Hello fellow twin mamas! How are you feeling and how far along are you?

I’m 16 weeks now (so out of the horrific first trimester). We’ve got our first appointment with the fetal medicine team tomorrow and I’m pretty anxious about it - our twins are MCDA. Also hoping we might be able to find out gender (though I know it’s not the point of the scan!).
I'm only 23 weeks and already feeling sore everywhere ngl but my job requires a lot of standing and bending which is definitely when I feel it the worst! Over the last few weeks I've decreased my hours and I now only have 2 weeks left before I use up my holiday and then I'm going on maternity leave as soon as possible 😂 best of luck for your appointment tomorrow! Hopefully you can find out the gender too, would love an update if you feel comfortable sharing🤞💖

31 weeks on Wednesday. Still not recovered from my pitiful 3.5k walk where half of it was uphill yesterday. Would like a sedate week of annual leave where I treat myself like a Queen but, being real, there is too much to do at work and home and I need to plod on.

The Boy is breech with his hands and feet about his face. I think a limb or foot or hand is a bit wedged around my right rib as I have discomfort there a lot. And I am convinced his little bottom is parked on my bladder. Every time I stand or walk I feel really uncomfortable and like there is a lot of pressure on my bladder. Haven’t had bladder weakness issues during the day, I do have them at night which pre-dates my pregnancy but is made worse by the pregnancy. I’ve got a physio referral for this.

Is a belt likely to help? Should I ask the midwife or the physio? I see the midwife next week and the physio in early August. I really hate the way it feels when I stand up and walk about.

How exciting!!! So glad there's someone else on this thread expecting twinnies. I'm glad we didn't find out at our 12 week scan actually; at least we've got an extra 4 weeks of thinking time.

Eeeeek!! Hope everything is going well for you. I'm really quite worried as we'd booked Disneyland Paris for December and I'll be around 28 weeks if everything goes okay. 🙄 Wondering what the hell to do. 🤣 I've also got an internal job interview this week and I already look pregnant!
People didn't really picked up I was pregnant (although first and 1 baby) until I was like 5 months along? And these are people at the office and pilates class. I thought it was extremely obvious.

I think sometimes people are too polite to say anything (not always I must admit), but I didn't look pregnant with my first until 6 months and that's when I popped. I think second time they say you get bigger quicker as your body knows what to do... mine certainly knows what it's doing😐. I've had to buy size oversized shirts, but if the wind blows against it it's very obvious.

Once I know whether I've got the internal job or not, it'll make things a bit easier. If I haven't then I'll tell my line manager bcus quite frankly there's a 90% chance I'm gonna vom on her at this point and if I have got the job then I just need to wait.

We had the scan. Both babies are looking good and measuring well. We also found out we’re having two little boys 🩵🩵

Gosh - I can only imagine. I’m already feeling quite tender and sore at 16 weeks. There’s no way I could make it through a non-desk job. Are you not exhausted?

We are now booked in for fortnightly scan to track growth and identify the risks of TTTS and IUGR so that we can intervene if necessary.

I know not all pregnancies are straightforward but I am finding this all quite anxiety inducing - just so much can go wrong. I just want to fast forward to having my boys home.

So glad to hear everything looks good, congratulations on your baby boys 🥹 I am so exhausted ngl and my 3 year old never gives me a break when I'm home 😅😂

I suffered a lot of anxiety with my first and as soon as I heard the word twins I knew it would only be worse this time. My twins are DCDA so are lower risk but I hope you have lots of support and/or you can easily get it if you feel like you need it. It's understandable to feel anxious, especially like you said as so much can go wrong but it's good you will be having regular scans to keep an eye on the main concerns!

I wish you and your boys all the best 🩵

Thank you so much! It’s so nice speaking to people in a similar boat.

But you’re right - keeping an eye on it all is all we can do for now.

Good luck with the last 2 weeks of work. Hopefully it’ll get easier once you start maternity leave - I’m sure you’re counting down the minutes!

Hope you get the internal job ❤❤❤

This week I'm kinda pissed at people that asked me how baby is doing without even asking me how I'm doing. Nevermind me, the mere vessel to new life. I'm allowing myself to be rude if anyone is like this.

What are we doing for constipation? I don’t take iron tablets (don’t need to) so it’s not due to that. Taking magnesium nightly. Drinking plenty. Trying to get fruit and veg in and brown bread etc.

I’m still waiting for the pregnancy glow and I’m 31 weeks tomorrow 🤣

Awww congratulations on your twinnie boys😍😭

Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you. Sounds like they're keeping a close eye which is great news although I know it can seem quite a lot.

Have they said about birth options yet? At only 8 weeks I'm being told conflicting advice by the midwife and consultant.🙄😐

I can only say I have oatmeal with banana before bed to help with acid reflux, but it also works for that, and I am taking iron.
A friend swear by having those probiotic little drinks.

I had it so bad in first trimester. Aside from massively upping my fibre intake, I did take senna/ Dulcoease (*) when it got really bad cos BUMPs said it was fine

(*) ETA not at the same time lol

I struggled a lot with this in 2nd trimester. rune juice although I hated the taste 😂, kefir and also pear juice worked as well and increasing fibre although I already had a fair amount. Also got Lactulose from the pharmacy but it took a few days to work.

I had this so bad last time round and I’m getting it again 😫 Fybogel worked wonders for me. Also I’d blend up tinned prunes with other fruit like grapes to make a smoothie which tasted surprisingly nice!

Thank you thank you! Are yours MCDA too? Our consultant today was brilliant - he basically said that with DCDA, there is an option for vaginal delivery or c-section at 37 weeks. However with MCDA, he said that they would strongly recommend a c-section at 36 weeks.

When I had spoken to the midwife, she did say there might be an option for vaginal delivery but speaking to the consultant today I think the safest option is the c section.

Bananas are a hard no for me, I do like porridge oats though! The heartburn is a lot to contend with at the moment, too!

My baby was head down but I had a recent growth scan and baby is now transverse. I’m 35 weeks. Anyone else had this and baby moved back head down? I’m really wanting to avoid a c-section if possible!

For anyone wanting a good laxative ….try this. You can get it at the pharmacy and it’s safe for pregnant women. It works a dream. Nothing else helped me apart from this.

Now I’m 36 weeks and even on iron tablets I’m having the opposite problem 😩🫣

I’m really scared of taking laxatives. I’m not even sure why… I guess maybe because I have an hours drive to and from work, our toilets at work are quite ‘open’ (I mean they obviously aren’t, but equally they’re not private!) and that makes me nervous. Before I fell pregnant I assumed I had some sort of anxiety related IBS as I had daily diarrhoea. That along with the vast majority of my anxiety symptoms vanished when I fell pregnant. I guess I’m worried I so much as think about a laxative and my body remembers what it used to do to me 🤣
