Today I have learned that Rennies are gross (is Gaviscon any better? It’s the chalky texture that made me feel really yucky. I was going to buy Morrisons own liquid antacid but it was aniseed flavour which seemed super gross). But, I learned that JuniorDragName seems to have ‘passed’ the private NIPT with flying colours (the percentage of foetal DNA seemed a bit low but not low enough for there to be any comment, and the probability of the various things seemed pretty gosh darned low). And we know the sex of the baby! What a rollercoaster of a day!
Ah congratulations!!! How exciting 🩷💙

Sainsbury’s own brand orange antacid tablets are the only ones I can stomach! I’ve had no end of gastro issues this pregnancy and they sort of taste like orange refreshers rather than minty tubes like gaviscon!

Great news about the NIPT ☺

Has anyone ever used or planning on using one of those baby bean bags? My MIL bought one for the baby but I’m not sure on them! Not to be ungrateful it’s just not something I’ve ever considered a buying essential and I didn’t have one for my other 2 children 😂

I'm barely pregnant, I'm only 6ish weeks now symptoms really sometimes I feel as I'm not even pregnant. However, I'm struggling to fall asleep I don't know had the pregnancy insomnia hit sooner or what , I'm tossing and turning I'm annoying myself.

Pointless message just needed to rant as my husband is snoring beside me

I’m 19 weeks and it still doesn’t feel ‘real’. We know the gender. I’ve had no symptoms at all throughout and I still feel no different whatsoever! No movements yet. I look no different other than a bit bloated.
I’m wondering at what point it will hit me and feel real/sink in! Anyone else felt like this? X

Somebody please god give me some quick fix pain relief 😭😭 (😂😂 Wishful thinking I know)
I am 37+4 weeks pregnant and had pelvic girdle pain since 22 weeks. I am at the point now that I am slowly losing my patience with intense agony and not a single thing helping and never has.
I now have severe leg aches from the hips to heals of my feet. I CANNOT COPE!! I am a hormonal dramatic mess right now I know 😂😂 but jesus christ, Mary and f*King Joseph help me 🤣🤣🤣

I had pelvic girdle pain it's no joke. I got physio via my maternity hospital it did help and provided some relief . Also a support band helped but mostly physio.
I can tell you once you have the baby it vanishes it's bizarre. The night before I had my boy ill never forgot the pain I was in on the uncomfortable hospital bed , it felt so flat and my hips were in agony and then I had him and it was gone I was delighted

So I've had physio and it didn't help at all, in fact the exercises I was given were practically impossible to do due to the amount of pain. And the band helps slightly if I need to walk anywhere but not a huge amount. I have basically given up leaving the house now because the pain is just too much 😭 I have managed to get some sleep during the night thank the lord but wow! Thank you for responding and reasurring me this will go once I have her because I am terrified I am going to be in pain for life.

Support band and birthing ball are the only things that give me any relief 😩 Also magnesium spray on feet at night for leg cramp and baths with magnesium salts (£3.99 home bargains!)

I’m the same and I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and have a scan on Friday. I’ve got an anterior placenta so putting that down to why I can’t feel any movements x

I'm 30 weeks and it absolutely doesn't feel real. Even buying all the stuff just feels like I'm playing pretend.

That describes how I’m feeling so well, like I’m playing pretend…I’m 38 weeks 🙈 it’s no4 and I felt similar with all of mine but even more this time.
I think esp because it’s a girl after 3 boys and I didn’t see myself having any more after splitting from my other children’s dad (surprise baby 🥴)

Has anyone experienced being exposed to slapped cheek syndrome in pregnancy? My 3yo has it and I’ve contacted my midwife who has booked me in for a blood test later this afternoon but said she “would worry” if I caught it during pregnancy which obviously has made me worry too!!

Quietly joining after having my early scan today.. I am measuring 3 days ahead compared to dates from my last period, which makes sense as I thought I hadn’t ovulated but must have just tested too late! Still feeling so anxious/nervous but glad to have made it this far 🤞🏼 I’ll probably book another around 10 weeks tbh 🤣

Got the chance to visit a pool/jacuzzi/steam room/sauna today. 15 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Not a big fan of a sauna anyway so rarely spend more than 5-10 mins at a time but are the jacuzzi and steam room definitely out? Or could I just have a few mins in each, stay hydrated, pay attention to my body etc? The steam room has eucalyptus apparently and I’ve had manky gunked up sinuses from v. early on in pregnancy so that sounds lovely, even for a short period.

Feel like a selfish twit for even asking but you cannae be telling me Scandinavian women avoid the sauna when pregnant, lol. This is ‘don’t eat brie and smoked salmon’ all over again (I’ve eaten neither but I am practically dreaming about brie, I’m not going to lie) If needs be, me and my newly purchased (via Vinted) maternity swimsuit (which is mostly for my newly acquired extra large from all the snacking than a bump just yet!) will just stick to some swimming and I won’t even pout about it.

I have a swim/spa membership and go 2-3 times a week and have done throughout all 4 of my pregnancies. In fact I went for a sauna and steam this morning after my boys went to their dads (absolute bliss I must say!) I’m 38 weeks.

Basically yeah, just don’t push yourself to stay in longer than is comfortable, bring some water and enjoy! Also yes, my auntie is Finnish and people have their own saunas as home there, it’s very common for woman to enjoy them during their pregnancies

P.s. I’m currently sitting in m&s car park with a big chunk of Brie and blue cheese in the boot calling my name for lunch. You’re good 👍🏻 x

Not medical/expert advice, but my understanding is that you’re told to avoid them because it’s harder to regulate your temperature/blood pressure while pregnant, so as long as you listen to your body I wouldn’t worry too much. I haven’t had access to a spa while pregnant but absolutely would have had a few minutes in a steam room if I did!

Thanks ladies. I’ve had a fab afternoon, mostly in the pool but a few minutes in the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, all spaced out by pool time in between. My sinuses finally feel clear from the steam room as well, hurrah! I almost feel like a new woman 🤣

I have a David Lloyd membership with a spa, I’ve been to the sauna and steam a few time and just reduced my time in each to around 10 mins!

Also been eating smoked salmon and had sushi so maybe don’t take my advice lol but I’ve made a conscious decision to have smoked salmon from the same place I always have it from and I’ve been absolutely fine

Zero judgement from me on food choices that others make! I think my anxiety stops me. Has brie or smoked salmon ever made me ill? No of course not. So the chances are super low, but at the back of my mind is this niggling doubt that stops me.
