a good laxative ….try this. You can get it at the pharmacy and it’s safe for pregnant women. It works a dream. Nothing else helped me apart from this.

Now I’m 36 weeks and even on iron tablets I’m having the opposite problem 😩🫣
Also recommend this, it’s what they give you after you’ve had your baby too to help that first poop scenario and also major constipation due to childbirth in general

That is good to know! I need all the TMI, hahaha.

Yes! The boy is absolutely plonked on my bladder, the second I stand up or walk I feel like I need to pee. Even when I’m standing up from the bloody toilet! The physio told me about how to move myself about in case I was struggling to fully empty my bladder but it’s more my son’s position than anything else.

Little muff is so low (although is able to kick me simultaneously in my mole and top of the uterus so god knows what position they are in - feels very low the last few days. I’ve also developed some mildly angry stretch marks on the bottom of my tummy. I’m not fussed about them now but will probs be devastated post partum! 😂 I didn’t get any with my first.

If it makes you feel any better I had some pretty “bad” ones at the bottom of my bump which have now pretty much gone away, I’m 9 months pp and have done nothing to try and get rid of them. Think it’s just the skin shrinking back up. Hilariously I thought I’d gotten away without getting any but realised that actually my bump was just so massive I couldn’t see the underside of it 🤣

3:20am I woke up and I’ve been awake ever since 😳 was having toast and running a bath by about half 4. The drive to work was painful as was my ability to function cognitively so I stayed an extra 45 minutes just to be able to get tit done. I’m working from home tomorrow 🤣

I think I’m just a wee bit stressed/overwhelmed about how much I perceive I still have to do at home and at work before this baby comes along! MrDragName has been amazing and has treated me like a queen and taken on the absolute lions share of house stuff, but obviously the work stuff is up to me and it’s weird, handing your entire career over to someone for a year and not knowing how coming back is going to go. I know the whole ‘my career is my first born’ is a cliche but it is kind of true!

I had this really bad a few weeks ago! I find sleeping with a pillow or cushion between my legs at night really helps. It’s barely noticeable pain wise now

Yes this is exactly what I heard - I can’t imagine having to recover from both a c-section and vaginal delivery!

So I’ve done a little bit of research but still keep getting stuck on whether we want an in-line or side by side pram. I think side by side is cuter but in-line more practical. I also don’t want one that is too heavy! I have been recommended the duet buggy from mountainbuggy by a couple of twin parents.

We’re going to the shops tomorrow to take a look at prams and beds (again - not sure we want them to be in the same one at the start or if we should just get two).

Oh! Good luck with trying to get your money back - if you booked with a credit card you could try contacting your credit card company or if you have travel insurance?

You know when you look up a new "symptom" and it says its totally normal and in the next paragraph that it could be absolutely terrible?

That.

I'm 16+5 weeks pregnant with my second. My first is 8 so it's been a while since I went through this.

I've got HG so have lost a significant amount of weight. It's being medically managed and other than that baby is absolutely fine, growing well (I've had 6 scans now) and I'm doing not too badly considering how malnourished I've been.

2 nights ago I lay in bed and felt the bottom of my belly go rock hard and really tight. I thought oh that's strange that feels like braxton hicks but surely not. Ive got a very low small bump which popped around 14 weeks. Nothing at the top it's literally all along the bottom and I can feel my uterus stops below the belly button. But these carried on almost constantly all night and kept me awake. All day yesterday I had them every time I sat or lay down.

They've not been as bad today but I've just sat down for the first time in hours and I can feel it on the right hand side.

Ive had my cervix checked and it's closed and high. No cramps or bleeding and I feel fine otherwise.

Has anyone else had them this often and this early?

Google says its totally normal but then also says its absolutely terrible so that's no help. Ive got the consultant on Tuesday and plan to mention it to her then.

It's not sore it just feels uncomfortable but I only remember feeling them right at the end with my daughter. But then she was my first so maybe I did have them earlier and just didn't realise.

Definitely not dehydrated as I'm having IV fluids every few days at the hospital so I dont think it's being caused by that.

I definitely had them early-ish and I definitely wouldn’t worry, mention to the consultant and go to triage if you can’t wait til then 🩷

Could it just be that you’re carrying baby lower this time and it’s just moving around and balling up? I get a tightening and a bulge almost daily - lasts for a bit and then baby moves again. I’ve always just assumed it was little muff just moving rather than Braxton hicks. I asked dr google:

Ok, so the thing I appear to be too stupid to understand tonight is fitted sheets for Moses baskets. I have a family hand me down Moses basket with a slightly niche size. There are a small handful of mattresses that would fit. But everywhere from Amazon to John Lewis to eBay wants to sell me a mattress protector and sheets that are bigger than the mattress? As in, that’s the ‘frequently bought together’ suggestion. MrDN reckons this is because the total sheet size is bigger because it wraps around the mattress but… that’s not how these things usually work in terms of adult bed sizes.

Of course I just want to spend stupid money having a natural fibre mattress hand made to size with sheets to match but that is super daft.

Is your Moses basket mattress an oval shape or a rectangle?
