Oh my god, 8 weeks and I can tell my body is going through ** something ** - changes incoming, but I cannot believe any of this is real yet. Haven't told almost anyone yet and wondering when did you feel it was needed to share with your jobs? I mean, I would not wait till the legal requirement but I still feel like ... barely pregnant??

I told work at exactly 5 weeks for both of my pregnancies, it is extremely early but I work in retail and it's pretty physical so just wanted to be able to protect myself! My morning sickness kicked in at 5.5 weeks so I was glad they already knew as I had to go home part way through my shift😭

I’m struggling with this, I’m only 5 weeks but just feel knackered and pretty severe food aversion.I don’t want to tell work cos I’m up for a pay raise/promotion and I’m scared I won’t get it if they find out I’m pregnant but I travel a lot and it’s completely drained me today.
In terms of telling people, only me and my partner know but it was a great thrill telling a total stranger (barman) I was pregnant ( i asked them to add a pint to the work tab but actually serve me 0% one 😂)

Found out I’m pregnant with our first last week after 2 years of trying. We had just undergone fertility testing and were waiting for the results when we found out! Even though we have been trying for so long I am still so shocked 🤣 will be 6 weeks on Thursday. I feel awful that the excitement hasn’t hit me yet just the feeling of being petrified. Luckily I have not been sick but I have been feeling so nauseous and absolutely drained, it’s really toying with my emotions. Came home from work today and had a good cry to my partner 😂 We’ve not told anyone yet either. I’m not sure why I’ve wrote this I think I’m just hoping someone will tell me this is normal and that I’m not going mad

I didn't tell my work until 16 weeks, but I do work from home so could hide it well especially as I was so sick to start with! I probably would have told them earlier if I saw them in person! I think it does depend on what type of work you do as well.

You’re normal and you’re not going mad. When you’re TTC you think oh when I’m pregnant I’ll not take it for granted etc but nothing prepares you for the deluge of hormones and your mind being your own worst enemy. It’s good to have a big old cry - let it allll out! It’s so hard carrying on as normal when things like smells make you retch or the fatigue smacks you in the face

I didn’t tell work until after 20 week scan, and only told Directors a a couple of people. Others didn’t find out until I was 24 weeks. I’m a size 16 and carry weight on my belly anyway, and I’d had weeks 18-20 off for Christmas so I think if people did suspect, they just thought I’d just eaten too much. I work in an office and didn’t have morning sickness so wasn’t too much of a problem. I wanted to keep it quiet due to appraisals taking place just before Christmas and not wanting my pregnancy to have an impact.

I felt I had to tell my work about 9-10 weeks because I went through something quite stressful at work at that point and I became really scared that -something- would happen to me/my tiny tiny human. So I told my ‘boss’ (or the closest thing I have to a boss in my position) who is not around day to day, and I told the HR person who I actually manage but there because they are around day to day this felt the most appropriate. I would have preferred to keep it to myself for longer but I felt kind of forced into it. I’m sort of ready to tell people now mostly because I’m tired of pretending I’m fine when my head has been literal mush, I often have to shut my office door to dry heave when people microwave their lunch or bring a smelly dog into the office (I love dogs but I do need them to have a regular bath right now 🤣) or I get hit with the fatigue and just need to zone out for a minute. Although I’m an old lady I’ve fallen pregnant earlier than I anticipated this year, so I have to get a plan together pretty gosh darned quickly for work, so I guess the sooner I say something the quicker people will start to get on board with a master plan. I hate being the centre of attention though so I’m dreading it at the same time.

Zero judgement from me on food choices that others make! I think my anxiety stops me. Has brie or smoked salmon ever made me ill? No of course not. So the chances are super low, but at the back of my mind is this niggling doubt that stops me.
It’s so tough isn’t it? I had a medium rare steak at the weekend but I’m 35 weeks now and used the logic that he’s pretty much fully cooked at this point so surely the risk is as low as it will ever be. And even if it did make me ill, it’s nothing to the severe HG I had for the first 22 weeks!

Is anyone just having a weird pregnancy? For instance, my ‘bump’ is smaller now than two weeks ago and I don’t feel so tender or heavy with it. I’m trying not to freak out but this one is a bit different to my last pregnancy. I was hoping to feel less anxious the further along I got (I’m 15 weeks)

That’s a good point! I wonder if they will update the food guidelines. Runny eggs were off limits for ages and now if they have the logo they’re fine and so on. I suppose it’s scary to be the person who says something is safe for a pregnant woman in case it actually isn’t!

I definitely look bigger some days than others think it's only the last couple of weeks where I do actually look like I've got a bump.
And friends/ family keep commenting that I'm barely showing which is adding to my anxiety so badly thinking something might be wrong even though logically I had my 20 week scan 2 weeks ago and baby was developing well and all measurements looked good. Just having a bit of a wobble with how bad my anxiety is at the moment and feeling a bit overwhelmed I think!

At 30 weeks mine still changes shape and hardness all the time. It's just where baby is lying.

Hi,
This might not be the right thread so please point me in the right direction if you know somewhere better for me to post. Has anyone tried the Cozy Carriers, have the same look as the artipope but a fraction of the price. Just wanted to get real opinions on it.
Thanks :)

My baby is still cooking so can't truly recommend any but I've bought a Tula one for similar reasons as I'd seen them recommended by a few people :)

I’ve not tried but I’d say wait to buy a carrier until baby is here/almost here so that you’re still in the returns period if baby won’t take to it.
Both mine hated carriers. I’m going to try again soon now baby is bigger, il check these out.

Check to see if your local NCT has a sling library. I’m planning on borrowing a sling from there to see if the baby / me likes it first, then buying one at a future point.
