Amazing amazing amazing!
Absolutely pooping my pants.🙈 It'll be fine, just a shock!! Our little boy just turned 3 soooo we need to get a new car, sell something like our camper as it won't fit 5 of us. Probably move house in the next 4 years.🤣

We thought we wouldn't have to buy anything else as we kept the pram, next to me, etc from our first but now we've got to buy new car seats, new pram, another cot.🤣🙈

Had my private 8 week scan today.... two sacs, two heartbeats.🥹🥹

Twin A is measuring 7w6d and Twin B is measuring 8w1d.
Wow weeeeeeee! I bet that was a shock! I’m sure you’ve gone from “holy tit” to “omg so exciting” about 50 times since the scan 😂❤

Very much so!! My husband is a twin.. so luckily his Mum has been through these emotions, but she only had the two... no first little love in tow 🤣 hoping she'll be a great help despite it being 35 years ago!!

Not sure I'm ready for the chaos, but it's clearly ready for me!!

Congratulations!! When we tried for our second and 'last baby' we had the same thoughts about reusing what we kept from our son. Then we found out it was twins and all our plans have been thrown up in the air 😅 glad to be on this twin journey together💖

Oh my days no waaaay!! Congratulations!!! How many weeks are you if you don't mind me asking or have you had your little loves?

Has it sunk for you? If so, how long did that take?! Asking for a friend. 🙈

We had a lovely weekend away just the two of us which was very special. However, a short walk that was partially uphill that we did this morning has absolutely ended me. I’m not fit anyway, although I could previously bash out 15km of walks in one day once upon a time. But since getting pregnant, going up the stairs is a challenge. So climbing up a hill and crazy outdoor steps made with sleepers that are really high had me defeated. In fairness, in one of my many breaks where I was hanging over a fence gasping for air, a very sporty looking pregnant lady went past us and even she looked a bit out of breath, so that was reassuring. My poor old heart made it to 170 😳

Since we’ve come home I’ve felt awful and I had to take myself off to bed for a nap. Had some dinner, had a bath, now I’m lying in bed wondering how I am supposed to pretend to be a functioning human at work tomorrow. I’m humiliated to tell you the walk was 3.5k 🤣 I managed a 4.5k walk on Friday which was gloriously flat, the only issue was it was hot hot hot (for Scotland) so I called it quits on any others on that day. Poor Mr D had designs on some 6km walks but it was not going to happen!

The fatigue is real! I was out with friends yesterday laughing and playing board games etc. today I was wiped.
But also I think little one was in a weird position because just before getting into bed I needed a poop - then did the biggest fart I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was honestly shocked to still see a bump because the pressure that I didn’t realise was there just vanished 😂😂😂😂 I’d apologise for the tmi but I genuinely don’t care. I’d like one of those farts daily!

Mine is on my bladder constantly now. Standing and walking can feel horrible because I feel this pressure on my bladder. I was hoping I’d get a few more weeks grace before this happened! I just came over all funny and felt sick and uncomfortable when we got home so I went to bed for about an hour and three quarters which helped but not fully. Which will have ruined my very poor sleep for tonight and the cycle continues! Oh well, still had a lovely weekend away and regret nothing except maybe climbing a small hill at 30 1/2 weeks pregnant 🤣

My farts smell awful. I mean, it’s not like they ever smell good but usually you can tolerate your own smell. I cannot, a lot of the time. I blame the boy DNA in my body 🤣

Just over 23 weeks now! I found out at 13 weeks and I would say after my 20 week scan it all started to feel a bit more real but tbh I still don't think it has or will ever sink in 😂

How exciting!!! So glad there's someone else on this thread expecting twinnies. I'm glad we didn't find out at our 12 week scan actually; at least we've got an extra 4 weeks of thinking time.

Eeeeek!! Hope everything is going well for you. I'm really quite worried as we'd booked Disneyland Paris for December and I'll be around 28 weeks if everything goes okay. 🙄 Wondering what the hell to do. 🤣 I've also got an internal job interview this week and I already look pregnant!

Congrats! My friend was pregnant when she got her internal job (in our team) and the agreement was she started her new role when she came back from mat leave 💓 so try not to worry (even though there is a lot of discrimination when pregnant)

Can anyone recommend baby name books or websites?
coming up to 36 weeks and my husband and I don’t even have a list of a couple of names we like 😩

I've an interview this week too!

Have been staring at my wardrobe thinking wtf do I wear because I know them not giving me the job because pregnant is illegal but I'd like to just take the chance of unconscious bias off the table anyway. I've got a few clothing options where it looks more 'tummy instead of Tummy' iykwim, and I'm more than qualified for this job (I'd be taking a pay cut if I took it and it's an area I've already worked a lot with and I know all their processes so it would be limited training needed).

Work has been utterly horrid. In a meeting with HR/head of my area/manager to discuss my OH recs for ND/stress risk assessment/pregnancy risk assessment, a comment was made by my manager that if one person wants a week's notice for changes to team processes (me, cos autistic), this means the team can't progress with anything, if the others can make decisions there and then. Hormones plus autism and feeling very hurt by that meant I was in tears for the rest of the meeting, which is embarrassing (if completely valid ofc). Going through things I'd identified as stressors turned into an argument, manager's response to everything I said was why I was wrong for feeling that way. I'm meeting with my union rep and if I have to do grievance, I will, cos I'm angry now.

I'm also just bleeping furious because whilst of course it is still a happy and lovely time for husband and I, getting ready for first babboo, and it is what you make of it, there is still this dark cloud hanging over it and it's like, because of somebody else's rotten behaviour, I worry that whenever I'll think back about my first pregnancy, I'll remember this, and I'm cross about that because how very dare you

my husband, who manages a team, did make a point that made me feel a lot better when I was feeling guilty about doing a Cilla (*) (I'll be just about at MATB1 stage if/when I start any new job now). He said he wouldn't be bothered if he recruited somebody who then went off on mat leave, because he'd just recruit mat leave cover, and then you've got one extra person in the organisation who knows how to do the job. He is an eminently reasonable person though.

Hello fellow twin mamas! How are you feeling and how far along are you?

I’m 16 weeks now (so out of the horrific first trimester). We’ve got our first appointment with the fetal medicine team tomorrow and I’m pretty anxious about it - our twins are MCDA. Also hoping we might be able to find out gender (though I know it’s not the point of the scan!).

Ahhh someone else!! Hello!!

I'm feeling really really really nauseous, been sick twice, but kept most things down apart from that! Tiredness is next level too and I already look about 20 weeks pregnant. My private scan yesterday said Twin 1 was 7w6d and twin 2 was 8w1d. So around 8 weeks at the moment. We're having DCDA twins so I believe we're lowest risk. I've just had my booking appointment and had NO idea it involved a blood test as that didn't happen with my first 3 years ago!!! I'm not good with needles so two faints later they managed to find a vein and get some blood. I've been prescribed high dosage folic acid and metoclopramide for the nausea, but not sure whether to take it or not yet.

Does MCDA mean identical?! Hoping everything goes okay for you - fingers crossed you get to know what your babies are too! We're going to have a private gender scan at 16w so we can prepare as much as possible. We've got lots of boys clothes from my first, but nothing for a girl! x

Yeah that's true, with twins the longer you have to prepare the better I think, especially as our pregnancies tend to be a bit shorter 😅 I feel like I had mentally prepared for all sorts of news at the 12 week scan apart from the possibility of twins 😂 ahh Disney, I'm so jealous! Hopefully the magic of it all will distract from any aches and pains you may be experiencing and at least it won't be as hot as we have had it recently! Good luck for the interview!! 💖
